Thank you for exposing this product as a scam. I was interested in it, but suspicious about it, so I'm glad that I found this video. Thanks to this video, I won't be wasting my money on this scam.
I would say the advertising is more of the scam and the story.
The product does work for a small compact heater but itâs meant for a personal heater or very small room just like how I use it in a bathroom
made in china and I bought one that came in a damaged box and a poorly made remote controller and no reply of any value from the seller. It is a scam to get US dollars for China's communist government.
It's a 350w heater, it works like 350w one, exactly as expected. If someone has diferent expectations, that's completely on him. No scams, just common sense.
I still use this exact heater in my trailer.
Perfect for my bedroom or bathroom.
But people also bought the cheapest ones for $5 instead of the $25-30 one
Got one of these and it does not heat a whole room and especially not in 2 minutes. This is made for your personal body in a desperate situation or if you want to to make sure you personally warm in a cold place and you are trying to not run up a bill.
(40 year veteran of Electronics Repair with an Associates Degree in Electronics). Most heaters are rated at 1500 watts, 110 volts AC, 5250 BTU's. Which is telling you that it takes 1500 watts of energy to produce a little over 5000 BTU's (British Thermal Units). At 350 watts you get around 1500 BTU's. It would heat your closet nicely but anything bigger will need to be insulated by NASA for this heater to be effective. Sorry, it's just those silly "laws of physics" interfering with our quest for Free Energy!
These work great inside many Rv trailers especially the bathroom areas. Or the small bedrooms. It is designed for small rooms.
Love the degree, but when you put a heater in a small room such as a Rv bathroom, come back in 10 mins and itâs actually comfortable now, well thatâs just good old fashioned research. But this is what this heater is designed for small rooms.
Hence best small heater, which I promote it in a RV trailer bathroom and bedroom..đđŒ
Thanks for the comment and explaining the BTU break downâŠđđđŒ
These actually work great for small rooms. They pull less than 3 amps each so if you have two outlets you can hang one in each outlet and it won't come close to popping a 15A breaker. They are not capable of Master/Slave operation so only one will typically come on unless it's incapable of holding the room to the selected temperature in which case the second one will come on. Two of these in a small room work very well. Unlike a lot of other inexpensive ceramic heaters these actually give you true digital thermostatic control making it easy to dial in exactly the temperature you want. By the way, you should use 120V (not 110Vac) in your calculations. Since 1984 the voltage at standard wall outlets in nearly all US homes has been 120Vac +/-5%.
Yup đđŒ
You don't need a degree to figure this out lol...Heating any space is relative to thermal loss. Once you equalize the energy produced and heat loss your room will stay warm or close to ambient temperature.....And I'm not an electrician and only have a grade 8 education....
@@jedidiah5131 correct in your observation. Now go cut some firewood.
I recently purchased a cute ceramic heater from HSN for abt $45. It is bigger & has more wattage (750-1500 wts). So, since my 1st ceramic heater, I looked up costs and efficiency of ceramic heaters, and found that they are the most economical heater to use! So, I purchased another 750-1500 watt ceramic from Amazon. Both work great & will heat a large area. I will soon receive the 1st electric bill since using these heaters... I hope I'm not shocked!!đ
Iâd be curious to see if the billing is about the same or a little less, let us know if you would like..đđŒđ
All electric heaters have about the same efficiency. Make or model doesnât really make a difference.
@@ammerudgrenda There are several different types of elec heaters......infrared, baseboard, ceramic, radiator, etc. The info that I found listed the operating costs per hour of the various types and, it stated that the ceramic heaters are the least expensive . Costs to run the ceramic heater is approx 4 cents per hour of operation. Next efficient are the infrared, which cost a little more per hour of operation. The cost per hour increased based the type of electric heater, which has nothing to do with make or model!
@@ammerudgrenda just the price. Be careful.
@@pattymiller9040 I would think the cost to run these heaters is based on how many watts they use.
In the UK you can buy at a B&M store for around ÂŁ12. Ok for small room or caravan. Do not get scammed by some of the claims on the internet. People are making bogus claims about their ability and jacking up to a crazy price so BE WARNED
Yea they are good for small rooms like you mentioned but thatâs about it. If they are re poorly insulated then it will be even worse
Send me links please B&M
does anyone else see the irony of doing safety tests when the power socket is that close to the sink ??
Just like all the ladies curling irons and hair dryers. At least if this comes unplugged there is no more power connected. Verses the hair dryer and curling iron.
Unless youâre the type of person who like to splash a lot of water around at the sink then I definitely do not advise this type of unit. I donât use it while the water is running. Just a few minutes before I jump in the shower when Iâm out camping in certain locations
đ
Lower watt heaters are nice if you are running off a solar battery backup.
Agree, especially if you have lithium. Ill be waiting till my battery dies out to make the switch. Figure by then the competition will help drop prices to something a little more reasonable.
I was thinking of getting a heating blanket. But now I think this might work out for my iKamper RTT and Bluetti AC200. I like the temperature setting features, set it/forget it and sleep all night.
I like the fact it dries my hand towels and shower towels when itâs in the bathroom.
Iâll add one more to the bedroom..đđŒ
Be interested to see how long the bluetti could run one continuously đ€
Thanks for the comment and thanks again for watching đđŒđ
Got mine at Aldi for 12.00! Perfect for a cold bathroom. Just enough to warm it up before a shower. The auto shut off is a nice feature. As is the temp. selection. Nice review. Thank you!
I still like mine. People seem to think they will heat big rooms, but honestly little bathrooms they are perfect.
@JOHNNY'S WEEKENDS Can you leave this little heater plugged in the bathroom wall when it is not on? Or do you have to keep pulling it out of the wall socket when your not using it? Thank you.
Yes it can stay plugged in. It has a main on off switch on the side so it can be fully of. Then if switch is on it has power but you have to turn the white power button on. Then select temp and it will come on and then go off when temp is reached.
Or select time and it will run for the amount of time selected.
Hope this helps
Have you had a chance to compare the costs yet? Do you have a smart meter that can monitor the amount of electricity you are using? I'd be interested to know.
I havenât. I know it uses about 3 amps. And 3 amps is 3 amps.
That looks like a pretty nice little heater for a bathroom. Our bathroom in our camper gets really cold. Most the time we just leave the door open but I might have to suggest this one to my husband.
This is exactly what I use it for I have used it to preheat the bed room to but it does great for the camper bathroom before I shower. I hate being cold..đ€ŁđđŒ
@@johnnysweekends Im with you on being cold. Our RV bathroom needs to be heated up for me to use it. I think my kids would be more willing to use it then too.
Exactly. For a small space saving heater this works great for exactly that purpose.
My wife said I didnât need it. Now sheâs like, the bathroom heater is on right? đ
@@johnnysweekends I stayed in a cabin years ago and they had a heater in there and I I have always wanted one and every bathroom when I take a shower. So im on her side. Plus this might make it to where i dont have to fight my kids to take a shower.
They don't have Sockets in the Bathrooms in the UK for Safety Reasons because of steam and Damp.
I bought one been using it all winter has been great for me but I get house up to temp with furnace the turn on my alfa heater it it maintains it all night till bed then I shut it off
I still use mine. If you use them for really small rooms they are fine, but not for much else besides personal heat
Itâs a cute heater, but donât expect it to heat up a room larger than 100 sqft.
I bought a "Hero Heater" but received a "Handy Heater" that looks different. Bought directly from advertisement, mistake #1. Check to make sure that you are not being charged an additional $149.00 for a VIP membership. Disputing it. This came from the fulfillment center in Lakeland, Florida.
DONâT unplug with dripping wet hands unless you are suicidal. This can be said of any wall outlet. đđđ
Thank you so muc now Im getting older I need a heater in my bathroom that will do the trick I'm sure going to grab one of these,I am using your link
Thank you, I still use mine. Donât buy the cheapest thing. People complained when they bought the $9 dollar version verses $25-30. I mean what do you expect.
Thanks for watching đđđŒ
This thing is advertised to cut your heating bills. But, in essence, its still just an electrical heater, which would require the same amount of electrical energy to change the temperature in a room by a certain amount, as any other form of electrical heating system. That's the way energy works! You can't get something for nothing. Now, if you use it to heat one room at a time, then yes, you wont have to waste energy by heating rooms that you are not occupying, but you can do that anyway if you have a central heating system that lets you switch each radiator on and off individually.
I understand what your saying, but despite turning off individual central heating radiators to save energy, all the central heating pipework on the system still gets hot, so you will find that even though a radiator is turned off, the pipe work next to it will be just as hot, so you don't actually save much in costs really.
It will cut heating bills as it is only rated up to 500w which is low really. So it does not produce enough heat to heat anything more than a small room or camper/caravan. Ideal for that purpose as it take up little room. some of the claims for how good it is at heating bigger rooms and quickly are totally bogus so beware. At around ÂŁ12 and for a small space it is ok. Regards
Exactly only good for basically what I showed a small Rv bathroom and bed room. Maybe a studio bedroom thatâs well insulated but not much more.
They did a test here in UK and it came out st 7 pence a hour to use .
Thanx for The logical Synopsis Dave,
Exactly what I'm looking for. If it will keep a bathroom cozy then I'm assuming a closet sized room will do great when needed.
Yea itâs good for a really small room and itâs quiet. But it is over stated of what it can do lol.
This works perfectly for a 20 ft camper at night. I bought two and itâs toasty in here.
I think they are great for RVs take up little room. Still use it for the bathroom lol..đđŒ
what was the outside temps? summer or winter? Minnesota or mexico?
When I tested it and when I use it itâs normally coastal or in the mountains.
Day of testing was probably about 46-48 out and I have used it when itâs in the mid upper 30s and still helps keep the bathroom warm.
I try to avoid 35 and under lol.
Now if you had a cab over camper or like mentioned a smaller tow behind one or two of these would probably do just fine
Seems the 500 watt version is the one to go with. An extra 150 watts, comes with a remote and it's only $1 more
Yea they didnât have that at the time when I grabbed one of these. But yea nice updated version. I also grabbed a handy heater 800 watt, that one moves some air but a little louder then expected.
I have one, but wanted to know the functions. Thanks for doing the wattage and temperature tests!
Your welcome. The functions are pretty simple but next time I do a heater Iâll go through it.đđŒ
Very good feed back on this! I love the details that you provided!
Thank you. Itâs a good little heater for what I showed but not much else lol. Obviously insulation is key
Mine is brilliant and very economicâŠglad l bought mine âŠ.
I use mine every time I camp in cold areas. Perfect for my little room đđŒ
Thank you for the review, Definitely buying it right now for my bathroom
My wife loves it and I actually dig the fact I can dry towels in there so they donât get musty and itâs warm for showers.
Put one in a small bed room and youâll cook if you put on high đ
@@johnnysweekends I got this for a 12 x 12 bedroom....should be ok?....also...can u possibly estimate the added cost on a typical electric bill just from this unit?....just approx....thanku for review....I paid 50 for mine...SHIULD get it end of next week....
I donât know what you kw rate is.
It will work in that room but it also depends how well itâs insulated or if it has a window or not. So all that will effect how well it does.
If I had gotten mine for $12.00 I would not be so angry. I paid $49.00.
I have to put it on my lap to stay warm.
I donât under stand why people are spending that much. Buy one of the brands that has a real name and about $25-$29 dollars.
They are meant for small rooms. Iâll admit the advertisement is very poor and misleading.
Iâve heard that the Ceramic heater still heats after an hour plus, the best material that hold heat,
Well not this one. The heating element is still warm after shut down but not much at all because it does a one minute fan only cool down.
You really did a great informative, thorough review. I seen this exact portable heater advertised and was interested. Did a search and herrrrrrrre's Johnny!!!! I believe I will be purchasing one of these little gadgets for my bathroom ( which BTW, has the only plug in by the sink. wink wink). Thank you for the time you spent.
Thank you, and yes donât use near a sink or water. Because the hair dryer and curling iron are already there using the plugs đđđđŒ
Thanks for watching
Mine didn't work.
You returned it right..?
Was it the brightown brand or another..?
I think they are very good for Bathrooms to dry up the moisture from Steam WITHOUT sucking all the warm air out of the house/camper :)
Iâve used it to dry the towels in the bathroom. Works fine..đđŒ
Its illegal here in UK to have a 13 amp 3 pin socket in a bathroom .

Everything is Illegal in The UK lol
InterestingâŠ!
Lol well thatâs lame đ€·ââïž
Haha to get one it was over $50
If you purchased 3 the price drop but still was $$46 plus another $10 for shipping.
They did not heat for more than one minute. Did not come back one to heat again. After it was cooled off you could restart it.
Still not heating the bathroom.
My hair dryer warmed the are faster after a shower.
What brand and model??
Your dryer is probably 1500 watts.
Your 3 heaters are a total of 1050 watts, so yes your hair dryer will heat up the room faster.
@@johnnysweekends the called them Alpha heater
The sell 3 different names but it sounds like they are exactly the same. What was bad as the have an address here in USA
NJ was who I had dealt with
Interesting, yea most suppliers have a USA address. And most these items are all from China but they do meet the regulations per USA electrical guidelines.
But like anything they all can have problems.
I brought it too, i also put mines in the bathroom. As for the bedroom its not strong enough to keep it warm.
Yea these are for little rooms, bathroom and the little RV bed room works good enough to keep warm. In a house maybe a small bathroom thatâs about it.
There's a sucker born every minute.
A standard outlet is 15 amp. It is VERY unusual in typical construction to have a 20 amp outlet - which requires larger wire, 12-2 instead of 14-2, and a larger 20 amp breaker in the electrical panel. THUS ANY HEATER plugged into a standard outlet is limited to 15 amp. Standard voltage is 110 volts, so 15 x 110 = 1650 watts. They always leave a slight safety margin so at 110 volts limiting the amperage to about 13.6 amps - which can be safely used in most 15 amp circuits without tripping older and slightly tired 15 amp breakers. Now if you REALLY want to warm a space in most temperate climates use a de-humidifier. The heat released by the motor PLUS the heat of evaporation released by the condensing water is GREATER than 1500 watts AND when you remove the water from the air a LOWER temperature feels warmer. In the fall and spring, a couple of 15 amp de-humidifiers in the basement of a typical residence coupled with turning on the fan only of the furnace can effectively SHORTEN the need to have the furnace on by 2 to 3 months saving many $$$ in fuel costs. Plus THEY WILL NEVER CATCH FIRE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
My winter is only 3 months long, all I need is a dehumidifier and I'll never have to use my furnace?
Yeah I run dehumidifiers. Even when -2°c outside I only need the heating on for an hour a day
Good test, thank you. The manual that comes with is sucks. I got more from your video than I got from the manual o the box.
Youâre welcome đđŒđ
How does he get the temperature to go up to 90? mine doesn't, 32 is the highest I can get mine.
Thatâs because itâs set to Celsius thatâs 90F ..đđđŒ

This heater works great during the summer months but not so great during the winter months in Southern California.

Very cool. I was just Watching another review negative said cheaply made and he likes another type uses 750 watt .
Yea there are several models out and different brands I only did the brightown which so far Iâm happy with it along with a few others I know that got it. The other brands I have no idea so hopefully itâs compared to at least the same brand.

I am going to be trying a newer design and more power but still a nice space saving design so will see..đđŒ
LOL this was so funny when I just saw the annoying ad.
im thinking on buying this heater I prob will after this review thanks

Problem is they are advertising as heaters for full sized living space one ad I see on youtube claims it will heat a room in 2 minutes, so many false claims on these products and on top of that the false back stories they attach to the ads.
Yes they can work for an RV bathroom... they are the size of a medium small closet.
Yea thatâs about what they are good for. And it does fine for it. But I would go much bigger of a room.
@@johnnysweekends I have had Several motorhomes last couple were 32 footers made for Alaska, have better insulation and heated grey & black water tanks have a pair of 1,500 watt oil filled heaters on thermostats set at 40F that keep anything from freezing in the winter, some of the waterline's are poorly installed making it difficult to insure all water is blown out for winterizing also can have issues with plastics cracking in extreme cold have had it colder than -60F Used to use a 900 watt ceramic heater but had issues with fans wearing out as most are not designed for months of non stop running.
Best so far are the dish heater with 400 and 800 watts 2 settings heat your bones infrared heaters.

What model did you buy??
I bought one for the bathroom.it states repeatedly in the instructions.do not have it anywhere near any source of water. Even steam from your shower will cause a fire.
You are correct. I use mine to pre heat and shut off before the shower. But youâll also read the same for curling irons and hair dryers which of course are typically in bathrooms and sitting next to a sink.
Only benefit to this is that if it comes unplugged at least the power is disconnected verses the hair dryer or curling iron. Be sure to use at your own risk and never leave unattended.
I have a roof top tent just ordered one to see if it take the chill off
Will you be plugged into power somewhere or a battery set up?
Curious how it works in a roof top tent
@@johnnysweekends into a goalzero yeti
Recently moved into a new apartment. All electric heating, no thermostat or timers, just an on/off switch for the "radiators". In theory i could get a couple of these to heat my apt during winter and it would be more economical because it will shut itself off during the night once it gets to the right temp?
Honestly I would not use these as primary heating. Unless you electric rates are super cheap. But honestly a bigger unit would do better. These are good for super small spaces like in a Rv like or maybe personal heater for a desk and more but not for a apartment. You never know how insulated that apartment may be and if not insulated hood these will run a lot. Especially if low to the ground where cool air is it could take forever to shut off.
I bought one that looks identical but called a Toasty Heater. It was a 500 watt heater. It would have had trouble heating a closet let alone a room. I sent it back. There was no place to leave a review on their website. DON'T waste your money.
I still have this unit.. I used it every night in my Rv bedroom for 6 nights this week in Quartzsite..

Wouldn't recommend putting one in the mains socket in a bathroom......unless you was planning on vacating for pastures beyond
I guess every hotel room with a 120 volt socket in the bathroom for the hair dryer should also be removed
Same with every bathroom in your house..?
GFCI do serve a purpose
I use one of these to heat the bathroom in my RV. Works well in that small a room.
Exactly I do the same as well. They work great for that and at only 3 amps hoping a good power station soon or some good lithium batts will be able to run them for hours.
Few more years I think.
Nothing like the original Pelonis ceramic heater.
I donât have experience with that one but heard of it.
This is a decent little heater but I think would be best used in a space half of what is recommended. And as long as itâs insulated well.
I need to somehow connect this to my car to defrost the windows during winter
According to Underwriter Laboratories, any electric ceramic space heater, regardless of size or programable features, should not be used or even plugged in where you sleep. If you do so, do so at your own risk. Make sure your smoke alarm is operational and batteries are good. Fire Marshals will cite your rental unit or business if they see a ceramic space heater that is not in use, but plugged in. If it's plugged into a power strip, expect to be cited for that. Both are infractions of the NFPA 1. 25,000 residential fires and 300 deaths are attributed to electric space heaters each year in the U.S.. That is all-Buzzkill
Only 300? So what your saying is I should get rid of my hammer that kills more then the heater
@@johnnysweekends Hammers kill more people than AR-15s. So, yes. If you live in CA, Gov Newsom offers a hammer buy-back program. $2 for 16 oz finishing hammer and $5 for a 32 oz framing hammer. $6 for a 5 lb sledgehammer.
$6-49 WATCHED A GUY ON youtube showing where to get them in USA he was comparing different makes can't remember the shopping channel he said he used .
If they look alike they are pretty much all the same. Just different names on it. And maybe updated from the last few years..
Is the actual temperature sensor below the heating element? How does the digi temp display track with âRoomâ Temperature at different heights in a room?
I think it detects air temp at its location from the incoming air. So if itâs low itâs going to stay on longer because the cold air is at the bottom. And of course of up hi will turn off sooner.
Unless You're trying to warm a closet, forget this thing. Mine shuts off after a minute and never turns back on. I paid $49 for mine. What a waste of money.
Wow $49..? Is it the brightown model. I havenât had any issues with mine but yes small rooms for sure.
How does it work should I plug that into an electricity plugger cause I see it hanged on the wall in the video
It just plugs into a normal out let.
Is it anything like that alpha heater crap. That was made in Ghina China said was made in U.S. in ad I think anyway no polarized plugs. It heated kitchen well. Never left it on at night. Anyway It melted to my wall socket. Thank God I had the one with the buttons that throw circuit. What type plug and most importantly is it UL rated or ETL. PLEASE LET ME KNOW
Iâm not familiar with a alpha heater. This one has been working great as long as itâs this brand. I have no experience with other look a like brands.
Iâll check to see if it is UL rated.
This one does say UL STD 1278
I mean 90% of the heaters are probably made in China. What do you doâŠ? Itâs lame
The unit is sold under many brand names: Elite, Alpha, others; as a brand gets a bad reputation just change the name and say it was created by a jet engineer, show a video of a fighter jet engine in afterburner so you get the idea of a huge flaming torch, but don't say that a typical hair dryer has four times the heating power of this.
So I got this heater for our camper bathroom and I literally cannot get it to start heating. Itâs on and showing lines on the screen but I canât get it to start heating. Can you help ? Lol
So did you buy the brightown one. I know some look the same but I guess they differ a little..
But the main switch on the side needs to be on.
Turn the temp up then power button on. Did you read the instructions?
Nice review. Just bought one as I keep rabbits and guinea pigs in my shed and in the winter I want them to be comfortable. Can you just confirm I can set it for 8 hours when I go to bed to 15 degrees Celsius and it will turn itself on and off at 15 but won't let it get too hot for them? Quite worried about leaving it on for them overnight. Any help would be great. Thank you
Yes, make sure to read the instructions on how it works because it can turn on or turn off after set amount of hours. And turn on and off depending on temp.
@@johnnysweekends thanks for the reply. Just set it for 8 hours 15 degrees so I guess it shuts itself on and off depending on the temperature
Yes once it reaches temp it will shut off. Then on when it falls below a couple degrees or so I guess. Been a while since I read the instructions
In an outside shed, with a very low-powered 350 watt heaterâŠok in the summer perhaps. In the winter, it may not be enough.
@@ammerudgrenda you are right. They have now taken over my kitchen until April đ
Just bought 2 ÂŁ10 each.Test results say 7 pence a hour to use.
7p an hour makes that ÂŁ50 a month. That's about my gas heating costs per month for a 2 bed flat.
Really helpful review, thanks a lot. đđŒ
Your welcome ..đđŒđ
Excelant demonstration how you guys do that in a one shot
Thank youâŠđđŒđ
Any-One? Thats Actually used this product and kept track of electrical usage on the elec bill? and what other mini heaters did any one use and were Highly satisfied with? Thank You
Watts are watts. Doesnât matter what the device is.
If you are drawing 350 watts at about 3 amps that is what you calculate. Not the device.
So then all you need to know is your power price. What is the kWh price
@@johnnysweekends I Understand the Arithmetic
I'm in Ireland, the temperature is 1 degree here and thinking to buy it by seeing your review. Can I use it in my bedroom? Will it be good?
Thatâs really cold. And I donât know how big your bedroom is or how well itâs insulated.
In those temps you are probably gonna need a little more power.
Hope this helps
You can use this any room including bathroom & garage too
I would make sure the room is smaller then advertised though and at least insulated decent. These really are for small rooms.
No, thatâs not enough heat for a bedroom, even if itâs well insulated.
Get a radiator-style 1300-1500 watt heater. They are super reliable due to no moving partsâŠand no fan noise too.
By the way, all electric heaters have approximately the same efficiency.

Excellent review. Thank you.
Your welcome, thanks for watching đđđŒ
Sir, I really liked your review of this heater. You covered all my concerns and more. This is exactly what I was looking for since my bathroom overhead heater quit. I have a small bathroom and I think this will serve the purpose.
It does great for a small room, and thatâs all I use it in. I donât like to be cold when I jump in the shower, đđđŒ
Thanks for watching đ
Not a good idea to have an electric heater in a bathroom or even an electric socket to plug it into. Wet, Damp, Streamy environment doesn't mix with electric
Yea I have tried to tell every woman that has the hair dryer and curling irons in just about every bathroom next to the sink strung out across America the same thing.
Idk, they donât listen. đ€·ââïž
Crazy girls đđđŒ
How did you get it to stay plugged into the wall? I canât get the one I got to stay on the wall. How did you do it?
Your plug could be older which means the metal contacts are wearing which is normal. You can always bend the prongs in just a little on the heater to help grab the plug more. Mine just stays in though.
That's a good indication to replace your wall sockets.
How do I change my alpha heater from Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Oh itâs been a while since I messed with it but itâs a press and Honda on one button or two..đ€ sorry I donât have the instructions any more.
Itâs not in the video..?? Lol
No the end lol đ€Łđ€Ł

why is everybody talking about heating the bathroom and nit any other larger room.
I mean you can still save money on any heaters if you only switch it on when it's so cold otherwise just use hit water bottles to save money.
we don't know if they good for apartments because someone said lots of fires have happned. I was very eager to purchase and I was very tempted buy as one of the commmenters said think twice before buying. I don't think it will heat up a larger room, if it's only shows result in bathroom it means It will not heat up a larger room. as no one is speaking about a larger room on thier website it showes it heats up in 2 seconds. I think this is the reason for high bills as normal heaters takes time to heat up so might as well leave the heating on for 2 Dat with shutting it as it takes my heater 30 minutes or more to heat up so if I leave it on for 2 days It won't get a chance to heat up as its already switched on, and after 2 days switch it off for 2 days and repeat I'm sure this will keep cost low. I'm not 100 % sure if this will work in larger room as everyone is talking about heating the bathroom only. Thank you for the review I might just try it later with amazon it's 45 pounds and free shipping for 15 minutes more on offer.
Idk I still use it in the Rv to keep little rooms warm or the bathroom. Stupid thing is great for that. If it ever smells funny though itâs out.
Going on what 3rd year now.

Not a very good deal for 350 watts and $30.
The big questionâŠcan it âheat up a 500 sqft room in minutesâ?
Nope it canât lol. But it does heat a room pretty well if itâs small like 250sq
300000minutes!
You did really good job I'm going to subscribe
Thank you so much and glad you liked itâŠ.đđđŒ
Great review, very thorough and informative. Thanks for sharing. Looks like it work well in my 22 ft. trailer.
Thank you, and yes should work great. I have a 29ft bunk house and does well.
Thanks for watching đđ
Hey Jonny thank you for a very nice and informative video. I was wondering if it was possible that i showcase some clips of your finds on tiktok. I will make sure mention your channel as the source.
I donât see a problem. Can you send me the link before publish. Thank you.
@@johnnysweekends Thank you so much, however tik tok doesn't have the option to send links before publishing. I will send you the link as soon as I make the post.
Ok please do. Thank you
You did a very thorough review here, sir! You highlight a lot of great points! As you say, this seems like a great product for the fall and spring temperatures.
Safe travels!
I have been using it a lot and the wife definitely loves it in the bathroom to keep it warm for showers. I probably like it more.
I tried it in the bedroom and it cooked me lol
It's a 350W heater, so that's how much heat it outputs. End of story. If anyone thinks that a heater that powerful is going to heat a large room they are deluding themselves. You are going to need a 2 to 3kW fan heater to do that. It's simple physics.
Exactly I dont understand why people get disappointed it wont heat a living room. Itâs for personal or a really small room. Just like I used in the video which I just used this same heater for a week in Quartzsite AZ. I just bought the same 450 watt with remoteâŠ
Great review and very thorough. Thank you!
Ad says itâs good for rooms up to 500 sq ft. Doesnât seem like thatâs a legitimate use for it. Iâm still skeptical.
Yea 500 is pushing it. Maybe decent insulation but 300 on down I say sure.
Bathrooms or really small bedrooms or Rv trailer bathrooms and bed rooms and such they work good. Better then I thought anyway.
LOLâŠyes, it a 350 watt heater.
Should be good for 100 sqft, definitely no more.
It's a cheapy heater that drop shipper buys for less than $10. it's probably as good as you can get for that price after I've done my research. There is a tear down vid on youtube. If you paid a lot more then you're getting ripped off and the advertisement for it by reseller has lots of false claims.
Is it UL rated? Looks like the Alpha Heater I bought. Says not to sleep with it on and always stay with it. I threw mine in the trash.
There are several names on it now. I think itâs still the same company but who knows. The black one the little buddy heater as seen on tv seems to be better quality.
Ty sir
Youâre welcome đđŒđ
Was a little surprised to hear you had a water hose to put out an electrical fire? Did I not hear that right?
I had a hose near by just in case things got crazy lol. Never know what can happen when testing stuff so better to be safe just in case. That was only for when I muffled the heater with the towels. In case it didnât shut off or towels caught fire I had water ready.
Safety first..đđŒ
Ok thank you! I get it...đ
đđŒđ
How about the noise? Thanks
These are whisper quiet. Watch my new video where I compare this one and a 800 watt buddy heater to see the difference
how much electricity does it take ?
Does it take or use ? I think it says all that in the video
How will it do for a 12 x 12 bedroom?...
Honestly I would go with the 800 watt heater budy for that size.
Here is one Iâm talking about.

Thanku for reply....haha..I thought when asking question..."ahh...if I get a response it'll probably be in like 6 months...."....but low & behold....u answered quick!....thanks again..yeah...I've seen that heater as well but was bought w/ the "slash energy bill by 30%" thing........I'm in NY...we have PSEG for the utilities...currently bill is at approx 80/month... (I'm currently renting a room in a house)BUT the heat is literally set to 64.....I work outdoors all day & rather be warm when inside.....I was thinking of telling the homeowner I'll pay difference of bill sin e this device is the only thing that could cause their bill to increase.....
Ahh got ya. Well if you use this heater 10 hrs a day. And itâs $0.15 cents a kilowatt hour. 300 watts x10 is 3000 watts. Thatâs about $.45 cents every 10 hrs. Times 30 days is $13.5 a month. But depends how much your utilities are
How does it work in the 60 Fahrenheit
Great I use it in a small RV bathroom at uppers 30s and low 40s and after 10-15mins itâs noticeably warmer 30-40 itâs real nice.
Of course this depends on size and how well insulated the space is.
Notice, he did not show an unboxing. Also, his electric outlet is
Also, if you look, youâll find that his electric outlet is very bulky, and not a household standard. This is not a review, it is an advertisement. The alpha heater is trash! I bought one, and, it canât even be plugged into a house socket without falling out. I found out that they are just non- branded junk form china, with a fancy drop shipment websites. Also, they come packed with generic instructions that state âfire hazardâ, â âdo not leave plugged in unattendedâ, â do not plug in too close to wallâ and â use power cordâ. If you buy one, good luck getting your money back.
Did you wanna see a box I can show one?
I only promote items that I think are cool or useful. Iâm not affiliated with Alpha or who ever that is or Brightown which is the heater in this video.
Funny how people complain itâs China junk, when I bet if I went into someoneâs home, 85% of the items you own now including what you typed that message on is made in China or more then 50% made in China.
I donât promote China, itâs just a harsh reality we live inâŠđ people wanna buy USA made items until they see two items side by side and then the price difference.
If itâs junk, itâs junk no matter where itâs from. Also, I said âunboxingâ, so as to see a 360 of the product. If you had done that, the viewers would have seen that the product could not be plugged into a standard outlet.
We are in the UK so I believe the unit comes with 2 pin plug so we will need an adapter.......which according to your video isn't going to work? Just concerned as we both 5 of these yesterday and the reviews are not so good....
They are only for small areas or personal heaters. Not meant to hear a home.
I donât know if they make a UK version
By design it canât heat an entire room itâs just a fan passing air through a heater coil, a tiny little coil. It wonât shut off based on ambient temperature, the sensor is self contained so it will only see the units temp. Your house can be 63 degrees F and the unit can reach 90F and it will shut down at 90, 90 unit not ambient.
True itâs not meant for a big room. Little rooms do fine like the one in the video. And it does shut off when the room reaches the temp. I had it shut off a couple times when it was set for 80.
But again a small room like that is where this will work decent any thing much bigger it will just run. It will continue to heat but never reach set temp.
@@johnnysweekends how can it measure the room temp? Unless it uses an external sensor that is networked to the device it can only sense the device temperature which will be much hotter than the actual ambient temperature. Itâs a heater you have to imagine itâs hot.
Has a thermostat like all the other little heaters. Measures incoming air from a sensor Iâm sure. Pretty easy now. You can make anything now a days.
Works for a small bathroom or closet.
REC'D ONE OF THESE NEVER WORKED..$50 DOLLARS OUT THE DOOR...CRAP!!!
What model? From Brightown? And why wouldnât you return it? They are only $30??
Don't buy the small heater that plug in the wall , Cause I did and it started a đ„ FIRE ,It was a new heater , I'm telling you all unless you want a fire đ„ don't buy the small wall heater .
Which model and brand??
I had a friend order me ,not this brand, but same style, however my bathroom has 1 outlet, and it's the kind of outlet with "test" thing on it. Apparently this particular plug in device i bought says not to use on those outlets. I NEED sumthing. My scumbag manager (not my landlord, it's an Ass'., where i rent put in new $400,000 new heat system for whole complex and our building not getting heat. No1 is)
So my ? Are all these little ,literal plug-in size ,plug in heaters, only meant to be used ,or not used ,on the "test" outlet. Idk this stuff but im desperate for warmth. (I sent the other one back)
Thank u!
By code you have to have one in the bathroom and kitchen because water is present and amount other things but I actually do that and use it over my GFCI but if you do that is at your own risk. I never leave it unattended in a room Iâm not in unless Iâm a few feet away.
I am only familiar with the Brightown brand.
Lol. Ass is right however i meant "Association" ,
đđ was wondering lol. đđŒ
@@johnnysweekends so gfci is the "test" outlet? I know. Your like 'duh!' Why is that type of outlet not recommended. And, i had mentioned, i have a portable "baseboard" electric heater, as well as a portable radiator kind and i have the baseboard plugged into my living room. As soon as i plugged in portable radiator in my bedroom, lost electric. Ran down. Reset breaker in basement. It happened again. While All the electric was out, i had rolled the radiator around and tried evryy outlet ,none worked. So ,!?! , its like what? My whole Apt is running on 1 circuit? (Which i also didn't know what that meant at 1st. It would be impossible , i think? , but why! WHYYYYY! are these outlets all like this) ,anyhoo, i am in Massachusetts and it's been a BITCH of a cold week. I got the baseboard style in my living room, been sleeping on couch. I literally can't move till the sun shines throu At end of Day. Im curious, bcuz i do still have the radiator plug-in. Stored in back room. Are those types warmer. I can't get simple answer on Google. "Portable Baseboard vs Portable Radiator plug ins" do you kno?
And ,if i were to plug in a tiny hand held type into bathroom (test outlet) do you think that will trip breaker?
And ,yes, i keep an eye. A very close eye. On all these things. I would turn on bathroom one and shut door. Then turn off so water don't splash. I may not know about outlets electric this / that. But ,I am cautious.
So a radiant heater provides heat sooner then a oil heater. But the oil heaters put heat all around. The base board heater I donât know with out really seeing what they all are.
Your test plug..GFCIâŠ.âground fault circuit indicatorâ or gfi for short is popped correct?? And when you press the button it resets or pops back out and wonât go in at all..?
If it goes in⊠then that set of plugs if I assume itâs allowing like 4 others to work should work unless there is a wiring problem, a device problem or it gets gets over loaded from to many items like heaters. Normally only one 1500 watt heater and then something else small.
If the test button wonât go in and it pops back out, then the plug/ GFCI could be bad, or bad wiring in a downstream plug.
So something needs to be checked. If renting then call the landlord and tell them. Electrical is no joke. They need to fix it.
The alpha heater I bought doesnât even heat my bathroom in 20 minutes. I called to return it.
I wonder how big a difference there is from the alpha heater and this model and brand. The people that have this brand and model seem to be happy with it as long as itâs used in a small room.
Why would you put any electrical devise near water & steam
Give me a example of what could happen.
Because I see several appliances in a kitchen that are near water all the time.
Are you saying if water was to splash on it⊠or what it falls off and maybe in the sink unplugged ??
