- We're learning more about the four people killed in a Long Island nail salon Friday and the charges the driver that crashed into the building is now facing. CBS New York's Kristie Keleshian spoke to longtime customers who call the salon a staple in the community.

Wonder how many times the driver has been arrested before this?
I heard at least once back in 2004 or something like that for a DWI. I've been over in this area of Deer Park a ton the past year or more, going to Tanger Outlet here and there,
and the thing is, Commack Rd. is fairly wide and super busy, but Grand Ave. is narrower but it is still busy since it has tons of businesses and feesds the south part of the Outlets,
etc. How this guy could end up speeding that fast from Kohl's across the Ave. to the strip mall is beyond belief. He must have been in total outer space and probably smashed the car up over curbs and other obstacles before even going into the nail salon. I mean he must have been doing at least what, 85-100? Or close. It would be easier to speed up and down
Commack Rd. I would think. (sober or not) This guy was so wrecked he had to work at it.
I read he was arrested back in 2013 on similar charges.

Yep, but as I said above, I know the area super well now, the past year or so in particular, going to Tanger, etc., and you would almost have to work at speeding that fast

As an ordnance shopping centers, malls and store /land owners should be required to put up the metal concrete filled poles they do slow vehicles down when grandma slams down on the wrong pedal in the parking lot. Grants should be allocated for smaller low income or nonprofits for installation. Grant Funds should come from fines of traffic violations by upping each a few bucks.

🤔 Are you required to pass *Annual Vehicle Safety Check + Proof of Vehicle Insurance* (or get your driver's license suspended) for "Guns & Assault Weapons" too? So if someone is hurt by a Vehicle, at least they can be compensated with medical bills and money from said insurance if not more. No such luck with guns though it should be!

We want to know why NYC is hiring all of these long Island people to work in the city . I have family from Long Island and they grew up thinking everyone in NYC was dangerous . This is a huge problem with NYPD hiring people who aren't born and raised to know the culture and the people .
