- The aim of this video is to demonstrate the step by step procedure involve in the estimation of Dissolve Oxygen (DO) in any water samples adopting the standard protocol of estimation called Azide Modification of Winkler Method.
The video consist of the following:
1. Brief Introduction to Dissolve Oxygen
2. Laboratory requirements (Glassware’s and Chemicals)
3. Preparation of Chemical Reagents use for analysis
4. Standardization of Sodium Thiosulphate Solution
5. Step by step procedure for analysis of Dissolve Oxygen
6. Calculation of DO using Ms-Excel

What a brief explanation, 🙇for you.
Excellent method . Explanation is very good.
Thank you so so much. Appreciate it very much 🙏
Thank you so much for your nice video
Appreciate it very much. Thank you 😊
Fantastic explanation class... Thanks a lot
You are welcome. It means a ton. Thank you 😊
Excellent explanation
Thank you so much
Thanks sir this video good understanding
Thank you so much. It means a lot. Thank you 😊
Thak you ,sir you are very excellent
I am grateful 🙏 and thankful to you 🙏 appreciate it so much 🙏
Nice Expiration sir.
Thanks.
Appreciate it very much 🙏 Thank you 😊
Nice explanation sir
Appreciate it very much 🙏 Thank you 😊
Sir, please discuss chemical reaction.
Super sir
Appreciate it very much 🙏
Thank a lot God bless 🙏
In the step of standardization of sod. thiosulfate......when I prepare the sol by adding KI, dissolving it in 75ml disH2O etc and when i go for titration part after adding few drops starch, the color becomes dark blue and in titration with sodium thiosulfate the colour vanishes in using only 2ml of thiosulfate. Why ??
I humbly request you to follow the steps accordingly go as per the video, don't skip each and every steps. If I get what you're querry, is I see no problem in it. However, I request you to please see the step again
Thank you 😊
In 18:21 point no5, N of added K2Cr2O7 is 0.25 not 0.025
It's 0.025 N, I realized this after completing the video. I miss showing the dilution of 0.25 to 0.025N. Otherwise, everything is according to the standard procedure. Thank you 😊
Please sir make a video on BOD and COD
Sir can we use a starch indicator solution or should we make it up as in the video?
I believe any will be good enough.
Sir the calculation part , is there a reference for it? I mean like whose method have you used for this test?
Everything in the method adopted is as per te prescribe methods only, from reagent to estimation to calculation etc. Alright. Thank you 😊
Sir what if we get the DO levels as 20.8 mg/L . what does it indicate?
It indicates that u did something wrong.
What is the formula for calculation of DO of sample taken with 50 times dilution?
The formula given in this video is not for the diluted samples. In this video, it the without dilution.kindly refer APHA for your adopted method. Thank you
What are the concentrations of the reagents that have been prepared in this video?
Reagentsbare prepared as per the standard prescribed adopted. However, conc. of some reagents are not mention in the adopted standards. Thank you 😊
Hi.
I did same chemical prepration for DO.
My doubt is
1.After preparation of alkali iodide aziide solution the azide is not comptely dissolved ..is it be like only or what I am confused
2.after adding Starch indicator the sample didn't turn in to dark blue or black colour.
Kindly suggest on this what may be the cause.
There is a possibility that your chemical are outdated or procedure followed is missed in between here and there. I kindly request you to repeat it again but with more meticulous pattern this time. Ok. Thank you 😊
Hello sir.. i have one doubt? Is it necessary to boil the distilled water for starch and sodium thiosulphate preparation? Or we add the normal distilled water into those preparation?
Good. I believe it for easy nd complete dilutions for starch and for Na2S2O4 for removal of Co2, if I'm not wrong. No matter, it recommended to follow the prescribed procedure otherwise what is the meaning of prescribed procedure, right. Thank 😊 🙏 you
Can we use other Mn2+ salts like MnCl2.nH2O in place of MnSO4.nH2O?
No. Thank you 😊
@@JustLikeASteam Why?
@@dipujyotiborah5561 it's the standards protocol that prescribed the use MnSo4.H2O and also chemistry behind it. That is why they refer DO was analyzed using standard protocol given by Azide...Method. All the best and Thank you 😊
Can you make video on BMWP score calculation and ASPT
I'm not aware of what is BMWP and ASPT. Let's see if it's related toy field ok. Thank you it means a lot your request. Thank you 😊
Sir taking sample in triplicate means - we have to take the same sample 3 times?
Yes and correct. Thank you 😊
How to determine BOD when zero day DO is zero?
This might be water is heavily polluted so it best you adopt other methods for BoD, seeding, estimation . Thank you 😊
Why we multiplying 1000 in the DO formula
The formula was equated the way it is with the denomintor and numerator when it was originally designed. Taking care of all possible calculations. It part of the formula.Thank you
Why we multiply 8 in formula?
It's part of the formula. I dint make or put that. It's the part of the formula ok
Thabk you
Could you please explain the reasons behind for adding each chemicals?
Thank you. To get the desire results, each chemical plays their significant role. That is why different chemical are added in order not haphazardly. If you interested in the chemistry behind, it is available in the prescribed standards protocol, check the prescribed book mention in the references. All the best Thank you
