    This Tugboat was retired a few months later and is now being scrapped, the Tug had an 82 year career on the lakes.

      Too bad its a single screw, as its a nice old boat. Cal river fleeting hasnt scrapped it yet. Emd 645 still runs good. It hasnt met the torch yet. But that is the evntual plan. She has some nice cummins generators too.

      If I'm not mistaken they break up the ice only if & when a big freighter is on schedule 2 deliver goods they break it all the way from the mouth of the Chanel 2 Mort dock & that new business that just opened by the old cob plant. U would be surprised how often big freighters come through. Hauling all kinds of things.

      To let a ship enter port, you'd be surprised how big some of those ships can be.
