For me it’s “I think he knows” because in the webcomic there’s a scene where Nick just got his license so him and Charlie are in the car and Charlie says “so where are we gonna go?” And Nick says “I don’t know” and it reminded me of the bridge of that song 😭

I loved this story to an embarrassing level. I have never seen a movie or show, (and I am a huge~! Book,
Theater, TV and Movie fan, I believe that the thing that separates humans from
animals is our story telling), where every single actor, every single seen and
every single cinema graphic was freakin PERFECT. This offering was cathartic for me. I have been out for 44 years, but this fulfilled something in me that has
been missing all along. I have seen several other gay love stories, but this is the
most innocent, sweet and wholesome love story I have ever seen. When I say that I loved it to an embarrassing level, (Dear God~!) I mean,
I binge watched it 8 times in a week and a half. (and I have only ever binge
watched one other show, ever, and that was only once through.) What sets this master piece aside from all other gay stories is both that
it is one of the first none tragic love stories and it has not one single seen
for the prurient of heart. Just awesome... Many tears of joy...

Bert, i've also view many "coming of age" gay theamed movies and series. This is the first truly "feel good" story i've seen.
I thought 'Call Me By Your Name" was perfection, until Oliver left and got married.They only part of the Movie that sucked, was the writers didn't explane that Gay/bi men and boys of the time period. (1980s) from that social setting, often were forced to betray their true feelings, and live a shallow life with a wife and kids and had secret tricks and boyfriends on the side. At least 1/2 dozen of my parents' friends were married and in the closet. I almost became a member of that club!

I am bi, but in my opinion the largest percent of bi's are able to love the opposite sex physically and emotionally, but not enough for a life patrner.
That is my observation after being out for 44 years, a bartender in a NYC Gay bar, and my own experience.
So, even though I was in high school in the 70s and had girl friends, I knew I wouldn't end up marrying one of them.

I kid you not, I found this this morning and have been watching and rewatching it for a couple hours now. It actually only just registered that it's been a couple hours and I'm supposed to finish my homework before tomorrow. I love this edit, I love how when Nick is telling Charlie he doesn't want to break up, the music stops, and then when they kiss, the music comes flooded back and it makes an already over-whelming scene even more overwhelming.

One of my favorite N+C edits!! Love the pairing of Nick's anxious testing of his feelings and the sparks that fly before their first (oh so passionate) kiss. And then later with the next two kisses where each take the other off guard. So well done!!

People who liked Heartstopper, I might suggest Love, Simon and Love, Victor. They're both wonderful stories too. Especially Love, Victor. In fact, it was through that that I found Heartstopper and binged it in a whole day yesterday... It was amazing.
I actually started off watching Love Simon, then watched some of Love Victor, and here I am now. Heartstopper is genuinely my new favorite series, I can’t wait for the new seasons ahead!

I have loved this story too an embarrassing level too .. although when you use the word “ love “ genuinely the adjective “ embarrassing “ fades away .. you won’t ever be able to love at an embarrassing level. I must honestly say that at first I felt really embarrassed.. I’m a 48 years old straight woman .. I have been moved in ways I had totally forgotten.. as if some sort of emotions were buried somewhere and the story of these two souls sort of resurrected them. Why do I have to feel embarrassed on front of a tv show that has been able to make me see what pure and simple love is? I even cried as Kit is so talented with his portrayal of nick that .. being able to feel certain emotions just by looking at kit face’s expressions was totally mind blowing.. I guess I sort of journeyed back to my old day, I sensed a familiarity of feelings that were sort of suppressed by this new era. The story of nick and Charlie has given a vision of love that applies to “ everybody “, aside for the intended purpose of giving the LGBT community a voice .. but overall it speaks to all human race. Superb !
The thing I loved most about this story is that nick fell in love with Charlies Softness of heart and his kind and gentle nature. And not his genitals.
I pray they never do a sex scene. I am afraid to watch any more of the story because it meant so much to me and I pray it does not become tawdry or defiled in anyway.

So... I continue to hope they won't be radicals.
They deliberately chose to make the tv series more family-friendly so I doubt they would do that.
The graphic novels actually contain a fair amount of swear words which the tv show wisely removed and frankly I think the show is all the better for it... as the swearing doesn't really add anything to the story at all. And it also shows that you can actually express thoughts and feelings in an impactful way and drive a point home without the need for effing and blinding.
And frankly with all the shows out there at the moment focussing on teenagers, it's rather refreshing not to hear the F word spoken like 10 times in every other sentence.
Where the graphic novels are currently up to (Alice Oseman is still working on the 5th and final book)...Charlie and Nick are just now broaching the subject of taking their relationship to the next level and doing more intimate things with each other however, I'm positive that if they reached that stage in the show... any love scene between Charlie and Nick would be done tastefully and sensitively. It may even be more of a "behind closed doors" act and we just see them in the afterglow of their 'love scene' - kind of like 'Call Me By Your Name'?

As a 29 year old lesbian: I almost didn’t watch this show because I was scared to be disappointed. Most of the films out there for us are absolutely horrific, sloppy, and full of misrepresentation.
