I hope Alonso doesn't leave, he's so underrated by so many Chelsea fans but he's a great player in the right system and always scores alot of goals for a fullback. Too many people judge him on his lack of pace
Alonso has been great for us, but his time is up. There is a reason why we fell off so bad last season once chilwell got injured. We need an upgrade to cover for chilwell if he gets injured again.
His inability to dribble or overlap hurts the team in the way its set up, but his timing of arrival in the box, smart passing, finishing ability and free kicks still place him above most of the average replacements that we could purchase. Too often he isn't given credit for his quality and if he leaves, we will lose a top tier player.

people bash him but it's not like an average left back like Emerson, Baba Rahman would be anywhere near as good
he's a lot less useful than Chilwell but elite left backs don't come cheap (that said, keeping Livramento and moving him to the left would surely have been better, or converting a CM like City did with Zinchenko)
@@mxchael8318 His time is up? And what happens if Chilly gets injured again? Like OP said, the guy is great in the right system and I feel he would be great as a a back up to Chilly, not sure why some fans like yourself want to get rid of him so fast when there really isn't anyone to take his spot.
