When you mentioned secondary vocals being a bit buried that section actually is intended for two. They used to have and now do have two backing vocalists again. During the time period of this video the third person actually wasn't miced because she was just there to fill the choreography as one of the members had left due to health. It does sound a bit lonely.

BABYMETAL is the best thing in music in years. These adorable little foxes brought the world to its knees SINGING IN JAPANESE! Do you guys realize how difficult this is? You have to have a lot of talent. Almost 10 years have passed and Karate sounds like killer modern rock, on video and audio. The “haaaaashireeeee” part always gives me goosebumps. Su's voice here is at the top. Yui, we will never forget you, cute little fox🦊Thank you for all!

Singing in Japanese isn't so hard if you are Japanese. How about if you're Korean? Have you heard of YENA? She's a Korean pop singer that sings in English, Japanese and Korean. This is her latest, DNA, which is a combo of Japanese & English. It's a pretty catchy pop/rock song.

Japanese is not that hard to sing in, if anything it's easier to sing in because there's less hard consonants against each other.

I'm not sure, but I guess the OP meant getting popular outside Japan singing in Japanese. Not that Japanese is a hard language to sing in.

Karate is always firmly in the middle of their set. They do a lot interludes. They are very theatrical and love to build tension but also they need some breaks because of all the choreography

Good reaction, thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL.
This footage is from the concerts 10 BABYMETAL Budokan held in early 2021 to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Due to the pandemic, several strict policies where placed, including the reduction to the capacity to the half and attendees having to wear two face masks: their own and another one provided by the organization. Shouting and talking aloud was forbidden so, they had to play the "crowd noise" recorded from previous performances of each song live directly at the venue. I guess no one want to perform to a silent audience. It may sound weird but they commented that it's a huge amount of work. And since you are a sound engineer I thought you would like to know it.
Is this what they do? What to expect? It is what they do... and they do a lot more. They are also very diverse musically since they don't hesitate on mixing any music genre with metal (any subgenre). So, always expect the unexpected. 😁
    Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey!
    🤘🦊

Nice, great reaction! Babymetal are 13-year veterans now, starting in 2010 at the age of 12/11. A live performance powerhouse with 9+ years of world tours, 4 albums, and 60+ songs.
Here’s 2 suggestions if you want to experience the scale of how epic they are:
*Road of Resistance (Official, Live):* Jan 2015 performance when they were much younger. A super fast paced power metal anthem, and a staple show closer for almost a decade now.
*Monochrome (Pia Arena MM, 2023):* A mid-tempo hard rock song with a heavy metal elements. A newer song, and a more mature feel, emotional and epic at the same time.
Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
Glad to see you got this recommendation from your subs, you're about to get in a wild journey and probably you don't wanna miss the chance to see them live like many reactors already did with the World Tour 2023, more is coming this year.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st recently.
*YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
    About this song:
Budokan 2021 marks their 10 years anniversary celebration and seal the Metal Resistance chapter along with another seal for the group, fortunately that seal is already broken since 2022, they released new singles and kick start of their new era, get ready for a new BM side we've never seen before. Ending January 2023, they held two live concerts marking their return after almost two years since this Budokan live concerts, later in April they came back with more live shows and starting the World Tour.
They fought against many enemies on this road and many more battles, but they manage to get through all of it, and this song is one of those strong weapons they had, to fight and conquer every metal heart that don't believe in them, you probably already know Road Of Resistance if not I highly recommend to check it out. Budokan is just a name for general martial arts place, there are other Budokan throughout Japan but this one in Tokyo is the most important and is big, this is the place any artist wants to reach when you're over the top, and they did it already in 2014 when they were even younger and having many struggles so they needed a revenge to pull away those ghosts from the past.
Karate lyrics is about keep fighting despite the obstacles but always looking for your friends help, that's why you see them helping each other in the bridge section, although if you look for the official MV you'll see revealing that there's no harder enemy than yourself.
Try also to look for live at Download Festival 2016 version, is even more beautiful during the bridge and with the full original trio.
    Next suggestion:
    - Road Of Resistance, live in Japan official live MV 2015, careful with the copyright blocked by putting some filters and watermarked logo.
I'm gonna try to leave in my next comment where to get clips safe to react without falling on live compilations when is unnecessary.
    .
    See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Here's the list of live performance clips usually safe to reacts without any filters so you won't need to rely on live compilations, there might be some exceptions:
      - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997, SuMetal 16th Birthday in 2013, they got MV of this and is fun, but live is a blast.
      czcams.com/video/LNFiDWJh2FA/video.html
      - Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo.
      czcams.com/video/g2372C5PJLM/video.html
      - Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but is usually blocked if you don't put filters, so if you want live and safe to react, check it out Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/dU38CYkpBvI/video.html
      - Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997.
      czcams.com/video/nwsinmxTxbo/video.html
      - Babymetal Death, live at Legend 1997, this is the big finale, you're gonna blow your mind with this one.
      czcams.com/video/jRc9dbgiBPI/video.html
      - Catch Me If You Can with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/ng8U_j0gpLI/video.html
      - Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes the official live MV isn't so friendly so you know what to do.
      czcams.com/video/Ro-_cbfdrYE/video.html
      - Rondo Of Nightmare, with Mischiefs Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014, another SuMetal solo but way different than usual happy songs.
      czcams.com/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/video.html
      - Doki Doki Morning, official MV, their very first song and MV full of kawaiiness, usually is safe to react so try it, if you want a live performance, this is the first proshot version with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 (YuiMetal and MoaMetal 14th birthday).
      czcams.com/video/BSjv9OYtWZ0/video.html
      - Uki Uki Midnight, this one is a follow up to Doki Doki Morning but way different sound, this is the PV, is super fun but the sound isn't so great but at least is live.
      czcams.com/video/Yj-UQIlqsIQ/video.html
If you want better sound with the Kami Band, then live at Budokan 2014 it is.
      czcams.com/video/ESzY9dL613Q/video.html
      - Onedari Daisakusen, live at Legend 1997, this is a Black Babymetal song, is a subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal.
      czcams.com/video/1dT1ywYR5So/video.html
      - Iine! again official MV hits way better but if you want live, here live at Budokan 2014.
      czcams.com/video/5sCvYVNeD0w/video.html
      - Karate live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got this with a short interview intro.
      czcams.com/video/FKOL6v3Md2c/video.html
      - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official, this one is easily to find but be careful with the blocked by putting some filters just in case.
      - Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, not sure if it's still safe, so try some filters, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
      czcams.com/video/M8FKumvh-w8/video.html
Here's a song you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource (BMRR), a helpful place to get watermarked logo clips of the original live version to curve the annoying algo.
      - GJ! live at Wembley Arena 2016, another Black Babymetal song.
      czcams.com/video/Hg0Rylcg8F0/video.html
This is BMRR short vid to follow instructions and get the spreadsheet with the full list.
      czcams.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/video.html
And here's a BM guide (the long one).
      czcams.com/video/gDne0xwniTg/video.html
There's a more recent beginners guide at "Briaghh" called "So... What is BabyMetal?" is more short and with some fair update until this year unlike the other one.

Budokan was built specificly for the 1964 Olympics in order to present Japanese martial arts to the world (The greatest octogon of all!). Shortly after, the Beatles performed there, followed over time by many great bands, many of which recorded famous albums there (think, CHEAP TRICK, Live at Budokan.) The venue is "invite only", and only the greatest acts are allowed to grace its stage.
BABYMETAL has performed there many times...

They always have a fantastic stage setup. It's hard to recommend just 1 or 2 songs because they are all different in their own way, but I'll try. Check out Metalizm or PAPAYA for some awesome live stage graphics. Rondo of Nightmare with (Kami band solos), any version of The One or Metal kingdom for a theatrical dreamscape. Or just listen to the girls perform a plain stripped down emotional '1st take' version of Monochrome and understand why we call Su-Metal our Queen. Sorry but I have to do a plug for my favorite Japanese girl band, BAND-MAID !!!

    Thanks for this reaction.
This was part of a 10 concerts show at this venue, to celebrate their 10 years of existence.
The opening songs were actually... interesting, because their is no singing
The songs were not the same for all shows, but it was just 2 songs for all shows combined: In The Name Of and Babymetal Death (shin version, only performed at these shows). Especially In The Name Of has a great stage show and Babymetal Death probably has a more audio focused song aka heavy.
Sadly these shows had just 1 of 2 singers, euh.. on the side. Their used to be an other but she left because of health reasons a couple of years before this show. And other was added last year, it's actually the other young lady dancing here. So she was working with Babymetal before. Anyway... 2 voices works better for that. The reason her voice isn't as prominent is probably because they use head microphones, which clearly are not idea, they are omnidirectional and thus pick up a lot of stuff you don't want and have to deal with it somehow... so lower in the mix is part of the the solution they take.
The venue was made for the 1964 Tokyo Summer Olympics, to be used for martial artists, especially Judo... so it's an even better fit than you'd think. 🙂
Actually, some of us believe the song Karate was made for the Tokyo Olympics of 2020, because Karate would be introduced as a new Olympic sport.
7:04 I can't imagine how much planning goes into doing a show like this !
10:42 yes, Babymetal music is often, for lack of a better word, designed, that way, to accentuate her clarity in singing voice even more.
If you want to read an industry article about Babymetal in tpimagazine about a show in 2016 which you can read online you can see what they used at the time, etc. They don't use the same people and probably also not the same equipment anymore, the 2020... euh... situation, changed a lot of things, also for Babymetal who they tour with.

Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘 Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance!!! BABYMETAL is a Japanese kawaii (cute) metal group (a metal subgenre that they created) that formed in 2010 when the 3 girls were 11-12 years old (yes, they were very young), and since then have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. They are the first Japanese band to perform at Wembley arena in the UK. Also, 20+ awards have been given to them. They have 60+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too. Also, they released a new amazing album last year and they just finished a world tour where they had many shows here in the US. They also recently released a new live music video for their song called "Metali" that features Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello. 🤘🦊🤘

While Babymetal is usually best experienced live as a big part of all their songs is the performance and the audience interaction, Karate is one of the songs that has a killer music video that is definitely worth seeing. I highly recommend you check out the video as well if you get a chance. It is from a while ago, so it is back when the girls were just like 13/15 year old (and has Yui on the left instead of Momoko as you saw in this later live performance.)

Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 No this was not the start of the concert, it will have been somewhere around the half way mark. They do have a few of those extended intros, it gives them (and especially the audience) a chance to catch their breath and take a sip of water between songs since they are singing live while keeping that same energy up and they have bespoke choreo for every song throughout the whole concert.·
The name BABYMETAL is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were aged 12 and 11 so it probably did play a part too). The name was chosen for two reasons:
    - to symbolise that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal)
    - because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun):
    BABYMETAL = ベビーメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru)
    heavy metal = ヘビーメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru)
BABYMETAL are like nothing you will have seen or heard before, they don't limit themselves to any one main style or genre and you won't be able to pigeonhole or put them in any one box like you can with virtually every other band in the world, they are one of a kind and they invented their own genre and style that nobody has been able to copy successfully (some have tried, none came close) including bringing choreographed dancing to metal (but not as you might know it from pop acts where it is nearly always used just to fill the stage or give you almost naked girls to look at to take your mind off bland music).
'Karate' was the lead single for their second album released 2016. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture (they hoped people would take an interest in that too) - and like the song it is also about always moving forwards.
BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist) and Moametal and, since April 1st last year, Momometal (backing vocals, harmonies but mainly in charge of dance, leading the audience, getting everybody involved and joining in - audience participation is a huge part of what BABYMETAL are all about).
The third original member, Yuimetal, sadly left the band in October 2018 having been absent from the stage for the previous 12 months. She had ongoing (and undisclosed) health issues.
Su and Moa continued as a duo for the next 4 or 5 years, supported by 3 dancers (the Avengers) dancing in the third spot (it was the same one, Momoko, from about February 2020 and she was in the third spot for this performance. As an Avenger she did not sing, so the backing vocals were only from Moa here - and yes her mic was a bit too low. Originally it would have been both Moa and Yui providing those vocals and it does sound better with two of them).
They teased the reveal of a new third member in April last year - happily it was Momoko, so she is all mic'd up and singing as well as dancing now.
They are supported in live shows by the Kami Band - some of Japan's very best session musicians, each one of them a world class instrumentalist. They were phased in gradually from October 2012. BABYMETAL had started in 2010 with little or no budget so they sang to a backing track at the start and when they started doing their own small shows guys in skeleton suits (known as Babybones) would pretend to play the instruments.
The Kami Band played at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows and became the full time support for all live shows at the start of 2014 and have been with BABYMETAL ever since - but only for live shows, they do not record the studio versions.
In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and they have been supporting BABYMETAL on their more extended foreign tours since then.
BABYMETAL formed in 2010 when Su was 12, Yui and Moa were 11. Kobametal (their producer) was so impressed with the vocal talents and stage presence of a young girl (Suzuka Nakamoto) when he saw her with her previous group that he thought she would be wasted in pop and could do something with the music he liked (he is a lifelong metalhead). She inspired his idea for band fusing metal with Jpop hooks, melodies and aesthetics with her fronting it as lead vocalist.
He got his chance to work with her when Su joined a newly formed group set up by the Amuse talent agency to coach and train about a dozen of the most talented 10 to 15 year old girls on their books in all aspects of entertainment (acting, singing, dancing, writing, stage management and so on) with a view to them finding what they might want to do to start or continue their careers in entertainment with Amuse when they reached 15 and would finish their compulsory education.
He set up the heavy music club as a sub-unit of the group with Su as lead vocalist and her two young friends supporting her with backing vocals, harmonies and, something not often seen in metal, choreographed dancing.
By 2013, when it was time for Su to leave the parent group since she was 15, BABYMETAL had found their own audience, so it was decided they should split from the group to be Su's vehicle as she furthered her career as a vocalist.
In 2014 they started to tour outside of Asia and Japan for the first time coming to Europe and the US and since then they have won new fans all over the world and become internationally the most successful Japanese band ever and one of the very best live bands on the planet right now - their 3rd album released in 2019 was the first by any Asian group to reach number 1 in the US Billboard Hard Rock charts.
They have nearly 70 songs now, every one of them is different. They have songs in virtually every metal genre but will mix in other musical styles and genres with the metal, often when you least expect it. Some songs lean towards their pop roots others are just good hard metal and they do everything in between - so if you don't like one song no problem - try another, the chances are you'll love it.
I expect you will be getting a lot of suggestions for more songs, you can hardly go wrong with whatever you choose since they have no fillers, but it is possible some songs may appeal to you more than others. The official videos are all very good and worth seeing, but BABYMETAL are a live performance act and live is where you will see (and most importantly hear) them at their best ... just avoid any Glastonbury videos as the BBC live stream did a really bad job with the audio there and the crowd was not a metal crowd.
So you can get a better idea of the Kami Band I will suggest maybe 'Rondo of Nightmare' live at Budokan Black Night (same venue as this, but 7 years earlier) with the Kami band's instrumental 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' intro. The song is a Su-metal solo (she was only just 16 - Yui and Moa were still only 14 and getting a well earned rest back stage).

    Welcome to FOXHOLE
You are on the edge of the abyss and there is no escape
Each song seems to be the beginning of the concert, they usually come and go during each song, giving that feeling.
It seems like a fight scene, because it really is, This is the mythical Budokan, an octagonal amphitheater, built for martial arts tournaments.

Ah you may think that you know what to expect from Babymetal now.. but trust me, you don't :D
I've followed and listened to them almost from the very beginning, and even when I listened to their 4th album last year, they keep surprising me. If you keep going down the foxhole that is Babymetal, you'll find that almost every song is different from the last because they take their influence from many different genres and cultures. You've only just scratched the surface for now and I highly recommend that you keep reacting to them. And if you do, in most cases I recommend live videos because half the experience when it comes to Babymetal is watching them perform.
Welcome to the foxhole. Cheers from Denmark 🦊

Karate @ Budokan 2021. Su-Metal [Single Ponytail] & Moametal [Double Ponytail] are the original members of Babymetal. Momokometal [Freehair] is the Avengers. "Karate" is a song by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal from their second studio album, Metal Resistance. Babymetal is the only metal 🤘 band that has a full set of choreographed dance moves which catered and suited for every songs which credited to Mikikometal for the choreography. "Karate" also features djent-like riffs and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion." “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song @ the 2016 Annual Loudwire Music Awards. BABYMETAL is the youngest act to perform at the Budokan and artists need to be invited to perform there.
•Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues.
•A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple.
    Song Notes:
-The song debuted live at Yokohama Arena "The Final Chapter Of Trilogy" on December 12, 2015.
-The song debuted as digital release to promote "Metal Resistance" on February 25. 2016.
-Karate was released as second track of "Metal Resistance", on April 1, 2016.

    Welcome to the Foxhole! 🤘🦊🤘
This was at the Tokyo Budokan Arena, which was built in the sixties as a martial arts arena for the Olympics and has been a prestigious invite-only venue for artists to aspire to perform at. Moametal (the one with the headset mic) still holds the record for being the youngest female artist to perform at the Budokan in 2015(I could be off by a year here) when she was 14 or 15 years old and Babymetal is the youngest female group to perform there.
This show(s) was in 2021 during Covid restrictions when they performed 10 shows to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. The venue was at half capacity for social distancing and everyone had to be double-masked, could not shout (crowd noise was pre-recorded and fed through the PA for effect).
If you think lead singer Su-metal's voice is in the higher range, you will have no idea until you hear "From Dusk Til Dawn". 😉
That said, I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information.
BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin.
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Former member since 2018: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks.
Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs.
** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal).
Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts.
Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs.
Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot!
Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch.
BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows.
AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the fans who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021.
    They were:
    Momoko Okazaki (see above).
Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist.
Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was Student Council President her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive.
    We are #notacult.

No, in fact this ist even their show opener anymore, instead they dropped this song completly and gave it to their second unit (Metalverse). With 4 albums they have more than enough songs, they couldn't handle more than 90 Minutes per evening anyway. Her voice has a range of 8 octaves, so she can switch, but she didn't in this old song.

I think Key Kobayashi would at it as his own Tool. You mustert forget he has now the job to make Metalverse work. Yes at the Moment there is BabyMetal that earns money
but in the long run Metalverse should be able to carry itself. In reality we should not be surprised if all BabyMetal Songs are his. Those are all arguments Su and Moa had to Deal with and I don't think that Kind words would be enough. They wont possess BabyMetal by itself and while they called him Dad in his Lifetime now they should know some of the Backgrounds and Pitfalls that might occur if there isn't a Kind entity in control. If we Look at their New York Interview they showed an acknoledgement that the New BabyMetal is no pure continuation of the old Babymetal. Their Lawyers were pretty much aware that there are two bands who might be in conflict with each other.
Su and Moas were Idols, but with 27 and 25 they are no childs. They grew up in this industry.

    👍 👍
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno. Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old. All three girls were friends and classmates who attended an idol group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
In the beginning Amuse showed little interest and the girls had minimal financing. They performed at strip malls and small venues borrowing clothes for shows from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack.
They quickly became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues).
Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to HQ pro shot videos of LIVE performances instead of official MV's (the reason is that the vast majority of MV's use studio audio over LIVE footage AND without the awesome Kami Band instrumentals)
They have over 60 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these HQ Pro Shot videos of LIVE performances for a start.
