It's a miracle that plant in your backyard is still alive 😅. After all the chemicals it's been subjected to, again and again. It's the Keith Richards of the botanical world.
Great job on this amazing guitar!
Yes fantastic job. I wondered about the plant as well 😌
Those pitted frets... 😢
@@DeeveOnYT Pitted frets look cool! 😆
hahahahahahaha
@@davidb.6681Nah he's just setting up the next video... Part 2: How to RE-FRET a Les Paul 😂 but hey, ya gotta give him credit where credit is due... He took a RATTY old Les Paul Studio and turned it into a decent looking, great sounding Gold Top! And he seems quite pleased with it. I mean, he by NO MEANS WAS TRYING TO DO A STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL ON HOW TO "PROPERLY AND PROFESSIONALLY" REFINISH A GUITAR... But he did do a great video on how to make a turd look better and have fun doing it! And it IS HIS! SO IMHO I'D SAY HE ACCOMPLISHED WHAT HE SET OUT TO DO 😊 And maybe he'll take it to a more experienced luthier for a proper fret job... Who knows?!
Magic restoration, shame no truss rod cover to make it 100%.
Definitely! Blank cover!
Drives me nuts.
And no Les Paul decal....Go to that much trouble trying to look like a factory Gibson, and then omit a cheap decal and truss rod cover
@@davidb.6681 he actually does more fret work than he shows in the video. There is another video where he refrets levels and does everything on a Telecaster
No fret levelling. There's dents on the frets😂😂
The Gold Top is truly a classic Gibson color. Outstanding work my good man!!!
Not having the truss rod cover on it aside, that Les Paul looks good. And it sounds beautiful, too. Good work on fixing it up!
That gold top with natural back is just gorgeous. I wish Gibson would do more painted/coloured top and leave the back natural
They just released an entire line of just that.
I love the sparkly emo playing! Sounds and looks great.
23:08 - you wired the output on the switch backwards. The ground goes to the single lug in the back and the hot goes to the two lugs pinched together in between the other two single lugs.
Always a pleasure to watch a master restore something so beautifully.
Another excellent save!, great work man!
Amazing Transformation! Loved it!🤟🤟
One of your best and one of my favorites by you, great work!
That is brilliant! Great work.
I always wait for the final playing.Best part.
Beautiful restoration
You definitely put a lot of work on this, but I am afraid to say that the paint job is still very amateur: no pore filler, no proper wet sanding until you get a rid of orange peel, etc. Keep progressing though!
I was thinking the same, he could have avoided using a scraper and having to deal with the gouges if it was nitro it would have come off with Acetone.. melts it right off no need to scrape, and yes lots of wet sanding and polishing left to go.
Hello Friend, what an amazing rehabilitation on that Gibson LP ! The golden color is just gorgeous and the finish is as brilliant as your incredible skill. Thank you so much for this excellent video, see you soon !
great work and amazing covers in the end, love it.
Awesome work! Your painting skills are great, I've been doing more work myself on my projects!
Excellent work. Well done
Unbelievable Gibson tag inlay! I was worried at first!
the dot of the i is too high
One minor critique - the Gibson logo should be more slanted on an angle. Beautiful job, you are highly skilled.
Great work but you always seem to skip the wet sanding the finish step before polishing. The guitar finish would look much better if you wet sanded before buffing
Yeah I am a little disappointed when the close up of the headstock shows the orange peel. Dad would not allow that.
Looks to me that he's probably not applying enough coats of clear to do enough wet sanding. The grain is still telegraphing through even though he filled it. With enough clear applied, that could be wet sanded away.
just about every coat should be leveled before moving forward.@@gp205
Beautiful work.
Beautiful results!
amazing job, as always
No truss rod cover? Okay... It's your guitar!
Good job. Just as a small observation I will tell you that the dot of the "i" in the logo has been left a little high.
I wouldn't even have included it, there are historical models that ignored it. 👍😎
Amazing work.
Everything is very cool!
but..
You FORGOT the anchor cover on the neck head !!
and bro didnt connect the ground wire to the bridge anchor.
i love your videos and restoration work! i noticed you did not adjust the bridge saddle intonation or the nut height-from your excellent playing i can hear many notes not quite intonated
This is your best one yet bro good job on that Gibson logo on the headstock veneer
He trashed that logo by putting the dot way too high up. Ruined a classic
OK, it took me a minute to figure out that this is fully a 1995 LP Studio. I thought it was bound at first, which was throwing me off, but that's just the finish being taken up to reveal the edge of the maple cap. Man, that was boggling my brain there for a bit.
Beautiful!
what an great work. congrats
A beautiful work but the dot of the i is higher than the original logo, you're asome 🤘😊😉
she's wonderful !
Nice job 👍😊
Your demos are always fantastic and your emotive hardcore play style is excellent.
Double Gold Goldtop Guitar. Nice it appears you went for the 50s standard look in the end. if I didn't see the video, I'd see this as a real gibson at 1st glance. of course I'd inspect it to see it it actually was one. but at 1st glance
I wonder what model it is. I can not so think of a model that had fretboard inlays but no binding on body or neck.
Love it! You’ve really nailed it.
my favorite bedtime content. Falling asleep to this beautiful ASMR
Amazing job!
Thats a Beautiful Les Paul Bro
Nice restoration on this one gibson les paul
Great job it looks beautiful!!🎸🎸👌👍
Amazing work
Beautiful job. Spoiled by missing truss-rod cover!
Beautiful.
Ficou sensacional faltou só a tampa do tensor
When I saw him paint the body white I was like “I would’ve done a gold top”. And then he did it 😂
i must say you did a marvelous job restoring this guitar. its beautiful!!! it sounds really nice too! with all the parts you ordered why no trussrod cover?
What a nice job !
Very good aesthetic result, except for that dot too high on the headstock logo...I wonder why there is no Les Paul model decal and truss rod cover...❤👍🏻
Yeah, it should have been in line between the top of the G and the vertical line of the B to be 1995 spec. It's normally high, but not quite that high.
Awesome work looks brand new
Beautiful job you did on that gold top.
great job as always! where did you order the pickup and the mother of pearls Gibson logo by the way?
Beautiful! 😊👍🏻
Keep up the good work!
Great restoration. Why no truss rod cover though? Seems to be the only thing missing.
Nicely done
Your work is outstanding, and love your playing, a question, If I may, why the dot of the i, is so hi on the decal inlay?
I wish you had sanded that primer before the gold went on. Would've been much smoother in the end, but overall, what a fantastic build!
If you use 600 grit wet-or-dry sand paper it will be smooth enough that when you buff it out there won't be any orange peel texture. The lack of a truss rod cover and no Les Paul designation on the headstock face kills me! It'll be easy enough to spot this guitar anywhere. At least most of this is Gibson fare. It's just too bad that someone had to practically destroy this guitar although I hate Gibson I do love watching restoration videos.
Interesting 🤔 but that’s what we call a 10 footer !!! Looks good from 10ft away 😂😂
Fantastic !
My favorite pickups, 57 classic PAF. This came out great.
to save cutting the finish to remove the tape, always remove the tape when the paint is not dry but tacky
Nice job - the guitar looks splendid. There are a couple of things that could be improved. 1. The interface between neck and top - not great, can still see the white primer - you want to fix that. Also, I would have paid more attention to the grain filling - you would have got a better finish on the mahogany neck and back. Finally, could you not have finished it off with a nice truss rod cover? That said, it is a beautiful job.
Very good job!👌🏽
Great restoration, did you ground the bridge at the post?
My 09 Goldtop has the 57's and I love them. The tone is hard rock all the way!
amazing - great
Hi, great restoration.... what did you used for grainfilling?
Anything other than simply amazing will be a waste of time and words!!! A true artist!!!
Your music is great ! Intro has real magic chords
nice job.just needs truss rod cover and cream rear plastics to match the other cream plastics
Amazing video. I’ve been loving these guitar restoration videos. I am curious to know why you used a heat gun instead of chemicals. Does it have something to do with the wood or old paint on the guitar, or is it more of an arbitrary thing?
Perfect instrument !
Ну вот же czcams.com/video/_pA2RUQfusQ/video.html 5:33
Use a drill press for drilling tuner holes, it must be straight
Amazing work! That Gibson looks awesome in gold.
This man found the 10mm socket. Pure witchcraft.
Magnificent work! Did you remember to put a ground wire to the bridge lug?
