    great clip cheers for the upload. People should think twice before abusing helpful videos. I've drilled and injected several properties now and roughed with Limelite renovating plaster with no comebacks on any. Saved me literally thousands of pounds.

      Luke Boyes it great to hear from people who are having success with the methods, we can only try and explain and if it helps then we are doing something right. We are not tv professional but the methods are what we use every day to provide damp remedial works in thousands of properties, we want to show people how it works and what we do,
      Thanks for your support.

    No house ever needs a chemical dpc. Find the cause and fix it. Job done

    • @iffyh8181
      @iffyh8181 Před 5 lety +2

      Stephen Gunner you need to find the cause as you said otherwise doing a dpc is a waste of time, could be a simple thing like rad pipe leaking under floorboards or chimney stack needs repairing

    Thanks for the video Sam. Am doing this at the weekend. We seem to have damp rising up through a solid ground floor in a terrace. I'm fearful of drilling through pipes etc! But anyway, a couple of questions, it's previously been injected (a long time ago I think) from the outside on the external walls, is it okay to re-drill the holes rather than drilling another set? And is it necessary to plug the holes or will a squeeze of acrylic/silicon sealant in the end do the job? Thank you in advance.

      Please make sure your treating rising damp by letting a competent damp specialist surveyor look at it, never use old holes

      It’s 25mm of the far edge of where your drilling no matter how thick the wall is, don’t go through the other side,

      We normally do but we sometimes also drill only from one side 20mm from the far edge. It’s what ever your competent at doing.

    Why do these treatments not carry lifetime guarantees....does it mean this kind of damp proofing will eventually degrade and fail?

    • @dampsam
      @dampsam  Před 5 lety

      What product do you know with a lifetime guarante? All products eventually fail for some reason. You could in effect do this but the terms and conditions would make it virtually impossible to claim.
      Who’s lifetime the product or the owner? If there are products out there with a lifetime guarantee have a read of the terms and conditions.

  • @MrDunosan
    @MrDunosan Před 3 lety +1

    why is this option have 50/50 result? 20 year guarantee meaning you going to inject more if it fails? i have a damp and im blown away by the comments.. The surveyor thinks its from the small bush just beside the window for some reason i dont know.. from a home-buyer’s report

    • @dampsam
      @dampsam  Před 3 lety

      Home buyers report is just a general overview they can’t understand the patterns of readings. You need a damp & timber survey by a competent person

  • @harrogatehomemaintenance2418

    Hi Sam i currently run a family home maintenance business and am considering expanding into more damp remedial work and wondered what the better coarses to go on are for me and stsff to be covered

    • @dampsam
      @dampsam  Před 5 lety +1

      harrogate home maintenance the PCA offer a few different ones but the technicians course sets out the basics in damp and remedial work. I would use this and have a look at there others to see what suits you work. Also which ever manufactures you use will do their own registered users course which are also worth doing to get familiar with the products so contact the reps of either, Safeguard, Sovereign, wykomol, JN, Hydie, Delta, Pam ties, there are quite a few.
      There are also lots of info on the manufactures websites and they have technical support for any questions. Thanks for watching, email me if you need any more questions answered 👍

      Craig Cook its quite technical and is to do with the Masonry pore being lined and this changed the shape of the meniscus from concave to convex, it still allows water vapour to pass though. For more details search on Safeguards site.

      Thank you for your comment and keen eye Mikey, there is a sub floor on that wall you might notice the air vent in the film. The oversight in the subfloor is below where we drilled and this wall did not have a dpc with the property being around 100 years old.
