As a beginner, I find the Circuit Tracks to be Perrrrrrfect. You can start doing so much with so little that it makes playing electronic music seem possible for those who have merely dreamed of doing it. I love my DFAM and Neutron and but I wished I'd gotten the Tracks first. I would have been able to do so much more so much more quickly. I actually love the DFAM first and foremost but, as a learning and creative tool, the Tracks is awesome. If you're interested in doing this stuff and feel clueless about where to start - this is it. Then, after a few months, get a DFAM! Great video, by the way. You helped me figure out side-chaining and scenes!
circuit tracks ability to sequence AND process the audio of two outboard synths is just so incredible. I'm primarily a guitar player, but have a microfreak, as well. I love the idea of routing my guitar and MF into the circuit, having a bass and pad going on the circuit tracks, arp going on the microfreak, and a lead part on guitar. Doing that without a dedicated mixer is just amazing.

I understand you can now store multiple patch/sample/session packs on the one machine. Can you mix and match patches from one pack with samples from another and sessions from a third?

Hey! When you hook up a midi keyboard can you use and record the pitch and modulation wheel? Maybe aftertouch, sustain pedal?

I understand that this is a pretty old vid now, But my son is wanting a Circuit Rhythm or Tracks. What is the best option for a 13 year old beginner that can already play piano?
Tracks is a better starting point. Rhythm can get frustrating with tuning samples etc for a beginner.
Ok where do you live, and do you have a chimney or a large aeration vent ? just asking for a friend.

Not individual sounds however you can try to use the velocity option to make your hits quieter or louder.
Hey man, thanks for the video. It looks like you're getting bombarded with questions, but from someone who actually HAS a Circuit tracks, have you been able to use the components software? Cause I am having a hard time just getting the free sound bank loading. The Retromod 106 from traction if you didn't know. Components is only loading "circuit tracks" files. Like seriously, that's what its called when you try to add its only circuit tracks in the file type selection tab. It doesn't let you change to all types.
If you have added any samples please lmk HOW you figured it out. I'm going back and forth between novation and I'm starting to think about just returning it altogether for native instruments or another groovebox. Thanks man
You can't load patches for other synths on any synth :/

@@jordanWAH I got confused as you mentioned the retromod 106. Well I'm still confused about that but I understand your problem now. Circuit tracks doesn't accept it circuit packs HOWEVER you should be able to open the pack on the circuit component page (the original) and download individual patches as .syx and then use each individual syx file to load it to circuit tracks. @@cokecl you're tellin me! I just assumed since it came free with the circuit they were compatible. I mean circuit tracks IS basically using samples, but it's not as simple as any sampler. Plus the downloader for retromod is simply awful! it took forever to get just 3 downloads to finish without failures.
so needless to say I have YET to use the free mod. but since this was my third ovation device free software I don't use is par for the usual :/
@@jordanWAH Oh, retromod is a plugin for computers, no way to use it on the Circuit. The Circuit tracks only has one shot samples, you can't use them melodically (as in playing it on a keyboard), the circuit rhythm will do that, but still is not the same as the retromod as they usually have different samples for each key and each velocity...
Hi Taetro. Could you tell me what adapter you’re using on the launch key midi out? I bought one and cannot get it to work with my circuit tracks
I use the breakout cables that came with the circuits - some breakout cables have a reverse polarity so they won’t work INCLUDING the breakout cables that came with the OG circuit

no, it is not integrated, you can use it as a midi controller, but not for lunching clips / controlling devices unless you find a third party remote script or you program it yourself.
Is there fixed chord mode in the circuit tracks?
