    First 4 minutes of music had me hiding behind a cushion 😱 ominous threat of rabid haggis or similar! Thankfully all was well.

      I’m like that every time I set foot in the hills.. will there be rabid Haggis? 🥺

    Great little video this, very informative, which is brilliant for me as I’m putting the pins in these 2 on 21st of May. Thanks 🙏🏼

    Ive done my share of Munro bagging; its a good feeling resting your hand on the cairn. Also as I see you do it fluid and snack. Views are generally stunning - its the views I do it for.... great share of your walk thanks

      Thanks James.
      One of the most rewarding was the the Ben Bhuidhe climb.. It didn't promise much other than a lovely walk in. Almost at the top, the clouds parted and I was given the best inversion.. just wonderful up there that day.
      Are you up near Poolewe? lovely place to live.
      Thanks again for viewing.
      Jim

    How long did it take you to get from Vorlich to Stùc a' Chroin? I’m going up Vorlich on Saturday and just intrigued as to whether it would be possible to tackle two in one day

      Hi Amie. If memory serves, less than an hour from peak to peak, it looks more intimidating than it actually is. Definitely doable in a day. I did the loop, which whilst a little boggy, was a steady hike. 👍

    How was the wind at the top when you went? I went yesterday and it was awful, really scary 😟

      Was ok when up that hill. Worst one I've ever been on during bad weather/wind was the Cobbler few years back. Actually crawled up between the stones close to the top, then bailed down the mountain out of the wind. Lost my backpack rain cover.. 🤭⛈️

    Do you have to scramble back down Stuc a Chroin to go back via Vorlich or just down the gulley?

    • @BoredManOutdoors
      @BoredManOutdoors  Před 3 lety

      Hi. You can return the way you came or take the gulley loop back. There are other alternatives however, very poor underfoot if wet. 👍

    I tried to climb Vorlich this morning, and FAILED. It's my first Munro and one that was regarded as slightly easier. I got to 533 Meteres in 1hr. 20 and my legs had gave way. Back was hurting probably from a pack to heavy and my boots were killing my feet, from around 480m to 530 i was stopping every 10m to remove my back pack and let my legs settle. Then decided to head back. Came home extremely disappointed with myself. Think i might work on my fitness. Buying much lighter gear and taking up much lower hills and then come back and try again.

      Ahhh Allan. So frustrating. I used to climb hills in the lakes and North Wales - it always hurt. Particularly descending. I found Ben Chonzie reasonably easy. Not too far away. Bag weight and heat all play their part. I hate climbing in warm conditions. Recover well, as you say, consider your weight and try again. Good luck Sir.
