@thedefiwind is the biggest windsurfing race in the world. With over 1400 competitors blasting around the course in the strong winds of Gruissan, we are sure it is a challenge every windsurfer should take once in their life. However, going there alone for the first time can be a bit tricky.
Therefore, Surfcenter has organised the Defi Wind Experience! In this amazing week you'll explore the Defi Wind together with windsurfing proffesional @JordyVonkNED69, who will will supply you with all information about the race, both back at the shop and during the two training days before the event. Tuning tips from the pro's, a VIP registration and briefings before and after every race are all part of this experience!

Words cannot describe how cool this was. DeFinately the best windsurfing experience ever.
The guidance was beyond awesome. You can tell the Surfcenter guys and Jordy just sincerely love what they do.
During the first race I had many moments to bail out. Alone I would definitely have stopped halfway the first run.
But I finished all 4 races.
Last race made it 351 out of 1400.
Preparation is everything and the group makes you super motivated to beat the little guy on the shoulder telling you “you can’t….”
Besides practicing the best sport in the universe, it’s also personal development and you are in it together, safely guided by the best and Nr. 1 DeFi fin-surfer in the world: Mr. Jordy Vonk - 69
Totally greatful to be able to check this off my bucketlist.
And put it on again for next year 🤙

Watching the video for the second time made it even better. Apart from the fantastic support by the Surfcenter team they have also done a amazing job on creating this video and I love the supporting music to it! As a two-timer I can say that Jordy and the Surfcenter team are on a steep learning curve creating a really unforgettable Defi Wind experience. Looking forward to next year!

So envious of this initiative. Pity I live so far away from Surfcenter (over 2000km) and from Gruissan (over 3000km). Would be great to participate in the Defi one time.
I live in Riga. 2800 km from Gruissan. This was third time in DefiWind. This costs some money and time, but worth it.
Thanks Fons! Luckily, the theory evening could be followed via a livestream! The travel to Gruissan may be long, but indeed this should be well worth it!
@@marvelgrey, wow! Well, I know some people from Estonia have also travelled all that way. I could do it as I drive a van with all my gear. But it is mainly a time-thing. I have family, dog and work. Surely, I will try one time in the near future.

Hello. I have a series of questions about Defi. Until what day can you sign up for the windsurfing test? Registration is the first day, right? Is it a very hard race? I have an upper-intermediate level. Is a windsurfing race dangerous?
