    Such a big game changer for me. I can use these with my Akai LPK25(wireless) and just with an iPhone and the Ravenscroft 275 app (or any other) and it’s Rachmaninov in the back garden !! 😎

      🤣 new year sorted! Remember it’s only transmitting midi data so you can play the awesome auv3 plugins within your iPad.
      But still it’s a game changer in a studio or even live as it’s just less wires.

    I have a pianodisc 228cfx which has midi in/out pass thru. I have a pianocorder (cassette player) with a midi interface. I have always used a cable from the pianocorder interface midi out to the pass thru input on the Kaiwai 228-cfx and choose the midi pass through mode on the set up. I play the cassette across the room and the 1970's pianocorder technology will play my 2015 Kawai grand piano. Works great but I want to use bluetooth! Saw this widi master and immediately bought it! Plugged in both units, pushed play, blue light blinked as it should, the kawai widi master side also received the signal but nothing on the Kawai was playing! Tried every combination available but to no avail....works perfectly with a very long midi cable though! I did get a program called pianostream to play one Sinatra song via bluetooth into the Kawai but only once! It recognizes the widi master and it blinks blue but nothing is out put to the piano to make it play! 😡

    Phenomenal video dude. The only question I still have (which you briefly answered towards the beginning) is how does it work if I wanted to use 4 or 5 of them at the same time? Can you use multiple that connect to different sources? for instance we have two RC505 loopers, and we connect them via midi. I'd love to use these to wirelessly connect our 505s, and then I'd love to use [at least] one more to connect our keytar to our Native Instruments, and, potentially, another couple to connect our drum pad to or our mixing board to free up an input channel in the board.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK Před 3 lety

      It’s a great question and yes you can.
      So the latest firmware update allows you to assign them to groups - which will really help you. 👍🏻

    Great vid as always JP! So how do we apply this to the RC-600? I want to be able to have panning and volume up at my finger tips while using the 600. After seeing a video of a guy doing this using the Lemur app of OSC Touch app and a widi unit, I’ve been trying to figure it all out. Apparently, I am not smart enough to successfully accomplish this! Any chance you have or could and make a tutorial. Big ask I know, so tell me to bugger off, but man would that set-up be sweet! Keep up the great work my friend!

    Extremely interesting. My knowledge and using external midi is NOT the best. However I use a nearly new iMac, Logic Pro. L Pro has on board built in midi plug in synth and A whole host of other libraries of sounds for music production. However, I’d love to use my old arranger keyboards including a Roland E-30 which feature 3 five pin din midi sockets out in and through. The Roland E-30 hosts the linear arithmetic sounds and dates back to 1990.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK Před rokem +1

      It would totally work.
      Obviously sending midi to the computer or having midi on Logic sending it to the old keyboard which you could then record. 👍🏻

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK Před 6 měsíci

      That’s an interesting one.
      Technically yes as long as it gives you volume control as a midi cc number. You could use something like Touch OSC and build a fader inside 🎚️ the app and you could override the volume. 👍🏻

    Hello again, I just simply want to activate midi via Bluetooth rather than plugging cables. Is it very easy to set up and or in other words simply plug and play from external midi keyboard to logic pro via my iMac for example?

    Is it possible to have your iPad totally wireless. Ex: my WiFi master connect to my midi controller. Then my WiFi jack connect to my audio interface. Yes the speakers are plugged into the audio interface with wires.
    My only problem is doing it wirelessly I can’t get no sound into my audio interface.
    The WiFi master is on but not receiving midi. The iPad is receiving midi from the midi controller piano.
    What am I doing wrong or is this even possible?

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK Před 4 měsíci +1

      The Widi master and Widi jacks are for midi only and won’t transmit audio over. You would still need to plug the audio interface into the iPad so you can hear it through speakers or headphones.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
