Helllll nawww!!! Drayage is good but people don’t understand what goes in for Drayage. Ports are trash, no chassis, union workers treat you like trash, roto, in gate/out gate waiting time, waiting time to receiver containers bc no equipment to drop the container, no system for truckers to driver containers so truckers cut in line even though you’ve been waiting for hours, then waiting time for lunch/shift change, port equipment breakdown means wasted time and you STILL DONT GET YOUR CONTAINER, DOT setting up inspection points right in front of the port entrance to give out tickets, demurrage, no appointments to return empt containers, port gives wrong ticket and you drop container at wrong place they’ll charge you $3-$4k for their mistake on the in gate ticket. So much more on this list. The worse part is you’ll spend 6hrs just for one container then hours delivering it.
truck drivers pls pls pls do your research before doing Drayage.

Ugh where is the rest of this interview? I want to hear more from her about her starting her carrier company. We currently own a 30+ years carrier company and started a new brokerage with the hopes of getting more freight. Drayage is sounding pretty interesting to me.

Pay the tax get free land from the city, before she came I'm sure the land was just sitting there making no money so everyone wins by way of taxes, employment, ppl in the community spending money etc...
