Los Angeles, California - We continue our Los Angeles Food Tour today on a mission to find the best burger restaurants in LA with good friends, @KimberleyCrossman and @nickygrex.
We traveled across the city to five of the most highly-decorated hamburger-focused restaurants to find out which one is truly the best burger in Los Angeles, California! Here are the five burger restaurants we went to in order of appearance:
Burger She Wrote - Located on Beverley Blvd, and a second location on Hollywood Blvd, Burger She Wrote is a snug, simple burger spot dishing up generous Wagyu burgers, plus Mexican sodas & handcut fries.
Burgers Never Say Die - One of the most hyped up burger joints in Los Angeles, Burgers Never Say Die is located way out in Silver Lake (Glendale). The restaurant serves classic burgers, patty melts, fries, and soft-serve ice cream.
The Apple Pan - Established in 1947, The Apple Pan is a Los Angeles Institution when it comes to hamburgers and apple pie. The Apple Pan is located in West Hollywood, and they're famous for their hickory burger and homemade pies.
HiHo Cheeseburgers - Santa Monica is home to a number of great restaurants, and as you can see from the video HiHo should be considered one of the best burger restaurants in Los Angeles. HiHo has multiple locations which serve delicious Wagyu Burgers and delicious fries.
Pono Burger - If you're looking for organic, grass-fed beef burgers, fries, shakes & beer in a funky, beach-themed spot; Pono burger is a great choice for restaurants in Santa Monica.
What other burger restaurants in Los Angeles did we miss?

Great video 🎉💪. Thanks 🙏 awesome channel.
I would love to try this place, but the best burger, I’ve had has to be Napa Valley Burger Company, hands down
This was one of our favorite food videos! The three of you have great chemistry together. All of you did an excellent job describing the food and everyone's sense of humor made it really enjoyable. Would love to see more with the 3 of you!
Whata fun crew to watch and live vicariously through:)
Congratulations, Kimberley! 🇺🇸 totally digging her vibe ✨ she’s gotta be in more videos!!
I completely agree! 🙌
I don't see a lot of you Garreth but I always enjoy your episodes. Kim was a fun and spunky addition to the gang.
Thank you Dexter! 👊
Thanks for taking us on another food tour. What I enjoyed best was the reactions everyone had to each burger.
Great video.. great chemistry with the team.
You're doing great! Loving these videos. Keep them coming 🙂
I appreciate it, Peter! 🙏
I laughed at your face every time Kimberley brought up McDonald's. The smash burger with caramelized onions at the first place looked amazing, but the ones at the fourth and fifth spots looked unreal, too! I'm definitely craving a good burger after watching this!
I know McDonald's is just a mass produced burger but sonetimes I crave a hot fresh Double cheeseburger from the McD. Nostalgia? Comfort? I don't know.
Oh the best day thanks for including me!!! #hiho
Your very beautiful and your charisma and personality made this video a whole lot better 💙👌🏽
Agreed. 🙌
Dude love your vids!!!!
You have so much heart, and that really shines through your videos! Keep creating!
Love the moment at 11:28! So genuine!
Its good that your visiting down here in LA; nice vlog; didn't know about these spots
Love these vlogs man!!
Thank you! 🙏
great vid! next time id like to see u guys review The Window
I love how you're reppin' my city. Subbed.
Great video and taste test!
Great video. If you ever do a part 2, hit up the following spots:
Heavy Handed, FTW, Win~Dow, and Irv's
GreaTTTT Videos my boy !! Thank You ! greetings from Colombia ;)
Just found your channel and subbed right away. My sister and I grew up in Buffalo but she's raised her family in Hilton for the last 25 years. I've lived in LA since 1990. Also I cook for a living. 😀
Great video. Love all of your guys personalities. Very fun.
Great vid guys, great chemistry. I've watched a few of your videos now Gareth (the San Diego burrito episode, I'm from SD and went to USD so I'm very familiar with Nicos and JV's. Also Santana's was a bomb Mexican food place) and they're a lot of fun, well done. Definitely going to check out HiHo burger!
Food trip recommendation: New Orleans. So many incredible spots, you'd love it, and you'd need about 4/5 days. It's a place that's hard to describe unless you go. If you do go, I got a killer circuit that I'd share with you!
I fuck with the energy!! This was great to watch and I live in LA but don’t really take the time to find spots like these! More of these with the same group pls! Stay blessed all of you!
This was so fun to watch, I loved the ratings and the Kiwi Kim made me laugh, well done team, great video
Thanks for tuning in Derek! It was such a fun day with this crew! 🙌
Good chemistry, the lady has great sense of humor!
The energy between you three is just hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂 The Hilton and the apple pie 😂😂😂
Gareth!! Next time you’re in LA you need to hit up the real LA spots. How about a part 2?? As a native and not an LA transplant may I recommend “For the Win” (Franklin Hollywood location), “Love Hour” with their amazing in house love sauce and homemade pickles, “Burgers 99” and “Goldburger”. Please, please give these LA staples a try. 🫶🏽
On .
LA Native here too… Father’s Office in Santa Monica makes my all time favorite burger.
💀 not a transplant, how’s that anything to be proud of lmaooooo
All of those are gentrifier spots (BNSD too). Not that they are bad, but they all cater to influencers. The Apple Pan is *the* real LA spot.
Tams burger or toms burger
My brother and I did a Los Angeles burger documentary in the 1990’s. Burger Town. Complete with original music and an extremely rare interview with Richard McDonald. Was lots of fun.
Loved this content and super helpful to know what eateries are genuinely delicious and have good value. Gareth is an excellent host and his friends were great as well. Super polished on camera so they must be content creators as well. I was a little confused though because I thought the friends were supposed to grade the burgers up to 5 stars -- but Gareth was grading based on a 10 star review. That is why his friends became confused at one point as to the numbering system being used. That aside loved the content and will be passing it on to friends. As well as subscribing. I would love to see an episode based on the best bakery and cakes in Los Angeles. Years ago, Sweet Lady Jane's on Melrose used to be the most delicious bakery -- but when it changed ownership a few years back it went downhill fast and became just mediocre. The new owners could not duplicate the original owner's recipes very well. So would love to know what is really good in LA now. Also would love to see an episode on what is the best garden or outdoor dining in Los Angeles or best overall ambiance. My favorite overall is the Chateau Marmont's garden dining. But would love to know more options. Thanks for the great content!
Gareth eats, Gareth drinks, Gareth this and that... I ll watch everything! 😊😆 Stuff is good, your videos is amazing man
Definitely knew you would love hi ho after seeing it came 2x2 with quality looking ingredients and perfect patty size
Nice, made onion burgers on a brioche buns tonight and they are always awesome!!
Great content. Every time someone says "great mouthfeel" I think about that Bob's Burger episode. lol
Gotta check out Hawkins in Watts if you do a Part 2 my favorite burger in LA
Loads of fun! I lived in LA and have not heard of these places except for Apple Pan. Definitely gonna try HiHo!
Loved this episode. Wish Hiho had a spot down in the the Southbay!
a Runaway Princess, a Vulcan and a Wizard! I LOVE thier vibe together! ❤
Your friends are amazing!
I agree, Tracey! 🙌
I didn’t realized you started a second channel. This was so fun to watch.
You found me! 😛 Haha, thanks for tuning in Jessica!
Kim is so hilarious 😂🥰 Kiaora and congratulations Kimmy 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Okay now I need to go to Burgers Never Say Die and take a pic with my Goonies tattoo that says Goonies Never Say Die. Thanks, Gareth lol
Haha, yes!! HEY YOUUUU GUYSSSSS!
We’re from LA but now live in Nor Cal. We come down at least once a year and I can’t wait to try HiJo burger !
Chur gurrrrl, good to see you out there!
Great work on this video, both entertaining and useful. I will be heading to HiHo shortly to see what it is about.
My favorite San Diego burgers from Rocky's Crown Pub, the downstairs cafe at the Torrey Pines Lodge (next to the putting green), Waterfront Bar & Grill, Hodad's, Duke's.
Need to add For The Win to this list to try. I've tried all of these burgers and that's my new top burger in LA!
Love the Kings Of Leon shirt! 😁
Great video, good commentators
Great reviews and you 3 were having so much fun! You need to do more shows together. But one thing...you guys didn't try Fatburger?!? Btw has Kim tried In and Out burger and fries? And if she has, does she like McDonald's over In & Out?
They are tourists, not Angelenos.
yall missed FATHER'S OFFICE and their OFFICE BURGER!! That's a chef's burger spot right here after hours.
Burger lounge also has great burgers
I do love LA burgers, I think my fave fast food version is the windows. U got it right starting at burger she wrote. LA prices ugh! As a suggestion, french dip sandwiches next time! yum!
Have you seen the iconic food video where we go eat French dip? So good!
@@GarethEats oh yeah, well put! best pizza? coz it doesn't exist in LA?
Couple of places that are my to go when craving Hamburhers;
Islands
Dennys
Sizzlers.
Sizzlers I haven't tried but it's been highly recommended.
OMG that was sooooo fun! You 3 are so wonderful to watch! I'd love to see you guys rate smoothies, chili bowls and ice cream sandwiches together! BTW I too love Hiho and Pono Burgers!
that McDonald's part was so funny!!! 😂🤣
If your on the Santa Monica area, you have to try Heavy Handed. One of my top spots for a burgers in L. A. for sure.
no doubt about it - Gareth is fun and gives "great show" - I myself detest Apple Pan but enjoyed the burgers at the Theme Building at LAX ==== it closed sadly!
Hahahaha favorite part. “I’m an AMERICAN on a burger 🍔 day let’s go buy a gun! Hahahaha awesome 👏😎 love your vids man and also the guest on this vids are such cool peeps. Thanks from Texas!
Will definitely hit these places up when in the LA area.
Haha, yes! Thanks for watching, it was such a fun day of gluttony! 😂
Bruh 😎 headed to my goto burgerJOINT (FuegoBurger) in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area later cause of y’all made me drool hahaha again bro another fantastic vid man. Keep it coming with your home good honest vids, Thanks again. I follow both of your channels. 🤙🙏
whoa WHOA!! Yall did not go to THE APPLE PAN and forgot to get a pie!!? hashtag tragedy lol. Great video guys!
My fav in-N-out, it’s convenient, fresh and reasonably priced, more so if you have a family to feed
Apple pie like home! 😮 I’m from Kendall and intimately familiar with Hilton Apple Fest. That’s a high bar my friend. Now in San Diego, looks like I need a trip to LA until October when I can have the real deal!
If you know the Apple Fest, you are a friend in my book! I love it!! 🙌
Isn’t anyone going to mention Tommy’s hamburgers? They are the most ubiquitous burger stands in the city. I’ll admit In-N-Out is my favorite, but there’s something about a Tommy’s chili cheeseburger.…
I have never understood the love for Tommy’s. Their burgers are legit gross. That chili is like school cafeteria chili. Bleh.
Some other super solid LA burgers: Father's Office, Plan Check and Win-dow!
We actually tried to visit Father's Office and they didn't want us to film... fair enough.
The “Cheddar Burger” at The York in Highland Park is the best. Father’s Office a distant second.
The Golden State is my favorite. Unfortunately, they closed during the pandemic, but they returned and now cook out of Cofax Coffee. Also, Pie 'N Burger in Pasadena is an LA institution. I'd rate them as solid, maybe slightly better than the Apple Pan.
Come on (ex) Kiwi Kim we do some great burgers here. The final Maccas (as we call it) apple pie comment was pretty funny. I have to admit I'm very fond of a Maccas apple pie shoved in a large caramel sundae... try it!
Love me some smash burgers, will definitely give some of these a try.
Same Charlie! Let me know which one you like best! 🍻
These look super good
🤣That girl is a trip!! definitely spiced up the episode lol
Gareth, The Apple Pan is an institution. Good choice going with the hickory. Nick being a Santa Monica resident shoulda taken you to R+D Kitchen for their phenomenal burger. HiHo is nice, but I think R+D is better. Also, next LA burger vid you have to go to The Window in Venice or Silverlake. Also 25 Degrees in Hollywood is a solid burger. P.S. Kiwi Kim is beautiful & funny. Good vibes. Hope to see you in LA again soon.
RD is wayyy better. i’ve been to hiho once when they first opened but thought it was awful. maybe it was an off day
@@WellActualllyyy I wouldn't call it awful, but it ain't R+D. That's a GREAT burger. One of the best in LA. Every time I'm at The Aero, I always hit them up. 😊
Hmmm...usually, I'm happy with Five guys...but...definitely intrigued me with Hiho and the last place with the truffle oil...
Asian food on Sawtelle Japan town, everything is great!! Great food crawl location
Yes! I want to make those videos next!! 😅
Well now I want a burger, so thanks for that.
Haha, you got it! Enjoy 🍔
@@GarethEats Ended up going to Freddy's in National City for lunch of one.
Hey Kimberley. You never tasted the Burgers from Bacon Bros in Christchurch NZ? There on Saint Asaph Street. Big juice tall burgers with the juice running down your hand. LOL
Great vid. You guy's have to head out to Chatsworth and hit up the Munch Box. You won't be disappointed...
Sounds like a euphemism for something else. 👀
These look like good spots, but I would have put Father's Office in the mix. Unless this was all westside, Amboy is a spot to try.
Love Amboy
Was very underwhelmed when I went apple pan. So bummed cause I wanted to love it
That HiHo burger had me drooling just looking at the cross section.
@errollleggo447. I’ve been to HiHo a couple times and the burgers are the best anywhere.
So lucky they look delicious.
Best channel ever.
Oh no, Kim, you've said the "M" word. 😁 No worries, I got the same reaction from Oz friends when I mention Foster's Lager. 👍
Goldburger in Los Feliz is my favorite.
Burgers never say die will always be my top. BUT it's second to Win-dow in Venice :) best smashies in the city
Good vid, but a shame you didn't try Father's Office, which I think is the absolute best burger not just in L.A., but that I may have ever had.
How did you guys missed Father's Office burger joint in Culver City and Santa Monica? No In and Out? Fat burger? Tommy's? And who recommended apple pan? lol good show everyone!
I would love to try this place, but the best burger, I’ve had has to be Napa Valley Burger Company, hands down.
The window. Best out of all.
"Burgers Never Say Die"🍔 im hungry😋😋🇵🇭🥰🥰
Check out Carneys next time. It’s fire!!! 💯
Love from India and I also like your second channel
Thank you very much! Hopefully I can feature Indian food and destinations soon! 🙏
Thanks for replying me
Man, those burgers looked good. Good crew too. Please give the price you paid for the food. Fun times.
I’m surprised when you went to Apple pan you just didn’t get the regular burger, you got the hickory burger. I like their burgers but it’s definitely not my favorite in LA
U need to try charbroiled burger spots.
How was the “Burgers Never Say Die”, shirt up pose not the thumbnail for this video?!?! 😂😂😂 🦊
Hahaha, that's a whole different kind of beef 😂
@@GarethEats Now everyone needs to compare the smash burger with the regular burger. Lets see what they prefer. Maybe you do a poll?
Kim's "girth" look.....right into the camera. 🤣
the apple pan is next level
1:21 He is like, Is it too late to deport her.
The Window beats out them all
Oh man, I gotta add this to Part 2! Thanks for the recommendation, Franklin! 👊
How do you only have 3K subs? You'll easily get past 30K by the end of this year.
Thank you! I just started this channel as a spin-off from my main channel (@GarethLeonard) to only focus on food here! I hope you're right about the 30K 😅
The best burger I had in my life was at CASSELLS BURGERS in HOTEL NORMADIE LOS ANGELES the burger and fries crunchy right amount salt not greasy to die for delicious 👍👍👍👍👍10 out of 10.
You found your kiwi cohost!!!!
Sure did! 🙌
Congratulations on your citizenship 🎉 🇺🇸 … I love when a beautiful young lady comes to the best country in the world !!! …
OC Burgers next!!!
Try Love hours !
Adding this to my list, thank you Vincent! 👊
