I’m a mystics fans but I totally agree with your take on the liberty making a *severe* misstep in not drafting nika muhl. she fits their needs with her defensive prowess as a guard and ball vision under an aging sloot. I was shocked to see them pass on her on draft night.

Luckily, 12 more spots are going to be available next season, and 12 more the season after that, but hopefully they can expand the roster for each team to match what the NBA is doing, which I believe is 15 players for each team. Of course that depends on revenue.

I think you guys need to talk narratives around rookie versus the WNBA existing stars... a lot of new fans knows the rookies but sometimes they dont know how they go up against the W stars. Put up some visual who these W stars and how the rookies and W Stars compete against each others. These are exciting stuff 🎉

Quita. Love your show! You're my go to for good information and insight for the WNBA. Question? What happened to Mackenzie Holmes? She was drafted by the Seattle Storm but had season ending surgery. Do the Storm have her draft right for next season?
She is still with the Storm but will not play this season and won’t take up a roster spot due to injury, she will work with Storm staff to get her ready for next season, similar to Liz Kitley and the Aces

I don't believe Indiana will cut a forward. The last cut will be a guard. They are guard heavy, and with the fouls of Smith and Boston they all of tbeir front court players.
i think because the WNBA uses a hard cap for salary, a lot of teams hold 11 and not the full 12
So they give players apartments do they have to pack every year just in case they get cut
I have three women who are very gritty who are on the edge. I am pulling for these three. Kate Martin with Ace's. Nika Muhl with the Storm. Celeste Taylor with the Fever. All 3 are real good defenses players and limited offensive players. They can hit the spot up three.
So do Kate and Dyaisha get 4-yr rookie contracts like the top picks? How about Megan and Kitley who's injured?

The Wings cut Veronica Burton today. Slightly surprising since she started in the preseason game but she did only play 8 minutes in the game. Lou arrived late due to overseas commitments and that is the reason she did not play.
Why not use the charters only for the playoffs and finals and keep more players in the team?.

Tina Charles is taking a roster spot from one of the girls. She had her time. Y not try to get on the coaching staff ? At some point the W has to weed out the older players so young girls can thrive
Yep! And think about this, if you are a top player your salary will now substitute for 2 or more new players when your gone. Why not help other players.
I don't see it as Charles (or any other older player) "taking a roster spot" from other players. This is professional sports and their job is to try to make the team. I don't think Lebron and Chris Paul are trying to give their roster spots to younger players.

Dallas is very confusing on their deciding to let Dangerfield go to Atlanta for a 3rd round pick. She was starter for 33 games last year and clearly better than Burton. Sevgi looked very good against Indiana and is natural point guard. Veronica is great kid but IMO should be the one cut due to inability to score at any level. not from 3, no mid range game and can't beat denders to get to rim.
In light of keeping Sevgi and Jacy, the move to trade Dangerfield now makes sense. Dallas has completely overhauled their point guard position from last year. I think the position will be better this year
All I can say is that it's pure luck. If a player who scored 26 points for a National Championship team can't make a roster, I give up. I'm done with the Dream as well as the Fever. If UCANT'S Muhl makes the Storm roster, it's politics. Sick of these coaches and owners.

I disagree about Muhl. She is overrated. The Liberty can get a young pg next year.
I think the thing about Muhl is that she wasn’t just a point guard, she plays defense which is something that Liberty guards struggle with, so that’s why I thought them drafting her made sense
@QuitaLovesSports respect your opinion. I personally think Dojkic is better in both areas than Muhl. To me the Liberty messed up by not going after Cloud.
