- So that’s unheard of. EV Cars only are allowed to charge here, at least that’s what them man tries to tell me. I charged my electric motorcycle anyways and of course paid for my parking ticket. Off to the ferry in Belfast and Eve and I are going back to Scotland, back to the UK for more motorcycle adventure and there’s still a country we haven’t seen yet in Great Britain. Anyways, I think farms will be my new favourite places to stay…if I can find them ;)

I wonder why you went back to Scotland instead of taking a ferry to Wales. You could have gone to North Wales from Dublin or ridden down to Rosslare to take a ferry to Pembroke or Fishguard.

Marc, we call them 'a jobs-worth', bad luck finding one. Never had to pay for my bike at an open 'pay & display' car park!

Agreed. I was always of the understanding that in the UK, motorcycles are not required to ‘pay and display’ as there is nowhere to ‘securely affix’ a ticket to. That parking attendant is a spam-hammer.
Good news about the bike and Zero stepping in to help ... will be very interesting to see what comes of that

In the US, a electric motorcycle and electric autos are both classified as EVs and you can change your bike anywhere you see a charger that excepts credit cards.
As someone who also rides, It is the weirdest thing to see that bike take off and not hear an engine! So cool! Subbed!
He said no 1st gear - is it a twist and go like a moped only silent and very dangerous as nobody can hear you coming.
@@cloudbasenirvana I'd say it's just a twist and go yeah. No more dangerous than a "normal" motorcycle though. I ride a Road King so you can bet you hear me coming! 😂
Nice bike in the video, but no engine noise is why I will never have one. I can just imagine riding through a busy street and shoppers just walking out in front as they don't hear anything comming, so don't look over the shoulder before crossing the road.
Electric bikes and cars have the same problem i.e. "cor mate just look at the battery on your vehicle". Who cares? Electric will kill the motoring enthusiasts dream machines.

It’s the most relaxing experience ever. Riding and hearing birds, people, waves and smelling the scenery. No fumes or tiresome engine noise or gear changing every minute on winding constant changing roads.

I have a Zero SRS and your travel really got me thinking of doing some longer travelling myself, I have a long holiday (3 months) coming up next summer.
My Zero also have some battery issues, it's going back to the dealer in a few weeks, hope they can sort it out, I also heard they release some new features like on screen navigation lately, looking forward to that.
Odd that Eve confused the parking droid who said you couldn't park there. Bikes upset their software.

Man, how amazing to manage traveling with an electric bike... I remember how stressfull it was to find some gazoline station when I was on "reserve", can not imagine to do this with an Ebike... Great job my friend ! -Enjoy !
Why? Any 110/220v outlet can charge your bike. Be it a will take a "little" longer, but that is better than our of gas...

Good to hear Zero are going to sort the bike out. You are probably doing the most rigorous product testing their product has ever had. A great advert to show that touring on a Zero is viable. Safe Travels!
This series has made me realise I don't want an electric vehicle for a long time. Until they are much cheaper to buy and charge, have a much longer range and are more reliable.

Ha ! I had a very similar experience the other weekend in the uk with my ebike (can't charge there mate !). Just pointed to the sign that said "vehicle charging" and said it's a vehicle, go away. They never ever say car charging, always vehicle.
I just don't get why traffic wardens have to be like that?

Stayed in same B&B the week before you in Scotland, the one with the steel plate screwed over the electric heater controls to stop it being used ! Had a laugh when you plugged the bike in for a charge, cable through the window! They'll be screwing the windows shut next !

Hey man, I just found you today and I am so happy that I did. I watched around 19 of all of your electric bike videos fully today and couldn't stop. I myself have an electric scooter that I travelled a lot with and it was so fun. I learned how to drive a bike when I went to India this year! It was a honda shine and really enjoyed the new experience. I love the cinema quality and the time you take to stop and take videos! Ride safe and have fun man.

I had a relative living in the Cotswolds that didn't have elctricity from a utility. He would fire up an old diesel generator at night to see. That would be enough to cool the fridge for the following day. You haven't really plugged into an "electrical jerrycan".

Sorry I missed your reply I don't use my phone I use my tablet which obviously I only check randomly. Anyway if your thinking of coming to OZ let us know your welcome for a stop over and any advice for a trip. Not sure it would be possible as we have massive distances between towns. We actually sold our cruisers as the tank was not big enough and bout two tigers and we get around 400 klm range and I still carry 3 litres as back up on our outback tours. Not sure how you would overcome this on an electric bike. Not to put you off I'm sure you would enjoy OZ so take care ride safe. Ray Laura

Looks like you're back on Loch Ryan near Stranraer? I guess you have an itinerary planned but you are in a beautiful part of Scotland that a lot of people miss out. Down to The Mull of Gallaway on the East coast, then back up the West side via Dunskey Castle and Portpatrick is stunning.
Too bad that ferry lines haven't installed EV spaces to allow owners to "top up" their charge while underway...
If you stay in Edinburgh be aware that many bikes are stolen. Take all security precautions. I'm a biker too. 🙂

lived in N.ireland for 14years, been riding bikes for 12years and never have i bought parking tickets for a bike... none of my biker friends do either..and from what i know you dont need to pay for a bike..
logically thinking you pay for your parking...put the receipt on your bike..anyone wanting to park just takes it off your bike..or wind blows it away

I think Stenaline are a great ferry company, but I do wish they unstrap the bikes before letting cars go. Twice I had to unstrap mine and it isn’t easy. But, that can be down to the respect they have for bikers. We’re usually always capable of just doing stuff.

If you need a parking lock, check out Bullet Brake. Its easy to install and handle.
