    If anyone is interested I have started posting diving videos on my channel - be kind as I’m still learning to edit. The last 4 have been with my new AcePro whereas the previous few were with a GoPro Hero 11. The other notable change is that the AcePro is good enough in low light that I am not using any lights with it whereas my dives with the GoPro all include a modest level of additional lighting.

      @@rafaelcarrasquillo6415 I did receive it and I also bought the Insta360’s X4 when it came out. I was using it in Thailand which had a temperature of around 40degC which did affect the battery time and it did shutdown a couple of times due to high temperature. I bought the control selfie stick with it which is handy for starting and stopping the camera. I do very little selfies and I don’t use the camera for long videos, I take lots of short videos then I use the Ai edit function on my phone 360 to create a long video from the short clips. I have found it quite fun for me and I’m happy that I bought it. I have a Sony mirrorless camera with a selection of lenses so I use these for photography and anything that are at a distance that I want to zoom in on so I don’t really use the camera for photography. Depends what you want it for but I’m happy and pleased I bought it

      Thanks for sharing your experience with the camera as well. Even though the Ace Pro has 8-bit video I still find the quality to be great with the Leica lens. For me, this helps offset the fact it isn’t 10-bit video. The night/low light capabilities on the Ace Pro are also great.

    Hi out there!
    Thank you a lot for all your work!
    I am buying the Ace Pro as my very first camera to track me and my dog Mantrailing. Do you have any suggestions for my video settings for this task?
    I ordered the Belt with the selfie stick on the back position and the chest mount.
    I would say most of the times we are walking fast or running a bit.
    I am very interested in the body language of my dog, so I may want to have parts of the video as slow as possible and maybe zoomed in on my dog as much as needed or possible. We trail most of the times at daylight, but sometimes it could already be dark outside.
    I think I would want Stabilisation and Horizon Lock. But i am not only new to action cameras, i am also new to filming in general.
    So every starter hint is very welcome! Thamk you!

    Nice walkthru, I'm very interested in the ND filter as a form of protection for that lens, some say the ND filter (UV) would deteriorate the image quality, would love to see the results of that. I've used ND filters and dive housing with mine actioncam and never had any quality loss issues. Thank you!

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  Před 8 měsíci +3

      Thank you! If used properly, the ND filter should not deteriorate footage quality. If the exposure value is at 0 or slightly under exposed this should be optimal for the video quality. I will definitely explain how I use these with this camera in the upcoming video.

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  Před 7 měsíci +1

      This is a great question. The only ND filters I’ve tested for the Ace Pro are the ones from Insta360, which are actually made by Freewell. I have used Freewell ND filters for years on many of my action cameras, iPhones, etc and I like the quality and how well these hold up.
      Other manufacturers may have perfectly good filters but I haven’t tried any of those yet on the Ace Pro. However, I have used filters from K&F Concepts and Neewer on other cameras and found both to be good for the price, so if you want to test out a lower cost brand for the Ace Pro, I’d recommend this set from Neewer: amzn.to/3vPQisB (looks like they have a coupon for these right now too).

Because I wonder if I can run it also in a race car where it gets very hot inside. And so it might last longer, because the batterie doesn't heating up the inside electronics of the Insta360. I am deeply researching for an action camera for a couple of weeks but still not sure which one to buy.. Which one would you pick between Ace Pro, GoPro 12 and Action 4 ? It will be mostly used for motovlogs for trips.
    - Ace Pro footage seems unrealistic and blurry to me sometimes but really good software for quick edit and fast charging.
    - go pro has the best quality of image but battery charging might be an issue for long trips. Not sure about the editing since I haven't experienced.
    - Action4 is in between but the quality of image is overall good but I heard software is not useful as much as others for editing.
    What might be your conclusion on this for a first-timer action camera?

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  Před 8 měsíci

      This is a great question you pose. I have used all three for recording while biking and all three can handle this task with no problems. If you want to edit on your smartphone all three do have software apps that can get the job done. However, if you are an Android user the DJI app may be more limited or not able to be used. I believe this is a GooglePlay Store issue but not sure of all of the reasoning.
      If you value fast charging, the Action 4 is the best with this and charges from 0-80% in about 18 minutes. I also consider the Action 4 to have the most simple menu for new action camera users. In this video I share the settings I use on the Action 4 for bike riding. don't you think that at 24 frames per second, any dynamic video is unpleasant to watch on a monitor and phone? How do you process if you have different frames in 16:9 (24) and freeframe (60), they don't even share? It would seem more logical to shoot 30 and 60 frames?

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  Před 8 měsíci

      I like the look of 24fps but that is a preference and I know not everybody prefers that. 60fps can be dropped onto a 24fps timeline and be played at normal speed or slowed down to 40% of the original speed and playback smoothly.

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes that is a fair point as well but it really depends on what someone is doing when filming in 30fps. If just talking to the camera with very little movement then 30fps is perfectly fine. If there is a lot of movement, especially side to side, then 60fps may be better. 60fps does create a larger file size and generates more heat, so those are both considerations that should be taken into account as well.
