Frankie is an underrated component of the reviews. He has good timing, and never speaks out of turn. Him and Dave have a great chemistry, and he knows even when Dave is speaking to him, when it's appropriate to actually respond and when not to, which is hard to do (Molly on First Take).
well said, I've always respected the way Frankie never gets involved in a review even when Dave is doing something wrong
Agreed. If you watch the infamous Joe and Pats review, that whole first 3 mins of NYC insanity is captured perfectly thanks to Frankie’s sense of timing and composition. He know how to compose and how long to hold a shot for very instinctively that you know that in the hands of someone else, the piece would just look and feel different. It truly is a great 2 man operation.

But, after further analysis, the ridiculous nature of the large front pockets with the upper slanted pockets confirms the coat was purchased in the ladies section. Oh, and don't get me started on the flared bottom to give ample space for the roomy hips!

I had Rikos today and it was a solid 8.2…I would even go as high as an 8.7. I’m not a thin crust guy but it was incredible.

Riko’s is started from the same chef that used to be at Colony. There was a big lawsuit that ultimately failed, but Rikos is talked about because it was “stolen” from Colony.
As a Stanford resident it was great. Colony was cash only, no delivery no reservations. Riko offered delivery and credit cards, and forced Colony to adapt the same.
So I love Rikos(plus it’s 6 minute walk from my house)
Colony is nothing worth thinking about.
This is the truth. My favorite part of the story is when Riko was asked by the local paper for a comment on Colony’s lawsuit they replied, “How could we have stolen their recipe? Ours is better”.
Colony was notorious for taking their phone of the hook FOREVER!! on busy nights. You couldn’t even place an order.
I hope they can put out a pizza faster on Hope than they could Newfield. Cause waiting upwards of 30 minuets for that was seriously crazy.

@@CoberBox1 Unfortunately for you my friend, it was a stolen recipe. But theres no magic to the recipe, every kitchen person knows it, so there is no magic to it. Phone was taken off the hook because you couldnt fit more pizzas to cook, TOO BUSY!!! I worked in both kitchens, with all owners. All cool people. I personally like colony more, but rikos is "healthier". But who eats pizza and thinks of healthy? NOBODY.

Lmao, this episode was fantastic. One of my favorites for sure. Loved the ending edits and Dave pushing the door instead of pulling after saying superhero.
I do love these reviews. it's awesome to see all the different locations that capture the atmosphere around the pizza spot of the day. We will never hear Dave give an in depth breakdown about what is good or bad about the pizza other than he likes it, loves it, indifferent or hates it. they are either disgusting, average, good, or excellent without much explanation other than the visual of the flop/non-flop, or if it's crispy or greasy. an occasional mention of the sauce having zip. 90% of his guests actually attempt to give a detailed description of what they're eating to qualify their score, with much more success. at the end of the day it's still great entertainment thanks to the pizza and Dave's showmanship and the locations.. all style little substance, everybody know the rules.

I’m from this area. I actually worked right across the street from colony at one point. There is a HUGE history about colony and rikos. It is technically the same pizza but isn’t. You have to be a local to understand. Idk if you could find anything about it on google, but it was a big thing around these parts. A lot has to do with claims of stealing and such like that. Both great pizza though for sure. They are connected 100% in a Cullen different ways

I’m from Stamford. The story goes a cool from colony had a dispute with the owner and opened Rikos using the same recipe. They cook it slightly different and I prefer Rikos but they screwed colony. Colony is also the classic that’s been Stamford bar pizza joint for almost 80 years

This place just opened their first restaurant in MA and it's in my town. I ordered 6 pies on the first day they opened and it's awesome. The hot oil and Nashville Chicken blew my family's faces off, but I loved the Hot Honey and the white pizza (w/ricotta). Ordered a clam pie and a Fra Diavalo Clam pie, too. All of it was nuts. The plain cheese is dynamite. Def my new go-to place for pizza (and we already have a few tavern style spots, but this one smokes 'em).
