    One trick for regular nail polish that is close to being perfect but not quite pigmented enough for stamping is to leave the cap off and let it thicken up a bit. In general, if a polish looks like a one coat wonder, it usually stamps pretty well for me.

    I have only used regular nail polish with stamping. The best I have found so far are Maybelline Color Show, Sally Hansens Insta-dri, Pure Ice, Broadway Nails and Sinful colors!! I just recently got some stamping polish from Mundo de Unas and cant wait to try those out.

    I've always used regular polish for my stampers and I generally prefer either color club (mostly the solid colors),china glaze or just (and mainly) kleancolor polishes since they're very thick and pigmented they work perfect plus they're super cheap

    fantastic video... love the base on some of your sticks too! how you did the multi colour ones? is it with pigments... thanks for sharing... is so great especially for the people who start and are at the beginning of their stamping adventures, to know they can use just regular polish...
    I often use regular polish on my designs... I tend to use only the white and black 90% proper stamping polished unless am aiming for a more subtle effect, then I use regular polishes as well... but all in all I try to show affordable ways of designs... so this video really made me happy to watch! 👍 xoxo

      Gelulicious That's been a bit of a snag for me as well.I adore the range of colors that are sold in the $ stores but the quality is such that it is either too thick or eats away the 1st coat when you put a second-ends up a streaky globby mess and not at all slick and sleek ,no matter how long you sit and let dry.I am just going to buy one per month of the OPI shades that I love.(Im on a fixed retirement income)..Are there any tips for how to prolong and keep these expensive lovelies "fresh" and wonderful to use as long as possible? Any tips or hints are appreciated by this "nail art newbie".Thanks to your videos and others who give of their time and expertise,I think I'm doing ok...And love doing it!

    Yay 😊 thanks for the shout out!!!! 😘 It's weird because I've just done a stamped mani this weekend purely using Essie polishes to see how it would go and I was really pleased with it. I've done it on Essie ruffles and feathers base and it's like a Jade green (so not really light) but I like how it turned out. I actually like that the stamping isn't in your face bold but more subtle. And I said to myself I should try and do more Stamping with just regular polish and see how I go! (great minds think alike) anyway TFS 🙋🏻💕

    I bought 2 silver polishes last month 1 Was moyou london for £5 and the other sally hansen which was £2 on offer on amazon and much as I love moyou london the sally hansen one wipes the floor with any silvers I have used ever. On black it is totally crisp and clear, fantastic pick up too. I'm a stamping snob and if there are any blemishes in isn't at all ill start again but with this I have never had again problem , I've used it with cheep plates and my fave born pretty ones with no difference between the 2 xx

      T b h I've never really liked sally hansen polishes but the silver one is Gr8 for stamping and some of the others are when I add pigments ,I tend to buy them if they're on offer and play with them but not if they're full price , I bought some little stampng polishes from eBay last week just because they're only £2 and I try at least one cheepy one a month and I was pretty impressed, they're called kand nail ,sometimes I unearth some really good ones when I do a budget try out

      MizzRivera86 check three things :
      1. Plate - is it clean with deep etchings?
      2. Stamper - is is clean, smooth and sticky? Too hard or soft?
      3. Polish - is it pigmented enough, drying too quickly or not enough left in plate wells?
      Nerd to work very quickly as the polish is so thin and will dry very quickly!

    Super good to know, but uh, you use too much polish on the plates... You don't need to cover the whole pattern.

    • @PinkPanther70
      @PinkPanther70 Před 5 lety

      I didn't use to cover the whole pattern either, but since I started using more polish and covering the whole area, my stamping became much, much better.

    • @TallulahFoxxx
      @TallulahFoxxx Před 2 lety

      Not strictly true. If the plates are deep cut, you’ll often get uneven depth if you don’t fill the entire design with polish first before scraping. Once you then transfer it to the nail, it might have uneven opacity because some areas have thinner coverage than others.
