- Electronic Beats TV takes a step into Ulrich Schnauss’s layered and synth-laden production world on this Slices Tech Talk. As a solo artist, a new addition to Tangerine Dream and a contributor to many collaborative projects, Ulrich has released a number of albums on labels such as Domino, Scripted Realities and City Centre Offices, plus remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode, Howling Bells and Sia. An avid synth collector with a functional approach, he translates his emotions and atmosphere through the instruments at hand with a focus on personal expression rather than falling into the traps of the reputation certain instruments come with.

He's a genius, criminally underrated, far and away my favourite downtempo/ambient artist, gets nowhere near the acclaim that's due to him, Clear Day, On my own and Gone forever are classics.
Finally a studio that looks and feels like an painters atellier and not like a pharmacy store. Love it.
This man, is quite probably the greatest living electronic artist to date. His music is so sonically beautiful that it uses frequencies that you'll need high end speakers to fully hear and appreciate. Listening to his music is a journey through euphoria that will change the way you think about music. Absolutely master of his craft.
I always loved his ethereal, melancholic soundscapes.
Such an incredible talent. His music is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes. Tears of joy. It's very healing. God Bless him.
I agree, his music has actually saved people from the brink. I'm curious to know if he uses specific healing frequencies (e.g. 528hz).
@@polyglotta1 No..he is making simply music, but not simple music without any idea!
This man is brilliant. I love how well he explains his processes and methods in writing and mixing.
Ulrich's music is some of the closest music to capture what I imagine the ethereal planes sound like. I hope one day he gets the recognition he deserves. So Talented.
A Voyetra Eight and a Waldorf Wave in Red 😯extremely rare synthesizers!
He is so underrated, I love his musical so much!
Always a pleasure watching Ulrich at work at Mission Control.
Genius. I love his music
You know....this man has this 'sound'...understands it all. Just like Jarre, he cooks the ultimate meals in his kitchen...the overall taste is way above excellent.
Omg that OB-8 sounds incredible
Yeah, looking at it I'm like "oh no I want that synth so bad"
For me improvisation is the key to creative music. But Ulrich Schnauss is far more than just improv. obviously. His knowledge or if you like feel of where to bring improvistion in and lock all the elements down is something otherworldly hence he is at so many levels of brilliance in all the areas necessary to make music this good, makes him for me a rare musical genius.I am a guitarist but his music resonates so much and is so good at activating emotion it transcends any particular genre of music as to make irrelevant the instruments that are used.It simply is at the very highest level.I do however like his collaborations equally as his stand alone efforts.Like so many others i feel fortunate to have discovered his genius.
Big fan of him lucky enough to have seen him twice live - once in Toronto and once in East London :)
He had me at the point I saw the Waldorf Wave. Jeez. What incredible arsenal!
Another Schnauss vid I’ve never seen - thank you so much for sharing 🙏
i really like how his studio looks like a cave

Ulrich Master and Genius...
what a legend
I often wonder if a person that makes such an amazing music can be a bad person. Looks like that Ulrich have a good heart.
He is lovely, we saw him in Dublin and he was so nice, chatting freely afterwards with no ego or anything like that, a genuinely lovely person
Like a painter, you lay down one or two colours and that will instinctively lead you to the next.....
Genial saludos
If you can identify the background piece that starts at 2:00 minutes into this video, I would appreciate knowing. I have listened to a lot of his work, but I did not recognize that piece. He is gifted and someday many people will know his music.
The song is ten years from his album a long way to fall
If I were to meet him one day I'd ask if he did psychedelics or cannabis for his inspiration. Last weekend we ate a few fungi and his music was as always so so soothing.
that op8 !!!!
His studio looks (to me more) like a cosmonaut explorer cabin
great studio but monitors placement makes me nervous
5:43 - 5:44 nice beat
Track at 2:15??
please, a track name for 2:00?
Pharelight Wind Ulrich Schnauss - Ten Years - Album: A Long Way To Fall

The dust is part of his sound!
Dust leave him alone.
