I'm not sure if you noticed, but during Seungmin's red string part, you can see him in a hallway with The Shining carpet; this carpet and hallway also features in the Case 143 music video! Some people have theories about how they're connected, but I'm not sure.

In the Venom MV you'll see several strange situations that symbolise the illusion of control and also willingly walking into a trap and being deceived e.g. the bow and arrow. Chan is holding the bow so it seems as if he's in control because he has a weapon but I.N is actually holding the arrow. Another example is Hyunjin holding the gun but Han is the one who holds the gun to his own head. There's also Seungmin seeming to throw a baseball but it turns out to be a grenade. Then there's chess board but the game is unfair because all the pieces are white. This fits with the concept of being caught in a spider web. Also, just to point out some word play - gomi = Korean word for spider and when they say "got me" it sounds like they're saying gomi
This gives us both a new way to look at things!
Fun fact: Han said he wasn't supposed to wear a shirt at first but he decided to 😂 Same for the Zombie version of Maniac,but he decided to wear a sheer one

there's a theory that the mv is too about trust, for example , the first scene they all are tied up while there's a bomb about to explode, but changbin escaped, so if they can trust him, he will untie them before the bomb explodes, chan was grabbing the bow of i.n towards him as if trusting that i.n will not shoot the arrow and a good example of what you said about the magic trick when changbin and chan's scene, the partner has to trust the magician, that kind of tricks are all about trust. And then there's hyunjin who "kills" han when he points the gun at him, you can see under his head as a pool of "blood" in one of the scenes and then lee know that he poisons the food and more things that blow minds hahaha like why is seungmin alone? it's suspicious and then he shows the exit to felix who's controlling the "spider" and close the door like nobody will scape from here. But i don't really know what's the mv about but the theory fits in some things. Anyways i love this mv and this song SO much so thank u for reacting to it, i feel like i love u girls cause you're doing my days better and your reactions are the best thank u again for your genuine reactions and opinions. Venom is awesome! I think that the instrumental goes very well with all the spider imagery. This is my second favorite song on Oddinary, just behind Charmer (can't wait for y'all to hear that one eventually!)
It really does! Someone mentioned to me that the plucking noise was kind of like plucking the strings of a web and I love that imagery!
I.N and Seungmin in this M/V was something i wasnt expecting when i first saw it. They're normally dressed mature but still you can somewhat tell that they're the maknae but in this they look so grown up. Seungmin walking at the end with Felix like he owns the world and I.N with the bow and arrow looking absolutely fantastic. They both look amazing in black/silver
The song is telling that they're in a toxic relationship but they love it so much so they don't want to escape (just like felix said in the last line)

The impression I got from the song was about them being caught up in the industry and all that comes with it. The toxicity but also the allure. That it wasn't what they expected, but they are in it and won't let all the bad overwhelm the good. That they will overcome it. That's just my opinion anyway...lol

Sorry a bit late but does anyone mentioned about the Venom MV having inspired by some Art Pieces as well, like the one them eating at the table is a bit obvious but the most intriguing one is where Channie and I.N's part where its an art project is called "Rest Energy" and Marina Abramović was holding the arrow to her heart. they stood there for over 4 minutes. She said that this performance was about complete and total trust!
Also the Venom BGM was now officially used as BGM for Lancome the Luxury Brand for their Makeup ad with Zendaya in it!! 😭

they took "venom" way to seriously in the mv, as u say, everything is meant to hurt 😅 while the lyrics emphasizes on "spiderweb", which is the korean title. and when combined they showcase that intentional choice to stay in a toxic relationship coz they themselves enjoy it even when it's toxic (my first thought was the industry, coz they love their job as musicians and performers even if the industry is way too toxic like stalkers or expectations or outright threats)
We think they're talking about the industry too. It makes a lot of sense especially if this is on the same album as Maniac!

I wasn't expecting y'all to react to Venom so soon! It's so good!!! I'm a little biased because it's my favourite song on Oddinary lol but, it still hits months later. Yeah, as a HyunSung (Hyunjin and Jisung) stan, this video was rough to get through 💀 All 8 of them looked phenomenal in this video. I will say though, you should probably mentally prepare yourself for the video for Freeze because I'd argue that one is even worse 😂😂😂
Yeah we wanted to react to the MV before watching the MAMA performance. So it's a little out of order but I'm really glad we did! The song is so good.. it's stuck in my head 😭. The video itself was so striking that it's going to be one of those that sticks with me for a long time. Freeze is worse 😨????

If I remember correctly this song was about having a toxic relationship with someone (could be romantic or platonic) and not being able to let go of said relationship, but I could be wrong. Loved the reaction and cant wait to see your reaction to their mama performances

I like this song conceptually, the instrumental and concept are a very good match. I wouldn't probably like the song as much otherwise but since I heard it while watching the video etc, I really liked it. Not saying that the song on its own is bad, but the whole thing together is what really made it really good for me. The visuals are a 10, but that's a given 😂

Such an amazing way to start an album. This is one of my favorite songs from them. It helps that it's from their best album imo. Maybe on your reaction trail, you can go by the album in track list order instead of mv release order. Just a suggestion...either way I'll watch all y'alls reactions. I swear youtube be wildin'. I have literally watched and liked every Stray Kids vid ya'll have posted and I KNOW I was subbed to this channel. I noticed a couple weeks ago that it seemed like several of the channels I was subbed to was dropped off my subscription list. Your channel was one of those. I resubbed. Then today I come to watch this video and it says that I AM NOT SUBBED AGAIN! So resubbed again. lol.

This song and MV just scream "codependency" to me. I'll explain that after I give my interpretation here...
Taking the group as a unit and speaking of the whole as 1 person, we have someone who has willingly allowed himself to become trapped in a relationship that is intoxicating but also dangerous, painful, and unfairly balanced. He KNOWS that it's dangerous but chooses to walk in, eyes open wide. He's wrapped so tightly around the other person that he can't exist without them, because it's those hands that captured him have also intoxicated him, addicting him to that touch (I think of the "spreading poison" as if they're referring to the types of spreading chills or "electric feeling" at a lover's touch). Once he's addicted, he no longer sees the situation as threatening even if he sees warning signs, because it feels more like a "dangerous game" than something to fear... he goes so far as to give his partner the ability to "end" him, while maintaining the illusion of control (holding the weapon while the partner controls the aim and use of the weapon).
He acknowledges that it's stormy (raging hurricane) but doesn't see a problem with that, and says they can take it slowly because he's tied up and has nowhere to go even if he can escape. He has recognized that he's overpowered by the partner's charisma and that every movement makes the partner's hold on him tighter... suddenly we're hit with his realization that looks are deceiving, that this relationship has been nothing but being controlled and kept poisoned by what seemed to be a loving partner... but that only lasts long enough for confusion to overtake him because he's once more caught between feeling thrilled and feeling chilled, trying to escape but knowing it's already too late.
The icing on the cake? He knows exactly how to escape (they find the exit), but chooses not to leave (Felix looks out, then pulls his head back in and closes the door again).
I say this seems like codependency to me because he can't seem to escape despite knowing the way out, and the partner can't put him out of his misery despite having the means to do so. Being codependent is sometimes referred to as "relationship addiction" and usually leads to relationships that are one-sided, destructive, dysfunctional, emotionally unfulfilling, etc.
If we want to try to make a case (no pun intended) for tying this together with "Case 143", then I'd say that "Case 143" either comes before (love takes him over, makes him a fool willing to go into this kind of relationship despite the danger) or during this whole experience (he becomes intoxicated by the touch, making him fall, and so forth). Apart from that possible correlation, I'm not sure there's much that I'd be willing to sit and make my brain work to figure out, lol.

When I got the notification, I was weirded out because only one song ? And then I got the second notification and I was like oooooh.
You don't understand how this Hyunjin impacted stays back in march.... He had every stays in a chokehold literally, Hyunjin's part is almost always the favorite part of stays in this song.
And then I was there thinking "oh Hannie looks good and I really love his rap" (guess why 😂😂).
For the storyline.
Here I'm not sure if it's linked to their original story line or if it's something independant. All I can say is that in Oddinary, Minho killed all the members twice and one of this time was here. And secondly it seems like they all became villains (they became Xdinary Heroes fans... sorry I had to make that joke even if you won't get it because I'm more in my Villain era than in my stay era 😂😭. And it's not that funny considering the fact that they are actually Villains and that they are friends with Xdinary Heroes.) No more seriously, you saw Changbin the way he escaped without the members or Hyunjin pointing a gun at Hannie or Felix controling the spider.
Fun fact I'm also really afraid of spiders, considering the fact that I live alone it's hard.... but I'm not afraid of the spider in this video don't know why...
Now I have to talk about some outfits !!!
For Hannie, you said that you thought he didn't have a shirt underneath..... actually he shouldn't have one. It was too revealing so he asked for a shirt but he wasn't suppose to have one...
And Seungmin !!! Finally someone talking about his outfit ! Like the chains and everything I was so shocked when it went out !
And lastly fun fact they recreated some art pieces in this video : a picture and a painting.
The picture I don't remember the name of the picture but it was the moment with the bow and Jeongin and Chan.
For the painting, it's like the diner with like God and it's the moment Minho kills everyone 😂.

One of the best songs SKZ has put out!! The choreo to this is WACK....but I have to warn you there is a giant spider that's in the Venom MAMA performance...It's obviously fake and just CGI but..yeah...if I had arachnophobia I would want someone to warn me. The normal concert version of Venom doesn't have as much spider imagery but they still LOOK like spiders...it's so creepy and amazing. But the MAMA version is soooooo goood!!!!!! SKZ always creates remixes for award shows, so Venom *and* Maniac are MAMA remixed versions....just top tier!

If you didn't record it already: you might want to watch the Oddinary Trailer as well, because it's all closely related. But you don't have to, because you already said that it's a lot this week and I don't want to give you more pressure 😅
I'm still convinced that this music video is tightly connected to Case 143, because in the scene Seungmin and Felix at the end, it's the same carpet as the one in Case 143 (which is also the same as the one in The Shining). I hope there will be a continuation of this storyline in the next album, (or SKZFLX because that's still to be released for this year omg) because I'm very, very, very, VERY curious.
With the music video/song, I think it's pretty much about being enamoured with another person, but that person's not good for you, but you keep coming back to it anyway.
