Hard to believe this came out in 1991, almost 30 years later and it still sounds fresh.
It's aged better than me then! 😅 🤣
You making me feel old 😂 but it’s all good
I was in the 6th grade when this song came out
Yes it still sounds great real R&B not weak crap in today's music!
Very true that shows the power of 🎶 in general I wish we had songs like this again instead of this fake Mumble crap and country hop mess.
This is the kinda music that CZcams doesn't

This Group was good together
I went to a college party when this song came out and one of the basketball players asked me to dance. He started singing this song in my ear and I melted. 28 years later and two college kids I still melt when I hear this song. Those were some good times ❤️❤️

It's STILL ok to make beautiful songs about Black Women. Some of us who sing just choose to serenade our ladies privately. And they show us appreciaton in many incomparable ways.

This is dedicated to all us beautiful brown eyed woman. You mostly here songs about blue eyes which is great however when you have plain brown eyes, songs like this make you feel proud of what God gave you. He never makes mistakes.
🙏💯
We have beautiful brown eyes not plain brown eyes. Okay?! 🤗
Never plain..nubian melanin sun eyes....the way they should be
The song is obviously referring to a black woman as seen in the video. This came out back in the days when R&B and Hip Hop artists were using mostly black women in their music videos. These days we don't see that much anymore.
Girl what's plain about eyes the color of mink? Or cognac? Or Chocolate? Mine are chocolate silk and cognac in the sunlight :oD
The 90's was the best music era hands down. Every genre was tight and I mean every music genre in the 90's.

Beautiful songs like these are classics and definitely should be treasured!!
Yes!!!!!!!😘😘
I'm sayin. No one knows about that these days. Used to win those prizes callin in and answering questions and guessing songs.
I miss this. I miss how R&B used to be where they would sing songs about love and subtly about sex. The music wasn't strictly about fkin, it was about love and all that came with that.
The ABSENCE of mental, physical, emotional, visual, spiritual, go ahead fake it.
Honestly. As a black girl I miss this.
100% NUFF SAID 😎
Right! U had to use your mind and spirit to appreciate the subtleties. Now it’s just flesh words. How can it be soulful if it’s missing spirit!!!
I've been saying this for years! I think the vulgarity is what eradicated True Rnb and took the soulful expression out of the music.
Artist cared about singing in the 90s, now they just make hits the lazy way
Semaj James couldn't have said it any better

These boys are INCREDIBLE!!! I saw them live like 4 years ago. STILL sound EXACTLY like their albums! No vocal processors. Just pure, raw TALENT!!! One hell of a show!!!
You KNOW they were destined for success. They were LITERALLY like the last "band" to breakthrough an otherwise "digital music" age and STILL compete with the top dogs and put out classic after classic!
One of my all-time favorite groups.
Remember seeing them live, opening up for Ms. Jackson's 'Janet World Tour'. They let you know they ain't just the opener. They psyching you up for the rest of the concert. & they played this their set. ***chef kiss***

Love love love.
It was produced and Arranged by Jimmy Jam,Terry Lewis,Jellybean and Roger Troutman Jr.
Roger Jr provided background vocals with Mint Condition.
YES. We're talking about Roger Troutman. His SON, Roger Jr was the Co Founder of Mint Condition, and their old HS Buddy.
Roger Troutman Jr was the hidden "7th Member" of Mint Condition.
This Song was written by Mint Condition members Lawrence Waddell (keyboardist), Stokley Williams (lead vocals/drums) & Jeffrey Allen (saxopohone/keyboards).
It was produced by Mint Condition and Jellybean Johnson. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis only mentioned that they should add the "Pretty Brown Eyes" through the whole song. That's it.
Mint literally got signed off strength of this song back in 1989 when they opened with it at their showcase at First Avenue where Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis came out and watched them perform.

This song had a special meaning between my young wife back in the 90s. She had the most beautiful brown eyes. I put this song on a mix tape for her long ago. I would write love letters on the memorex covers to tell her how much I adored her. She has been gone now for over 12 years, but I still remember her pretty brown eyes and how she would look at me!

This song was unique in so many ways because, at certain parts, this could've went the direction of a glam kinda rockish / pop tempo yet it stays the course of a really good R&B song. Really beautiful lyrics to boot, as well. And one of the best drum sets I've heard in this genre of music. Such a classic & really well-made gem! They just don't make em like they used to.
