What a happy ending, Ben Solo surviving and leaving Tatooine with Rey Skywalker and BB-8 aboard the Millennium Falcon and keeping Han Solo’s dice as a remembrance of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Leia Skywalker Organa Solo.
Princess Leia has had like 3 last names in these trilogy…

I'm not a fan of Ben/Kylo and Rey together romantically, but it breaks my heart that the Skywalker bloodline ended with him and that his last words were OW. What a "legacy"....
And a descendant of Palpatine. The one responsible for the tragedy of the Skywalker family, took the name for herself.
What the fuck
In a way you can see it as payback for EVERYTHING Palpatine did, he ruined Anakins life by manipulating him and controlling him for years. He ruined Luke and Leia's lives by taking their mother and father away from them and ruining any chance for a normal life, Rey Palpatine betraying her Sith grandfather and choosing good over her own blood AND destroying him? Seems like justice to me; its just the way they went about the story that needed some work.
Maybe one day another movie will reveal Luke had a kid out there all along.

I think they'll have a child. We know the force can do that, and Ben is now within rey and they are the strongest in connection and force in hundreds of years.. so I'm thinking that bloodline ain't done yet.
The really happy ending is that Rey wakes up, still an ordinary scavenger from the first movie, and says "what a weird dream!"
And she has the yellow saber in her hands, that she can't explain.

Ben's death sucked, He had the biggest character arc out of all the sequel characters (imo). It would've been nice to see him and Rey have a life together after he turned fully to the light and she learned that she didn't have to be defined by who her grandfather was. And that way it actually would've been "the Rise of Skywalker", instead of all the biological Skywalkers dying instead of rising. Thank you for a happy ending.
I'm pretty sure Ben being a war criminal would have put a damper on to his and Rey's happy ending. Even after he came over to the light he had to die. I mean he was complicit in millions of people being killed when Star Killer base pretty much destroyed the Hosnian System.

Rey then strikes down the old lady with Force Lighting while her face briefly shows Sith shark teeth and we hear Palpatines laugh echo in the background.

This feels like a perfect ending to something that had soo much potential. Like someone mentioned we finally get closure on the Skywalkwr bloodline and we don’t know what’s next. Things should’ve been different but whatever
Luke shows up and Rey suddenly discovers she has no powers, it was just Luke all along making her think she did.

The best alternate ending would be Luke Skywalker waking up after the events of ROTJ, and realize the 3 sequal movie events were just a bad dream and never happened. That is the best possible ending!!!

The real happy Ending would be Rey waking up, on Jakku, after getting High, and realising all The Trilogy of The Sequel was just a "Dream", and never happened, The we get to see The real Sequel George Lucas had planned

This ending would have been SOOO much better. Rey ends up with Ben at the end, after she turned him, he lived….and the Skywalker legacy continues. Also, with that added scene of him showing up, makes sense now as to why she chose Skywalker. Had they chose this ending, there would have been a lot less groans and sneers from the audiences when she says it.
This is now canon in my mind!

It would have been a happier ending if a meteor fell from the sky and crushed Rey, and then all we hear is Mark Hammel's joker cackling as it fades to the credit roll... with the words "we're just messing with ya... the true sequel Mandalorian Season 1 coming soon..."
I think what would have made the original ending much better was if Rey replies with "I'm just Rey." She doesn't take the Skywalker legacy, but she still disowns the Palpatine name.
This video is actually something similar to what I wanted out of the ending. Also, Rey could be warned about being with Ben, but she could tell the resistance that she and him were going to the unknown regions to discover the mysteries of the Force in order for the cycle of war to finally end, and that she would keep him in line (to stay good) - even if it means the government would try to hunt them down...
I like the fan alternative ending where Rey turns to the dark side the most 😆
The end of the movie promotes identity theft. Rey steals Luke's childhood home and takes his last name as a different identity. She then buries any existence of Luke and Leia.

When she ignites the lightsaber it reminded me of the death star firing its main weapon.
i WILL be honest, and i want to apologize that i was hoping for Rey to get shot, blasted, or killed for the whole video.
I mean, i thought the whole video was about that so...
Weird that this shows the scar on Ben's face. It disappeared when Rae healed him after the fight at the Death Star. He didn't have it in the final fight with the Emperor.
This is the ending needed in order to tie all the stories together
That ending at the end kylo and rey leaving together a palpintine and a solo in love the best revenge of a jedi that it brought peace and goodness

My biggest issue is that they couldn’t let Rey come from nothing. She could’ve proved that you don’t need to be born out of a big family name to be significant. She could’ve just been Rey and still be a great Jedi.
*Skywalker* the biggest family line of failures the galaxy has ever seen! If you see one, run the other way, really fast!!
And soon they will change the dice for a pair of baby booties, just dangling on the Millennium Falcon.
Better alternate ending: Rey dies and Ben survives. He goes to the Rebels and give them Rey's body for burial. Then he goes to Tattooine to bury the lightsabres.

The true happy ending would be Kathleen Kennedy getting fired for allowing this trilogy and Jon Faverno and Dave Filoni take over, and make a true sequel trilogy that actually respect Star Wars and the fans.
They should of never deviated from the original Thrawn Trillogy that they had planned.
Timothy Zahn's books would of been perfect.
The addition of an Anakin force ghost would have made a better fake.

I didn't care at all for Disney's 3 sequels. I watched the original "New Hope" countless times, but the Disney version only once and not sure if I'll ever watch it again.

Ben having to die in order to "redeem" himself for killing so many is beyond stupid. There are many ways to redeem yourself and in Ben's case, it would have been so much better if he devoted the rest of his life doing good things for people and helping as many as he can.
If this is a real alternate happy ending where other scene before this one where Ben survived if Ben is in this ending scene!

Just you wait for a sequel-sequel trilogy to come out. Then people will say they loved these movies, and that the new sequel-sequel is the one that ruined the franchise.
(people have been saying "this killed the franchise" since the first spin-off's, so I take it with an ocean-sized sprinkling of salt every time I see it... Star Wars is just un-ruinable.)
The first sequel is actually ok. It would be better if Rey isn't very op though.
Even so, I still prefer the EU (legends) continuity with Thrawn Trilogy and The New Jedi Order.
@@UntrainableWizard The problem with the prequel was the dialogue and far too much politics, but there was a clear story being told and a plan going forward along with care for Star Wars. George Lucas knew that by the end of the prequel trilogy he wanted Anakin to become Darth Vader. The Disney Shitlogy didn't care for Star Wars, only to make money off of it, and had no plan until The Last Jedi did horrible and they panic with the final movie. The Last Jedi felt like it was fighting with the Force Awakens, and the Rise of Skywalker felt like it was fighting with the Last Jedi to undo a lot that was done in that movie, introduced the main villain with no explanation as to how he was alive nor any set up of him being the main villain through the trilogy, and wrap up a poorly put together trilogy all in one movie while also trying to rip off Endgames army scene. You know a movie is terrible when the reveal of the main villain for the story is shown not in the movie, but in a Fortnite event and only spoken about in the title crawl of the movie.

if you think about it if Ben lived to the end of the movie it would not be a happy ending he would have to face justice for all the people he killed
If you follow that train of thought, then Han would have ended up in prison for smuggling, Poe would have been court martialed for disobeying Leia's orders, and Lando executed as a traitor and collaborator - this is - or was - a fairytale.

Rey became the wealthiest and most famous person on the galaxy, when she invented a planetary shield to absorb the energy blast of any Starkiller based energy weapon. The absorbed energy could also be stored and shipped to planets with low energy resources.
I was hoping the X-wing 0:20 in the forest would have a weapon misfire, alas it was not to be.

It still would not have been a great movie, but this would have been an improvement for sure.
I read the rumor that in Hollywood film, The character killed tons of people(or done evil thing) must die at the end, even the character finally repented. Maybe they could just take Ben's force ability or make him weak (Death of Kylo Ren) and let him live.
Instead of rey having a yellow light saber i would rather her have a purple. Showing she is good but also a palpatine

So... Palpatine has a large stake in manipulating the midichlorians, to make Anakin... Since Star Wars is a quite patriarchy-build world, one could argue that Anakin should rightfully carry the last name Palpatine instead of Skywalker... BUT!!!! That would also make Luke and Leia Palpatines.... Ben Solo would also have a claim to the name Palpatine, and Rey is the granddaughter of Palpatine (which Ben kinda is too)... Star Wars the Skywalker saga.... More like Star Wars the Palpatine saga....

Here’s an alternate ending for ya thrawn comes out of the hyper space looks at what Palpatine has become laugh his ass off, nukes the planet from orbit takes out that stupid fleet that Lando Calrissian brought, and then leaves the system and takes control of the galaxy, the end run with that
