The guy floored it, went sideways in front of my father, and slammed into the wall of the tunnel, nose first. It was all over the news, and it was not pretty. The car desintegrated, no bullshit. My father made it out okay, no damage or injuries.

I agree the Lotus is a world class handler. A friend has one here in Hawaii. I love it, it is all business. The Vette just offers more than handling. Comfort, Top Speed. Its all personal opinion to allot of the reasons people like the Vette. I love Ferraris, Lambos, Porsche GT3' and GT2's, and am not in any way saying Lotus is bad, I just think the Vette Offers more for the money.

I think the producers of the ZO6 got some cues from the japanese aftermarket scene. Aluminium and fibre glass. In a time where all car manufacturers are building bigger and heavier cars which is utterly pathetic, they decide to go down the good ol efficiency route. I like that. Always liked corvettes too

Well no one needs a 200mph car, and the Vette (stock) comes close. But, it doesnt take much to get a Vette ZO6 to go faster than stock. All it takes is a reprogramming to get rid of Torque management the General puts in the ZO6 and you will see about 30-40rwhp and add a set of headers, change the alignement, and you will still be under the price of the Lotus, and will whoop it in every corner and track!!
so has the vettes, like i said the vette has the same body style as it did in the 60s all theyve done at gm is approve upon that design, plus the vette has always had 4 taillights, but different strokes for different folks u have ur opinion i have mine, no disrepect intended
Lotus Exige, you mean supercharged GoCart from Toyotas engine dept? I think the ZO6, like many people world wide, is not an exotic, but an every day supercar most people will never be able to drive to the potential, and its a helluva lot cheaper than Exige etc when it comes to repairs, and the Vette is more comfortable.

AJAnewage, that's astoundingly ignorant. The strength is in the spaceframe. In a serious crash the car may come apart around you, but inside the frame you'll be protected and will likely walk away without significant injury.

I can't say I will never own an import, but I have great "bride" in my country and so far it is all American(Camaro/Trans am) for me...unless u count my mom's Honda :) that is a great grocery/travel car. lost their design, the vette has always kept its same looks but is improved upon for each new generation, and in terms of looking like a ferrari i think not, if u want a unique classic then google 1967 stingray, and in terms of handling the f430, gallardo and anything in that price range and lower except maybe a porsche gt3 thats it

A lighter frame (Aluminium)does mean faster but it also means deadlier. Auminium can't manage a high impact crash compared to steel.
actually when it comes to straight acceleration, the Z06 can actually beat the ZR1. don't get me wrong though, the ZR1's still a beast.
