My guess is that the upper floors were added later, and the hydro was added as an shuttle elevator to go up to these floors (similar to The Grace Hotel, Sydney, with Otii for the main elevators and a DEVE-Schindler for the shuttle one)

I saw an elevator similar to the first one, except it was hydraulic, and I didn't ride it yet, because it is extremely loud. It serves 2 floors, and is at the Louisville Science Center in Louisville KY. I haven't seen most of the inside yet, the only information I can provide is that the lanterns only point in the down/up direction depending if you are on the 1st or 2nd level because they are above the door, and has a black and white linoleum floor.

The floor indicator on the traction model gets a tad flakey on the upper half of the garage, doesn't it (especially E to F)?
You rode the mechanical ones, but forgot the Man-Powered one next to it.

If you look at the indicator you can see some of the other letters show up on the same 7-seg digit.
I can tell the A-F traction elevators are relay controlled.

At Metrotown in burnaby BC canada they have a montgomary/thyssenkrupp modnorized by Dover but it got Modnorized at 2 months old

Hi DieselDucy, I have a question for you. At 0:40, there is a button on the panel labeled "RETURN". What exactly is it's function? Or is it even a button at all?
***** That's a good guess. Next time I see an elevator with a return button, I am going to see if it does anything or if it's even a button at all.
I am pretty sure that is a button and is used in fire service. I think when in Phase II fire service, that button can be pressed on any other floor than the fire floor, and the elevator will be returned to the fire floor for another fire fighter to use. I am not positive, but that would be my best guess.

True, sometimes only the letter G is used and that’s for the bottom most (often main) floor, usually in hospitals or on medical grounds
