Well mine went nothing as smooth as yours. The grub screws were seized solid. The cables leading to the back of the cluster were really short meaning easing the cluster out like you did was impossible as there was no give in the cables. What a bastard of a job that was. Much easier on an E34/36.

Hi, Cheers for the vid was a god send, however having issues putting it back.. nothing seems to line up and I have gaps on the side, is there a knack of putting it in, I screw the top brackets in first and then try and do the bottom 2 middle but it starts curving. Any help would be great.

rav singh having the exact same issue. Bottom two corners leave big gaps when re-*installing the frame around the cluster. Did you find a fix?

Bairdogg no not at all. I feel like I'm doing something stupid haha ...seems pretty straight forward but this is like a puzzle to me ....will keep trying I guess ..

I decided to say screw it and keep going to if it would line itself up, but now that little plastic cover (the one held on by the thumb screws) doesn't sit flush at all. There's a roughly 1/2 inch gap between the cluster and that piece, I'm completely lost as to why. It would be nice if BimmerZeit would help out.

I'm losing my mind, I remove my cluster to fix my odometer gears and I see that you have a bulb with wires connected to the left side connector, and I can't find that on mine. My whole Guage cluster lit up before and now it doesn't, I don't know where that light could have gone and what it could be connected to.

Yellow plug is part of OBC wiring-if u have analogue-clock next to radio then you won't have yellow plug.

The 1990 models should have an airbag wheel, that is a little more involved - so be careful! I will upload the airbag version next time I have access to an airbag model E30.

Yes because you have to reach your hands up behind the dash. Kick panel easy to remove... it takes 2 minutes
