You need natural cotton because that absorbes the moisture ofthe glue and becomes a hard structure. With polyester it wouldnt because there would be air inbetween 😊

I've seen cotton and liquid latex used before to make prosthetic makeup but I've never thought to use this method for sculpting figurines. I'm very inspired to make figures of my pets!

So cute!!! At the beginning of the video, I thought your hair looked cute, so you can tell your mom she did a good job :). My fiancé came in at the end and asked if you had made it from the fluff from your dogs. I think that would be neat to try. Also, when you said you didn't crush it when you dropped it, he said, "Naw girl, you DID crush that!", lol. So, it's fiancé approved! Thanks for making cozy, beautiful, little guys to share with us!

You did a really good job 👏 I have never seen so much glue used on these before, I have seen the glue used just to tie in the wisps of cotton so the end product still has a cotton feel.

First time seeing your channel because I'm on a spun cotton figure binge lol. I used unravelled cotton balls to make my ornaments and it worked out really well, and probably a whole lot cheaper than buying cotton batting. So thats an idea for you to try out if you wanted. Rosanna Makes is a really good channel to learn a few tips from, she has a lovely vintage childrens book illustration vibe to her creations (If that makes any sense?)

Omg I wanna make this now. I wonder if I can just get cotton balls from dollar tree and then some glue to try and make these myself 💜🥺 My mom would love little minis of our dogs

second, all videos of the puppies is good videos.

Very cute! This is the first time I had ever heard of using cotton to make sculptures! You could also leave the fur soft and just glue the back of it to the stuff that's fully saturated. That way you would not see the lumps and it would be even more realistic. If you need it to be certain colors you could dye it first. I might give this a try.

This is a few months too late. But I find priming with "phat paint" helps fill in all those holes to make for a smoother base to paint. Just mix your paint with a spoon full of joint compound to thicken it up, like tomato soup out of the can consistency.

Another difference between this craft and clay is that it's not as messy (I'm assuming)

The end result was so cute! Your poms are also super cute! Also, did you do your own nails? I really like the kitty illustration. Also, really admire your vintage art style. Take care!
