      @OfficialGamesky  Před 7 lety +7

      i agree. i guess they stay away from that because most of their headphones seem to be designed for just sitting around at home use instead of wearing them out and about. i love these though and I think they look amazing too

    • @TheUltimateSlayer
      @TheUltimateSlayer Před 7 lety +1

      Gamesky Yea i love that they are super lightweight and comfy but i sometimes worry about the rare situation where say they fall off your head onto Tile floor or you just drop them onto hard floor. Plastic tends to crack or snap and get Super scratched up when dropped. So having the headband or the outside of the headphone being made of metal kind of gives me peace of mind lol.

      Gamesky Take the Beats pro's for example, i dont personally own them but ive seen and felt them in bestbuy multiple times. And man those headphones sure look like they can take a beating. Since there is so much metal lol.

    Your video made me decide to get these headphones for my PS4. Ok, it is not wireless, but I care more about a premium build headphone with a great open soundstage and crip sound so I can hear every detail in a game. All the other VSS headsets are crap in my opinion and I think that VSS on a headphone is more of a gimmick. Have you also tried these on your PS4 controller? I am planning to use the headphone output of my surround receiver.

      Gamesky Hi man, this hd599 review really got me excited. I'm researching for a week or so about new headphones to buy, mostly for my ps4 (I play mostly single player fps, and open world rpg/fps) but also a bit for music and general use, and my final dilemma is the HD599, or the Game Zero. The mic and multiplayer chat features are less important for me, I'm looking for that immersive, spacious, gripping experinece (like what you said about resident evil).

    I've heard other reviewers say these should be used with an amp, specially if using on your phone, laptop or even most computers. Interesting he is recommending no amp needed. I'm looking at grabbing these if they go on sale and for safety will likely pick up a portable cheap amp for around $40 to ensure it has enough volume.

    • @worm6820
      @worm6820 Před 2 lety

      Well it depends, if you have a good amp in your phone built in that would go pretty good, but if you have a cheaper phone without a good amp built in, 50 may be pushing what you can use, probably ok but not great and you may want to consider an amp, same thing goes for your motherboard in your as I said with your phone.

    Now im in really deep shit, I just fell over this review, and man you sell these perfectly and now I want these. Im in the middle of a proces of choosing new headphones, and I think I will try open back headphones for once. Now I have the Bose QC 25 and I use an AudioQuest JitterBug and The DragonFly Red for listening to my Hi Res Audio files and Tidal Hifi subscription. But I need som new headphones now to enjoy the music even more, but its a jungle out there on the internet of great and bad headphones. Ive sort of narrowed it down to the Philips Fidelio X2HR and now these Sennheiser HD 599. Because they really look amazing, but how about the sound, and how will they sound with my AudioQuest gear? It just is question upon question and upon question. My head is about to explode ;) hehe

    Good video... but I don't know man. The 599's are definitely a decent pair of quality phones...
    Now, I've had these for 2 months so far. And they don't compare to my $32 Koss KPH40 utility headphones. Veiled is a word to describe Sennheiser. or am I wrong? at least the 599's so far have made me think so... But bass is certainly there but feels lost. Never punchy. and the highs don't have that intimacy that I am currently still searching for..
    So far, I'm not sure if Sennheiser is for me.. Are the 6xx's similar. Fair assumption?

    Funny you say the 598 lacks top end and has more bottom end. Out of the HD range, atleast the older models, the 598 had the best top end, while the 558 had the best low end and the 518 sat right in the middle with a very flat response.
    I think the 518 way by far the best yet it was the cheapest, funny that, after like 100 hours of burn in they really came to life for me and after years and years of owning them I wanted new ones which are impossible to buy now, they 100% sold out and any used ones are selling for double retail price. Sennheiser themselves told me the closes thing now to the 518 is these the 599.
    I know I can still buy 598's and other special editions and such of those but if the 599's are better then I'd just get those. Easy to drive and an upgrade like you said, take the best from the 598 and the 600's, that sounds like an awesome package.
    For some reason I just prefer the sound signature Sennheiser offers in the HD range. Specifically the 518's because they have such good reproduction of sound that every note is heard and even bass is punch and fast while highs are there but not harsh. Since then I've just loved the sound and I think I'll pick these up next.
    P.S it's true, these/any open back sounds great for gaming.
