- All things Maintenance ranging from 1 to 2 to 7 years.
I attempt to cover all the maintenance that I am doing on my 2013 4.7L Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
Most of the maintenance items were picked up from Richard at www.redpants.lol Go check him out for parts you need. There are a few videos and write-ups of how-tos, but every different perspective helps. I'm more of a visual learner so hopefully, this will help someone out.

Thousands saved and makes you appreciative of the car even more. WIN WIN
Indeed it does! Also learning about the car gives me the ability to diagnose more easily in the future.
Fantastic Job. thanks for doing this.
Glad to have done it. Hope it is helpful down the road!
Great video and beautiful car.
Thank you!
U should always fill up the new oil filter with fresh oil as much as it'll hold. Even with the vantage having an oil priming extended cranking process used as standard procedure on oil changes, its always good practice to prevent as much dry cranking as possible.
All good practices, I have never personally done that, but it doesn't hurt.
Great Video
Fantastic work. I have the same Vantage as yourself and have learned a lot from you and your video thank you
These are fantastic cars! Glad these videos were helpful! Please reach out if you have any questions!
@@Hwang_Over I do like the lifting ramps you have to raise the car make more things accessible have you had the clutch up graded or still on the single plate clutch
@@lyndonwilliamson3781 Yes, I don't have enough height in my 2 car garage to get a 4 post lift which would be ideal. However, I purchased the new Quick Jacks TL which gives me 3 inches more than the original. Not sure if you have seen the Exhaust video I posted, but now looking back at it, I should have done the clutch. Its still strong so that will be a future swap. It will probably need with all of the increase in torque.
This gentleman also did not mention the oil priming process the advantage has. After performing an oil change, press and hold the brake For at least 10 seconds, and when you push the key in to start it, you press and hold it. And the engine will continue to crank until it builds up wat the ecu considers enough oil pressure. Afterwhich it allows it to fire up.
There are a lot of conflicting views on the priming process, I have talked with the Aston Techs locally here and they dont see a need to do that after an oil change. Unless you use a mechanism to fully flush out the oil, the residual is enough to have all of the parts lubricated. Also upon start up, the oil gets to the necessary parts within seconds. But to each their own on their own vehicles. Thanks for sharing.
Great video
Thanks! Hopefully helpful 😅
@@Hwang_Over it worked. Oil is changed
@@petergevaert Awesome! Great Job. Glad this helped
Now I am wating for the spark plug chance video!!
@@petergevaert Spark plug video starts at 13:24
There is no need to take off aluminum skid plate as it has a hole to drain oil reservoir . Saves some time
Agreed. That was my first time working on this, now I know!
@@Hwang_Over You did a good job and good video editing . Should have more views
@@JasonCZcams Thanks! Good thing I don't depend on my youtube channel for money lol ;P Its all for the community to have another perspective so that they can DIY themselves and hopefully be helpful. Im a visual learner myself so the more videos and pics the better for me.
hey andrew! can you share where you got the spark plugs? are these the AM specific or NGK?
this is such a great video of a solid maintenance! thanks for making the video.
Hey there - thanks! I bought them off of Richard from redpants. They are OEM spark plugs
shop.redpants.lol/product/spark-plugs-v8v/
Is this the same process for a 2007 4.3 litre v8?
Your oil change is going to be different than the 4.7L. You will have a bolt that is easily striped (be careful) and then filters that come out of the drain areas vs what you see in this video for the 4.7L. Im not too sure about your trans/diff (it should theoretically be the same), and everything else should be the same.
I have a asm sports shift . You said just bleed the clutch and your done . Ha ha. I need a scan tool . My automated hydraulic thowout bearing is timed and connected to brake module and solenoid transmission pack. I've been looking for videos on how to do that job. So far the dealer is the only option. Nobody has a clue how to work the even odd gear brake shift and how to get the fluid to start the clutch moving . I think I need a long tool to stick inside the bell housing to start pumping bearing. Who knows. I'll I know is I'm getting no fluid ti bleed . It's not easy.
Yea, the ASMs are a little more technical and from everything I've read, you need the Aston AMDS system to reset and purge. Part of the reason why I stayed away from SS, but also I need three pedals in my life!
@@Hwang_Over my SAS is bad my brake pressure sensor my pedal travel sensor on brake pedal is bad. Ss works with tool. But paddles just click. Nonshift. I wonder if brake issues can cause no shift . Also. Can driver door be open when shifting. I read door needs to be shut.
Your have a manual gear or ASM?
I have a 6 speed!
@@Hwang_Over so its sports shift not with the clutch paddle?
@@rafedzawawi6347 No, 6 speed manual. 3 pedals :)
BTW I didn't realize you could diagnose electronic components this way. I guess if it appears clean then that MUST mean they're workin well an producing the correct amount of voltage huh????
