  • In this video I show you two methods to make your sectional garage door smart using a 15 dollar Shelly 1 relay switch. This works with most Hormann Supramatic garage motors. One method involves connecting the shelly directly to the garage door motor while the other is a little trickier but gives you more freedom on where to install it. Both methods can use Home Assistant or Shelly Cloud app. Home Assistant is more versatile as it gives you the freedom to integrate the Shelly with hundreds of 3rd party devices, for example you can add a Xiaomi Aqara door/window sensor and integrate it in an automation with the Shelly garage door opener.

Is this possible with a Shelly uni connected to the remote and a Shelly 1 to the motor?
I have two garage gates one external and one internal and have the internal working with the Shelly 1. Now trying to get the external garage door with the Shelly uni

As long as you can connect a physical button to "trigger", the Shelly Uni mit be the best option. I use it for garage door and for the gate.

Hi, I have a Hormann Supramatic e2 motor, with integrated receiver. After a power issue at home the motor got stuck in 1/2 open position and I had to do a reset and retrain to make the receiver work again. However now the dry contact (operated by a switch on the wall) is not operating the motor anymore. Any idea what could be wrong? I tried doing the connection directly on the motor's dry contacts, and it's not working either, so it's not the switch or the wire. Does this need to be reenabled somehow after a reset? Thanks and regards !

I have already installed the Shelly inside the motor, and now the the gate opens whenever the electricity go out and come again. Is anybody who has faced with the same problem? What is the solution?
