Jared Nyman If u gonna watch both I recomend 2003 first. But if u only gonna watch 1 I recomend brotherhood.
Just know that brotherhood is not a sequel. 2003 differs from the OG manga from about ep 25. While brotherhood follows the manga.
Also the first 25 eps of 2003 have about the same content as the first 13 of brotherhood. So by watching 2003 first it'll feel less repetitive. Also 2003 introduces u way better to the world of fma and alchemy

The first third of the opening feels like it could really fit into Pokemon Journeys. Especially the part about bonds never being undone with Ash and Pikachu being together forever and a Journey that never ends. And the slipped through hands lyrics would fit really well the 123 op part where Goh reaches for Mew and it slips away.
