I just purchased the last one Sweetwater had. Can't wait to get it. Jack's the reason I started playing bass in 1969. Thank you Jack, for making my life better.
Jack isn't kidding when he says that these bass guitars "...blow the old Gibsons to smithereens." I got one and the fit and finish are flawless. The sounds that you can get are both versatile and unique in that you can get several good tones out of it. Some of them are much closer to sounding like an upright bass than any I have played previously. A great, great bass.
The movie "Bad Times at the El Royale" features a gold top version of this bass and in that setting, it looks crazy Gretsch/Epiphone vintage. Thumbs up.
Little Anna, this bass does cost $799. I just got mine about a month ago from zZounds, but they're the same price at all of the big music retailers. It comes with a gig bag, a nice strap, and a certificate of authenticity sign by Jack and Jim Rosenberg of Epiphone. It is one sweeeeet bass guitar!
If you're planning on getting the limited red one I wouldn't hang around as they discontinue them and the price jacks way up. If you want the gold one take your time :P

I agree, Gibson's QC is horrible at times. Epi's, especially this model, are a great value and do the job!
