    (40 year veteran of Electronics Repair with an Associates Degree in Electronics). Most heaters are rated at 1500 watts, 110 volts AC, 5250 BTU's. Which is telling you that it takes 1500 watts of energy to produce a little over 5000 BTU's (British Thermal Units). At 350 watts you get around 1500 BTU's. It would heat your closet nicely but anything bigger will need to be insulated by NASA for this heater to be effective. Sorry, it's just those silly "laws of physics" interfering with our quest for Free Energy!

      These work great inside many Rv trailers especially the bathroom areas. Or the small bedrooms. It is designed for small rooms.
      Love the degree, but when you put a heater in a small room such as a Rv bathroom, come back in 10 mins and it’s actually comfortable now, well that’s just good old fashioned research. But this is what this heater is designed for small rooms.
      Hence best small heater, which I promote it in a RV trailer bathroom and bedroom..đŸ‘đŸŒ

      These actually work great for small rooms. They pull less than 3 amps each so if you have two outlets you can hang one in each outlet and it won't come close to popping a 15A breaker. They are not capable of Master/Slave operation so only one will typically come on unless it's incapable of holding the room to the selected temperature in which case the second one will come on. Two of these in a small room work very well. Unlike a lot of other inexpensive ceramic heaters these actually give you true digital thermostatic control making it easy to dial in exactly the temperature you want. By the way, you should use 120V (not 110Vac) in your calculations. Since 1984 the voltage at standard wall outlets in nearly all US homes has been 120Vac +/-5%.

So, since my 1st ceramic heater, I looked up costs and efficiency of ceramic heaters, and found that they are the most economical heater to use! So, I purchased another 750-1500 watt ceramic from Amazon. Both work great & will heat a large area. I will soon receive the 1st electric bill since using these heaters... I hope I'm not shocked!!🙂

    This thing is advertised to cut your heating bills. But, in essence, its still just an electrical heater, which would require the same amount of electrical energy to change the temperature in a room by a certain amount, as any other form of electrical heating system. That's the way energy works! You can't get something for nothing. Now, if you use it to heat one room at a time, then yes, you wont have to waste energy by heating rooms that you are not occupying, but you can do that anyway if you have a central heating system that lets you switch each radiator on and off individually.

    • @sparkesman1980
      @sparkesman1980 Pƙed rokem +1

      I understand what your saying, but despite turning off individual central heating radiators to save energy, all the central heating pipework on the system still gets hot, so you will find that even though a radiator is turned off, the pipe work next to it will be just as hot, so you don't actually save much in costs really.

    • @time4change878
      @time4change878 Pƙed rokem +3

      It will cut heating bills as it is only rated up to 500w which is low really. So it does not produce enough heat to heat anything more than a small room or camper/caravan. Ideal for that purpose as it take up little room. some of the claims for how good it is at heating bigger rooms and quickly are totally bogus so beware. At around ÂŁ12 and for a small space it is ok. A standard outlet is 15 amp. It is VERY unusual in typical construction to have a 20 amp outlet - which requires larger wire, 12-2 instead of 14-2, and a larger 20 amp breaker in the electrical panel. THUS ANY HEATER plugged into a standard outlet is limited to 15 amp. Standard voltage is 110 volts, so 15 x 110 = 1650 watts. They always leave a slight safety margin so at 110 volts limiting the amperage to about 13.6 amps - which can be safely used in most 15 amp circuits without tripping older and slightly tired 15 amp breakers. Now if you REALLY want to warm a space in most temperate climates use a de-humidifier. The heat released by the motor PLUS the heat of evaporation released by the condensing water is GREATER than 1500 watts AND when you remove the water from the air a LOWER temperature feels warmer. In the fall and spring, a couple of 15 amp de-humidifiers in the basement of a typical residence coupled with turning on the fan only of the furnace can effectively SHORTEN the need to have the furnace on by 2 to 3 months saving many $$$ in fuel costs. Plus THEY WILL NEVER CATCH FIRE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

    why is everybody talking about heating the bathroom and nit any other larger room.
    I mean you can still save money on any heaters if you only switch it on when it's so cold otherwise just use hit water bottles to save money.
    we don't know if they good for apartments because someone said lots of fires have happned. I was very eager to purchase and I was very tempted buy as one of the commmenters said think twice before buying. I don't think it will heat up a larger room, if it's only shows result in bathroom it means It will not heat up a larger room. as no one is speaking about a larger room on thier website it showes it heats up in 2 seconds. I think this is the reason for high bills as normal heaters takes time to heat up so might as well leave the heating on for 2 Dat with shutting it as it takes my heater 30 minutes or more to heat up so if I leave it on for 2 days It won't get a chance to heat up as its already switched on, and after 2 days switch it off for 2 days and repeat I'm sure this will keep cost low. I'm not 100 % sure if this will work in larger room as everyone is talking about heating the bathroom only. Thank you for the review I might just try it later with amazon it's 45 pounds and free shipping for 15 minutes more on offer.

    It's a 350W heater, so that's how much heat it outputs. End of story. If anyone thinks that a heater that powerful is going to heat a large room they are deluding themselves. You are going to need a 2 to 3kW fan heater to do that. It's simple physics.

    By design it can’t heat an entire room it’s just a fan passing air through a heater coil, a tiny little coil. It won’t shut off based on ambient temperature, the sensor is self contained so it will only see the units temp. Your house can be 63 degrees F and the unit can reach 90F and it will shut down at 90, 90 unit not ambient.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      True it’s not meant for a big room. Little rooms do fine like the one in the video. And it does shut off when the room reaches the temp. I had it shut off a couple times when it was set for 80.
      But again a small room like that is where this will work decent any thing much bigger it will just run. It will continue to heat but never reach set temp.

    • @bluwng
      @bluwng Pƙed 2 lety +1

      @@johnnysweekends how can it measure the room temp? Unless it uses an external sensor that is networked to the device it can only sense the device temperature which will be much hotter than the actual ambient temperature. It’s a heater you have to imagine it’s hot.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Pƙed 2 lety +2

      @@johnnysweekends so gfci is the "test" outlet? I know. Your like 'duh!' Why is that type of outlet not recommended. And, i had mentioned, i have a portable "baseboard" electric heater, as well as a portable radiator kind and i have the baseboard plugged into my living room. As soon as i plugged in portable radiator in my bedroom, lost electric. Ran down. Reset breaker in basement. It happened again. While All the electric was out, i had rolled the radiator around and tried evryy outlet ,none worked. So ,!?! , its like what? My whole Apt is running on 1 circuit? (Which i also didn't know what that meant at 1st. It would be impossible , i think? , but why! WHYYYYY! are these outlets all like this) ,anyhoo, i am in Massachusetts and it's been a BITCH of a cold week. I got the baseboard style in my living room, been sleeping on couch. I literally can't move till the sun shines throu At end of Day. Im curious, bcuz i do still have the radiator plug-in. Stored in back room. Are those types warmer. I can't get simple answer on Google. "Portable Baseboard vs Portable Radiator plug ins" do you kno?
      And ,if i were to plug in a tiny hand held type into bathroom (test outlet) do you think that will trip breaker?
      And ,yes, i keep an eye. A very close eye. On all these things. I would turn on bathroom one and shut door. Then turn off so water don't splash. I may not know about outlets electric this / that. But ,I am cautious.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Pƙed 2 lety

      So a radiant heater provides heat sooner then a oil heater. But the oil heaters put heat all around. The base board heater I don’t know with out really seeing what they all are.
      Your test plug..GFCI
.”ground fault circuit indicator” or gfi for short is popped correct?? And when you press the button it resets or pops back out and won’t go in at all..?
      If it goes in
 then that set of plugs if I assume it’s allowing like 4 others to work should work unless there is a wiring problem, a device problem or it gets gets over loaded from to many items like heaters. Normally only one 1500 watt heater and then something else small.
      If the test button won’t go in and it pops back out, then the plug/ GFCI could be bad, or bad wiring in a downstream plug.
      So something needs to be checked. If renting then call the landlord and tell them. Electrical is no joke. They need to fix it.
