I think that song was Semi-Charmed Life.
That’s it! Haha thanks for that
The song isn’t metal but those lyrics could be😂
Love how you break down the music theory into something interesting and palatable. 🤘
Thanks for doing this! There are a lot guitar lessons on CZcams, but yours are very clear helpful. great length/level of depth
This works for me because you made it relatable, therefor easier to understand. You do great music, but also showed that you are also a great teacher. Thank you for being passionate about your craft and willing to help others like be able to understand and be inspired to work on music.
Excellent stuff Ray!! Love your theory vids.
Very, very nice! I really like the making the link from theory, to practise to actual riff writing. Hope you'll be doing more of these in the future!
It made incredible sense... Thank you, XRC... 🤘
Definitely need more videos like this.
I casually watch your videos but this one is outstanding!! Subbed. Thanks Ray!
Door vid my dude, one of the best guitar CZcamsrs out there rn, keep up the good work! 😁🎉
Youre a natural teacher ray!! Amazing breakdown and step by step explanation!
very cool leasson Ray well done!
very cool! 🔥🔥🤘🤘
Thanx Ray , keep up
Much appreciated seriously!
Bro that demo was absolutely slamming 🤘🔥🔥🤘
Great video man 🤘🏼
Ya that's a really cool idea. I gotta play around with that. Thanks. 👊😎
This video actually helped out a lot I never really understood what arpeggios were until now
im glad I could help!
Cool stuff, I really need to start trying to learn more lol
Damn Ray I didn't know you were so good at theory! Thanks for this lesson, I'm gonna practice this tomorrow!
Really cool video man. Only recommendation to make it 10/10 would be to add visuals for people that don’t understand the shit like if you had the chords in a key written on the screen.
Well done!
Awesome job.i don't know if u have any teaching background but i imagine you would be extremely effective teacher.u always have. A great positive attitude and that was a very well break down.yhank you brother.
Stay Metal, Ray 🤙
Dude these videos are awesome.
Glad you like them!
And this video is why you are STAY METAL RAY🤘 making cowboy chords metal
Thank you
Love your look, Snoopwolf
Ray, you lost me at “Hey everyone, I’m Ray, a guitarist here on CZcams”
Just kidding, good little lesson. You should do more of these types of videos on CZcams.
3:07 yo I’ma keep it real with you. That album, the one with the “due due due” song, is low-key a masterpiece. Seriously, it goes hard.
great video
Hey thanks so much!
Dude. I can’t wait to get home from work and try these out.
4:35 this is a really good lesson here... if I could just add on to it. Do you know how to play octives? Of course you do. Octives are all the same notes. So , if you are doing ur arpagio pattern starting from G on the low E string, you can very quickly grab the G octive on the D string and repeat literally the exact same pattern and make it an exercise to work through all the strings. This is how you learn to play in different keys :)
Holy shit I never would have thought to use arpeggios for a riff like that...
Thanks for teaching dumbasses like me! XD
I seem to remember a lesson similar to this video were there was some heavy thrash kinda stuff with this technique 🤔
Do you think you could do a video on explaining how to get good metal tone on low watt amps?
Lions at the Gate 🤘
Ray you should try one of those bass VI since it’s basically a baritone lol
Kool
I want to see a breakdown of that riff at the end you wrote.
That's badass brother. Would love to have you on my radio show Rockland revolution. Hmu.
Also correct me if I am wrong but the way you showed here each position(arpeggio) you moved up the fretboard would also be the same spots as the modes in g.
Yup exactly!
It interesting. But how do I write drums for metal riffs? That sounds so complex
Hi Ray,the link with the music theory does't open for me...i'm from Romania(europe) is it counts
Please make a song on that riff you wrote xD
Metallica,Cliff Burton anesthesia/pulling teeth 🤘🤘
How much for a lesson?
1st
See if a Les Paul can handle drop A 🤘
The notes in an arpeggio don't need to be played in succession.
