The riff on Charlie’s Medicine just haunts me. It’s really an incredible piece of music. The lyrics remind me of a Michael Connelly novel. One of my favorite Warren Zevon songs. Kind of nice to get all three songs in one package.
Such an underrated song and one of the greatest guitar solos ever.

I saw WZ on this tour a little later. It was my first WZ show, and he always brought it, whether with a band or solo. The only other time I remember him playing Charlie's Medicine, on a solo tour, after finishing the previous song, he said, "and speaking of hell" and rolled right into this song. One of his best

The full 1 October 1982 concert can be found on youtube, and the credits list these people as the band members: Rhythm Guitar, Randy Brown; Drums, Joe Daniels; Bass Guitar, Larry Larson; Lead and Slide Guitar, John Wood. Strange seeing him without Waddy.
