Great review. You guys are great. Greetings from Slovakia.
Sound wise, through my phone, the differences don’t come through. Your discussions of the physical and practical differences help a lot. Thank you.
34:18 These units actually don't have an identical speaker system. The 301 has two top-facing speakers with 360 diffusers, while the 401 has front-facing speakers. This must make a pretty significant difference in how they feel while playing with the speakers on; I'm surprised this 37 minutes long video did not touch on that.
Feel the same here. The guys talk a lot with no focus. It’s just selling - this is not a real technical review.
I bought 301 because of the better speaker system and it’s 500 less in europe than
401
:)
The CN 301 has 45 voices, not 32. There is also a big difference in price, at least here in Germany: CN 301: 1.500€, CN 401: 2.000€
Same here in Uk

For someone who's looking for a digital piano closest to a grand piano, I'd go for the CA401 with no doubt! Because I feel that action is more important than any other feature plus you get great sound as well!
Me too without any doubt. I also very much prefer the much smaller Control Panel on the CA 401.
If its a digital piano it should have at least the audio out that CA401 doesn't have.
@@kg0173 Honestly, I don't give a shit. If you need that, use the headphone jack
23:26 what song is it? where I can get the sheet music for this?
Very interresting review , thank you. BTW the CN301 has 100 rhythms 👍.
But I ´d like to know which of these two actions is the lighter, because I prefer light actions. Thanks
I have the CN301 and I'm a bit disappointed that the key action is lighter than expected, I think the CA401 is a more premium action(Compact, not the RH3) and is a bit better suited for conservatory studies.
I actually like how the CA401 has a solid top piece of wood instead of a the mesh fabric that covers where the sound would come out of on the CN301 or even higher CA series pianos. I know it may not have the best sound and that on the models with the mesh fabrics covering where the sound would come out of might sound better and louder but I still prefer a solid piece of wood instead.
I feel the same way. It wouldn't look so bad if the mesh was a closer match to the rest of the piano. It's so conspicuous when it's so many shades off
I almost bought cn201 because of it. Almost. cn301 looks great.
guy should i get cn301 or ca401 please help
CN 301 is a good to go for me
Which CA series introduces the sound board?
The CA901
I had recently bought the CN301, prior to that I had never touched a DP, I had good uprights and a Yamaha C3 grand piano. For the price it's doing a marvellous job, but the keys are too soft and I wouldn't recommend it for serious conservatory study. Here in Europe prices are very good for Kawai, I had bought the CN301 for about $1600(including VAT) , while the CA401 was around $600 more expensive, I would had bought it if it had the GF3 action, but that's only for the CA701 and CA901.
The CN301 has a lot more voices and sounds than the CA401, when purchasing I didn't care about that, but by trying them I learned to enjoy playing with accompaniment, especially Slow Strings is a marvellous accompaniment for many waltzes and classical pieces
I was disappointed by the speakers max volume, too low when many youtubers claim to be powerful speakers LOL. They work well as in surrounding the sounds evenly, but they could had powered them a bit more.
I love my CA49. Wood keys are why I bought it. The tonality is awesome!
I also recently bought a CA49 (at a huge discount) after testing it side by side with a CN301 and a CN201. CA49 had a beefier sound at the low end and, even though Iblike the RH3 action quite a lot, the GFC action is in a different universe. As a player who is focused only on (Classical) piano, CA49 makes perfect sense. For other users extra features on the CN301 will make it worthwhile. I can only assume that CA401 is better than the CA49 and for players like me, it is the clear choice in this comparison.
lol you write this on almost every kawai video 😄
@@dominic6055 yup!
@@aliar11 I meant Josh
@@aliar11 Does the CA49 have the SK-EX sampling? That's the reason for why I preferred to buy the new model CN301, that sample is perfect also because I don't like all the other ones(only standard EX for some pieces)
Better to buy a Yamaha 735 or 745. I just realized after buying the Kawai 401 that there seems to be no access to built-in piano lessons. Dealers of the instrument are also clueless about this. Why would you not provide any info on this in your manual is my question to Kawai
I prefer ca series, better keys, better samples for me
