This DLC event is live only for a limited amount of days you have until the 19th of Feb to grab those Rare Coins inorder to speed level like I did early ingame.
You need to have x8 Rare coins per level 1 spell craft to give you the appropriate Exp boost any lower will just result less exp any higher will be a waste and wont benefit you any better than 8.
For CH1 Bandersnatch is the best monster to do this although there is a level 50 monster in a dungeon, but I never progressed the story to deal with it

As for the hotel I went all the way to the bottom of the map where there should be a long road leading to a beach-side area. That hotel gives double the amount of exp you already have. Dont waste your exp on trailer park lodgings.
This may seem like a wasted effort to endgamers since theres alot of better monsters out there to farm or do hunts, but this is just a matter of preparation to harder boss fights/hunts and the 120 level cap increase on the upcoming new game patch.

Ok let me be clear on this b/c ppl are coming in here with the wrong impressions on how XP is calculated then call me a liar or this is clickbait and salty dislikes. Aside from that the Moogle Chocobo Carnival DLC to get Rare Coins is no longer available so this method is useless for the time being. Just play the game get Moogle charms and do the Time Hunts to get xp. Being level 99 on CH1 is nothing more but bragging rights the game is already dirt easy.
Anyway as mentioned in the video you have to use "More" than 8 Rare coins guys, that's the whole point of farming roughly x200 of them basically 2 sets of x99 Rare coins. You aren't going to get to level 99 with just 8 rare coins.

@@averybluemondayful You can actually access it at literally any point in the game so... Not click bait. He asks people to read carefully and stop complaining and yet what do you do? Lol.. All you need is the festival ticket (from downloading the holiday pack) and you can head to the festival. It's a limited time event though so it's not around 24/7.
TheRedHairedDuelist 1 Did you even read his comment? Or even watch the video at all? The event only lasts in a certain time, so obviously it’s not available right now. He said in the video and the description that the event would end soon

Great video and you do have bragging rights. The first thing they need to notice is that you ARE level 32 to begin with. That means you did a lot of grinding to get to that point. Second Gladiolus survival skill was at level 5 which means you did a lot of running around before you started the walkthrough. For the people that don’t know at level 5 Gladiolus will start picking up rare coins and glass gemstones. Carnival or no carnival that’s a lot of grinding. My hats off to you my guy.
Yeah I spent a good few days at the the carnival for sure but it wasn't too bad. I would either listen to music or lurk a live stream at the same time. This was all done before we had game breaking DLC and Save Wizard which could have saved me a week worth of rare coin farming.

You could also just fight low level enemies. The Exp casts give a fixed amount of exp points which is entirely dependent on the bonus level. Level 96 is basically around 20,000 per cast no matter the monster level.
I beat one of those lvl 74 Imperial Mechs they drop sometimes in Chapter 3 when I was lvl 23, it took a lot of cheese with Magitek Armor and Phoenix Downs
Yeah I used to farm them alot mainly for the magitek armor V2 those are rare drops but it's worth the farm giving you godly stats if you have multiples equipped tho i usually have 2 of them and a ribbon on each party member

Cameron Cooper Yeah its crazy to alot of folks or casuals but I grind so much in mmo rpg it's become natural thing to me so I'm pre equipped with patience. Those hours went into the DLC event to farm rare coins I barely touched the main game

How long did the coin/medallions farming take? I'm thinking of getting the materials for the weapon upgrades first then the rare coins

Well if you are aiming at 99 rare coins then it will probably take at least 1 full day with minimum breaks. Took me 4 days casually with breaks on my first set of 99. Getting 84 on my 2nd set took me 2 days with less breaks since I pushed to 50 in one day and got 34 more the next
Did you have gladio pick them up or did you find them by way of sparkles on the ground?
How did you farm the rare coin please let me if there is a really efficient way to get them!

he only shows up early in the morning I thinks its like 5AM ingame plus you must kill all the monsters in that area or he will never spawn.

thats kinda the point if you kill him to quickly you get less xp. So the strategy is to make the fight long as possible until I run out of rare coins
Bro the thing that shits me and likely everyone else is that these videos flood the recommended, when your straight up ignoring just how much time you put into farming rare coins. Like it's just so cringe that you wouldn't mention it, esp when people new to the game have no idea how long that part takes.
I guess your new to CZcams as well because everything is stated with video proof on how i farmed rare coins in the description. PS if you want to lvl up your party just play the game normally like 90% of the comments I get here.

so in about a week the booster pack will release (including power ranger outfits (ik they said it isnt but you cant help notice they have similarities)) and the level cap increases to 120

Hmm I'm not entirely sure, not that much I would guess considering theres a hotel that could triple the amount of exp you have if you are at endgame then it really depends on the monster you are farming since rare coins are definitely more effective endgame so you should be 120 in no time . Plus you'll have more ways to gain even more exp besides coins/hotels

Think this was nerfed because I get no where near that amount of xp
the xp you get from the monster or the amount of xp you have? The only reason I had 800k xp was b/c i was farming way before I made the video. This method isn't much of use anymore since the Carnival DLC got removed which was my source for Rare Coins. If you used Debased Coins you get less xp compared to Rare Coins
MasterJ360 the amount of xp from rare coins. Only got 150k for 8 unless that's the standard.
You have to use more than 8 rare coins to gain alot of xp so basically when you run out of castings {The first 8 rare coins used} you need to add another 8 rare coins to the casting . Did you see this part of the video? 4:50 only using 8 coins is probably standard for 150k but I used way more than that in the video
the best way is to stay lvl 1
if you stay level 1 you get more exp from everything in the area. the level 42 mobs at night give you a natural 3k exp. You cast blizzard and it slows them and just keep warp striking them.
so you do a lvl 94 boost on them

You'll have to keep re loading the save slot till you see him. Don't waste your time fighting him if you dont have alot of rare coins. There are better ways to lvl up

Is there a way to level 99 in chapter 1 without the rare coins? Even if it sounds absurd but...it is possible?
If you play on pc use a trainer that's your only best option
why not have one of each spell with 8 coins prepped that way you can spam spells.
Ideally you want to use the weakest spell possible, but yeah multiple spells would be more convenient in terms not having to reload a single spell with coins

The only downside is being over-leveled early game. So unless you want to keep the game challenging I wouldn't do this till endgame where being level 99 is a requirement to defeat special bosses/hunts
The downside is that according to his game clock, it takes about 72 hours to do. Playing normally that'll get you halfway through the game with a similar level anyway.
Juuso Luukkonen you won't be 99 beating the game you would just have a bigger advantage of gaining more exp. Triple exp hotel exp foods and exp accessories

its not a glitch and no doesn't work b/c it requires the moogle chocobo carnival event to farm rare coins. Plus there are far more better methods in gaining exp playing the story is one of them lol this video was just for bragging rights to show proof we aren't level locked on early chapters.

Read the description everything is already explained. But even so this method wont matter unless they bring back the Moogle Chocobo Carnival Event since thats where majority of the grinding is held for rare coins. Getting exp is so dirt easy now all you need are all the Moogle Charms and just do the Time Hunts. When this video was made we had no Time Hunts

No you cannot do this method b/c the Carnival Event isn't back. Moogle Charms are in the game you'll need to watch other videos or google on how to get them

76hrs, waste of time. I got to 99 around the 50hr mark just actually playing the game.
iSoappp i didn't do this for time sake it was a personal goal to be 99 at the start of the game. Very few can claim that achievement

It's fine ppl don't understand if a game was made with the intent to be easy for casuals theres really nothing to brag about unless you do something extreme to fit the means. I simply challenged myself to earn this level at the earliest chapter possible. Sure I wasted time, but gain a crop ton of credit for the effort which is why ppl are flocking to this video even if its pointless to them :) if someone wnats to beat the game at lvl 1.... give them credit and respect for it. Its the same thing in my situation
