  • Voice-over artist Phil Sayer, 62, who previously worked for the BBC as a regional TV and radio presenter, died on yesterday, his wife announced. Mr Sayer, dubbed the 'voice of reason, radio and railways', announced the warning phrases for multiple Tube lines and PA announcements at railway stations across the country. He was a presenter for BBC North West News and BBC Manchester in the 1980s, before setting up a voiceover business with wife Elinor Hamilton.
