The Möhne dam and reservoir - English Version

The Möhne reservoir is a source of energy, a recreational haven, a habitat for rare animal and plant species and at the same time an important place to work. Almost two dozens of Ruhrverband employees work here every day to make sure that the reservoir can fulfil its most important tasks: to contribute to secure water supply for millions of people. Let us take you an an exciting journey through the more than 100 years of history of a lake that was once Europe`s largest reservoir.

I visited approximately 30 years ago, whilst holidaying in the area. (I am English), It is, and was, an absolutely beautiful place. I would love to return and spend more time.

Been here twice, in the past few years only for a weekend day visit for each trip ... enjoyed the trail that fully encircles the lake & the Cafe that was shown in the video.
