I can assure this was a similar emotional rollercoaster to draw than it is to watch! Ravenpaw was (and will) always be one of my favourite Warriorcats characters and therefore it's just natural that I'll do a full piece of him. I drew him once few years ago but that pic was one of those boring emotionless images I did back then so this time I apparently wanted to make myself cry. The setting is the one when Firepaw and Graypaw leave him to Windclan's border to seek for Barley and a better life. However this pic is not only about that. It's (as the name suggests) also about Ravenpaw's farewell. I haven't yet read that book yet (but soon will as I found a way to buy the e-books yay!) but I know what will happen, and I know I'll tear up.

After drifting away from the world, the last thing Ravenpaw had seen was barley. Before going to starclan, Ravenpaw decided to take one last visit to the barn. He may have died in skyclan, but the barn was where he had felt at home. He sat at the edge of the field, watching the lightning strike in the cloud. Rain dripped down his starry black pelt and his tail curled in a puddle. He stood. He walked through the fields as he had done millions of times before. Only this time, he couldn't feel the the drizzle of the cold rain, or the scratch the wheat. Just warmth. Cold, dark, lonely warmth. Warmth he would never again share with Barley on a cold winters night. He stepped into the barn and saw Barely. He walked over to see his old friend one more time. He sat next to the spotted tom. He smiled. "May starclan light your path, Barley." and with the breeze he was gone. Barley was alone. Ravenpaw was separated from his friend by death.
Farewell.

I really love how this illustrates not only the fear and urgency of Ravenpaws departure, but also the sadness and loneliness of him having to leave his friends and family. Sometimes I feel like I forget that Ravenpaw didn't just leave behind Tigerclaw, but also everyone and everything he had known and loved.

And with the clans moving to a far off land, Ravenpaw was left to watch his old world fall to the rise of the twoleg machines, his companion growing older to the point of death taking him away. Ravenpaw's life was to be lived out in solitary. Only the company of rainstorms and lightning strikes to remind him of his life in thunderclan before the seperation as he could now never go back to a place he had once called... home.

I remember reading this in 4th grade, and I was so sad when RavenPaw left. He was my favorite character in the books, and to have him go to the farm, and then in season 2, The New prophecy was, when he turned down the chance to be in the clan again was heartbreaking. And then now people on the internet will be like, "Wow, this person has problems" So yea..
This actually makes me really emotional because on the first song it reminds me in my old school I had really great friends and I had to leave all that when December came by when we had to move and I'll might not see them again. I just have this special connection to ravenpaw when he had to leave his home and friends behind.

I'm so sad, Ravenpaw was one of my favourite characters and when he had to leave the clan i was practically heartbroken for the rest of that book.

This is so beautiful! Ravenpaw is my absolute favourite warrior cat. When I read warriors, he instantly became my favourite and he always will be. This is one of the very best pieces I’ve seen of him! Thank you for drawing the best little barn cat ever ❤️

I cried while watching this. Mostly because of the song, but Ravenpaw is literally my favorite cat in the book.
This is my favorite warrior cats speedpaint yet. You can't even see his face, and yet the emotion is so strong and apparent, that you can almost put yourself in his shoes (Or paws, rather). This is one of the few speedpaints that I personally believe to be a true masterpiece(Not that my opinion really matters). Well done, friend.
This is so beautifully painted it made me want to cry. Ravenpaw found a better life with Barley, but....him leaving everything he ever knew, his family, his friends just...kills me.

I miss Ravenpaw, he had the chance to go back and he never did, it squashed my heart. The moment he saw Tigerstar kill changed his whole life. He had only wanted to go out on a patrol but little did he know that would change his life. Love you Ravenpaw, you were very much loved and forever will be.
This brings back so many memories. OH the nostalgia! Even though I own the books and could read them at anytime I still only see the new covers and know that I'll never truly relive that first time reading them

This is amazing! I never knew our species of humans were this far into artistic paintings like this one! I am still bad at drawing cat bodies even though I am alright at drawing their heads.
