Cool! It's originally an Elvis song. Geoff does a great job.
You still haven't watched Geoff's Way Down, which is where those name tags originate. I absolutely encourage you to watch that one. It's super fun, Geoff sounds awesome as always, and you get to see Geoff dancing! Definitely one for a day where you need a big mood boost! 😁
And seeing Geoff playing the doofus is fun too. His fun, like his acting, is sublte but brilliant.
This is so minimalist that the beauty of the melody is allowed to perfectly contrast with the sorrow of the lyrics and allows us to drift with the emotions. It is so satisfying to the listener
What's funny is that Geoff really *didnt* want to record this. Patreon members have been asking for this song for a long time, and he'd insisted he was never going to do it. And then he did, and admitted that he actually enjoyed the results. Which is wonderful, because all his fans seem to really love it as well and I agree- it's a truly gorgeous, painful, gut-punch of an arrangement. Geoff just keeps getting better and better.
About the Geoff names.... When he did Way Down, three of the characters were janitors, the fourth was the supervisor. All were wearing name tags, variations on how people spell or mispronounce his name. Then when he did Ghostriders in the Sky, there was a fifth Geoff. His name was Daryl. When he did Folsom Prison Blues, each Geoff had a number on his shirt. The numbers corresponded with the numbers on a telephone keypad spelling out the original four names.
I loved this piece, it was absolutely gorgeous. I hope the clones will be back soon.
The funny thing is, we (the patrons) actually had to beg Geoff for years to cover this song, he never wanted to do it. But he finally caved and said that he actually did enjoy arranging it in the end. 😊
Wickedly beautiful song
It's like...watching a sunrise. So many different layers of notes, in so many different colors, blending together to make this exceptionally beautiful "picture." From the low purrs to the higher notes. It's just amazing. And LT, I spent the whole video watching your eyes light up and your expressions were so entertaining! This is a real winner. It really is.
First, thank you for mentioning checking subscriptions; I'm still subscribed to you and Geoff but it's good to remember that sometimes un-magic happens.
Second, your sound quality if fine and I listen for your content and have no opinion about background as longas it's not distracting.
Yes, I find that Geoff has to cater to separate tastes; there's the folks who must have the super low notes and folks who appreciate anything as long as it's nicely arranged and performed. I'm in the latter group so I really loved the harmonies here.

I actually love that wall. I noticed it immediately and thought it had such a classic look. Then of course during the song it was beyond perfect - you in black with your white wall, Geoff in asphalt grey and misty white walls...
Ever since Avi did a short of this about a year and a half ago (only one minute long - argh), I have been dying for a full cover. That has yet to happen. Geoff's cover will fill the gap nicely. The new set-up did not seem to affect your vocal quality that I could tell. It looks fine to me, but if you don't feel as comfortable, fiddle around with the set-up to your heart's content!
You set up is great,so is the sound. Like it at a lot. Always look forward to your reactions.

As for the clones. Jeff, Goff and Jeoph were named in Way Down on their name tags. Daryl was first named in Ghost Riders. You will also see Jeff, Jeoph and Daryl named in Folsom Prison Blues. The inmate numbers spell out their names on an old fashioned phone. Cathy said Geoff was too smart to get put in prison. But most people think he is up on the catwalk at the end. Jeff is my favorite. He is the funny one. He plays the harmonica in Folsom. ❤❤
The white wall is nice. It added texture to what is otherwise plain background…

I think the white wall is okay, but could use a tapestry or a painting or something. A splash of color. As for the different tags of names for Geoff, have you not seen his video of "Way Down?" If not, you MUST react to it. If you already have, watch it again, and when the Geoffettes show up, look at their name tags. I think the blank one is for Daryl from "Ghost Riders In The Sky."
