4 out of the last 6 efl trophy matches were won by the u21 sides.. mostly through shootouts. This competition was originally only for lower league teams... I dont agree with it. Just more money going to prem teams..

no one cares about the cup so clubs only sell one stand.
This cup is to League 1/2 sides as the League cup is to Prem sides; nice if you can win it, but nobody's shedding a tear if they get knocked out.
@@bouncingboredom league cup isn't taken that seriously, its the lesser of the cups.
All the moaners about U21 sides being allowed in need to give their head a wobble, they get to watch some of the best young talent in the country while the lower league team players get to show off their own skills and maybe get spotted as a late developer. They are being checked out to see how that club is run and how the team play with a view to getting players out on loan to continue their development (Ask Sheffield united fans if they benefited from two of City`s youth players on loan) and more important make contacts with big clubs who could put very good players their way in the future (Not all youth team players make it but thats not to say they would not shine in the lower divisions).
No ones takes these game serious. All the league clubs play their 2nd string/youth players. Trust me no one wants to watch u21 sides play besides the parents of the players.
