    Yes, because a roller coaster with a significant height limit is clearly trying to appeal to a tiny percentage of children who have heard of Starfall Education. At least some lawyers made money.

      Yeah it’s dumb but at least it’s over something basically insignificant. The ride itself will still be the same and the name will seem normal eventually

      @@jaykay1899And to me, I think I will eventually get used to the name of the ride, as when I think of the word Stardust, I think of JoJo: Stardust Crusaders.

      Eh, as a long-time attendee of TeslaCon, the oldest steampunk convention in the country, I have a lot of sympathy for the smaller group having to defend their name from a big corporation trying to appropriate it! (We had the name first and Elon just has to lump it ;-) Universal can change the name easily enough, let the educators keep their name.

    • @GTNover
      @GTNover Před 3 měsíci

      No man, that's not why they were sued. The educational company currently pulls up first on Google when you type in their trademarked name "Starfall."
      If Epic Universe opens with a popular ride names Starfall Racers, the company that paid for the trademark won't show up first anymore because obviously it's far more appealing.
      I think it's fair that they protect the trademark they spent money on.

    What a wild claim of trademark infringement! Does this mean that Starfall Education Foundation realistically believes that they could license their name to theme park attractions? Sounds like Universal is very hesitant to avoid even the weaker threats of litigation.

    So stupid. They should have let Universal keep "Starfall", it's like free advertising for their group. Who the hell even heard of Starfall Whatever Group until now? Yeah, Universal is riding on *their* coat-tails because how else would they survive as a park? :-( May Stardust Racers be around long after Starfall fell.

      It’s one of the most idiotic legal arguments I’ve heard in a long time. 😂

      “Yeah I know you’re suing us for millions because we didn’t pay to use the name you copyrighted but hey! Think about it as free advertising for your company we’re paying you in exposure. So I say you can’t sue us anymore because I said so.” Is that how you think the legal system works?

    • @Drebe73
      @Drebe73 Před 3 měsíci +2

      Imagine if the company sponsored the attraction. They’d actually have positive exposure for their brand.

    • @fifthrider
      @fifthrider Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@quethinks5429 No, I get where you're coming from but on this occasion I'd agree that would be the better outcome. The copyrighted name wasn't something unique like "Coka-Cola" it's two existing words mashed together. Star. Fall. I mean the words "Que" and "thinks" are two separate words, as are "Fifth" and "Rider". It doesn't mean I'm going to sue a motorcycle shop that opens up under the name Fifthrider. Starfall is utterly unknown and there was no reasonable way to know they existed in advance.

    The whole coaster name fiasco is so stupid. Like anyone coming to a Universal Florida is going to say, Starfall Racers? Wait, isn't there a school in Colorado named Starfall? Think they're related? 😂 honest I think Cosmic Comets or Constellation Coaster is a better name anyway.
