I'm a big fan of Ayala's percussion program. Not only are they competitively successful, but they're a class act from top to bottom. Every encounter I've ever had with their students or staff has been nothing but positive. Congratulations to Ike on breeding a great culture of fantastic drumming and great attitudes.

This is an awesome documentary! This is truly a great representation of high level marching percussion & a taste of what it involves. Great job putting this together and thank you for doing it!

They got a lot of work to do if they ever wanna be world champions in Marching Percussion or Marching Band in general. Broken Arrow is gonna be hard to beat

Yes, this is true, but getting those skills doesn't just come to everyone, and it takes money to get the right equipment, right instructors, and private lessons to get those skills. Good for them. I'm not trying to take anything away from their hard work, which they definitely put in, but my experience is that the schools with money tend to have better music programs like this one. Again, I'm glad these kids have access to this. Far too many schools cut the arts these days.

dfisk79 if you practice hard enough, you can accomplish great musical feats. I'm not saying what you said is wrong, but I bet if you gave someone a pair of sticks, and a hard surface, they can reach DCI level.

This school didn’t always have money. I was there from 96-2000. We used lunch tables as props one year and hand me down “costumes”. It took a ton of practice to draw attention to the school. Eventually we won gold in 1999. From then on the sponsorships came. Also these kids are very committed. They take it serious and the feeder schools do a good job to get them up to speed before they get to ayala

@prosmart5A Ceres High School? Sadly you won't ever see Ayala perform. Ceres is a Northern CA School and Ayala Southern CA School. And even at Finals Week, you won't see them since they compete in 4/5A while you guys, 1/2/3A. Unless your director decides to let you come to the 4/5A Venue to watch.
And don't worry, you guys will get there sure enough.
