Alex - You humble me with your video that shows the rocks I sent to you were part of your latest video on CZcams. I have been collecting since the early 1970's and have amassed a few hundred pounds of rock (maybe a few ton). Always happy to help someone that is starting to enjoy what I consider the greatest and most rewarding hobby in the world. I always enjoy Kip's and your videos. A great pair to watch! Keep the videos coming.

Lol Nevermind, I can ask myself! Hi Parley, im Nanette. I've been collecting for about the same amount of Years.
That cut off box that you sent has a piece of white agate with brownish inclusions that are round a smooth. Of you have a name for that one? Location info is here in the comments to Alex. I have some old ones that haven't been sawed if you're still working on stuff.

@@nanettebarling1222 If you will send me the time of the video that the agate appears, I will definitely try to identify. I went through Alex's video and I found him holding a clear piece of agate with black spherical inclusions. That one is Montana agate. Yes, I am still cutting and polishing stones. The only problem is that winter is approaching and my shop does not have heat in it. Therefore it has been winterized. I will be cutting normally in mid-March or April. My email address is gparley@gmail.com.

Stromatolites are an algae growth phenomena. They Form as mats of algae, multiple layers develop. They sort of look like legs sticking out of the ocean topped by a green scummy layer. You can still find them in some areas of the world. Stromatolites were one of the first life forms on planet Earth. We find their fossilized remains on some of the beaches along Lake Michigan. For a better explanation google them.

It's so nice to hear the enthusiasm in your voice and the appreciation for the rocks that you received. Our Earth is a gift. Just look at what we can do with the stones.

I enjoyed the rocks and corals from Michigan, also. I live in Michigan close to Lake Michigan. We do have some beautiful rocks here. I find fossils along my road in the gravel and at our beaches.
