I'm an avid collector of Pokémon card collector, but there's no way I'd ever get rid of my old games and consoles.

This was a good deal back then but unfortunately these boxes skyrocketed in price and its easier to sell a single box instead of multiple little things.
I probably would have kept the sealed boxes in a safe and forget about them for 10+ years.
It depends what he wants. If he wants money now, then he made good trades. Otherwise Evolutions would have given him more money over time.

Dude I remember when the psp came out, me and my dad went to best buy to walk around and I just kept looking at the psp and he just bought it for me, it was not cheap. I loved that thing so much but then two weeks later It slipped off my hands and fell and I broke the screen. That was one of the saddest days ever. I never told my dad I broke it

Kinda funny seeing this video now, for around 5-6months back I purchased 3 of these booster boxes myself for around $300 and around 1month ago I sold those for $1200 each.
So $900 total invested and got $3600 for them.

for real, scummy stuff, at least tell them that you were throwing these boxes around with no regard for the cards... Then trading and making hundreds of dollars off the guy, I would NOT trade with phoenix resale if I was near him, id avoid him like the plague, seeing as I dont want to get ripped, bro why would you toss 500$ boxes, even lightly onto a cushion, if you did that to an individual pack the cards are instantly fucked. theres a chance those cards are fine but its risky to be so careless. Set them down, dont be "cool" for your youtube video

I subbed at the 3k mark and I have very little interest in video games. I like the mechanics of the deals, the strategy behind it, and the presentation.
I would've kept the boxes tbh. The evolution boxes are currently going for over 800$ and 1000$ in mint condition.

I've would've kept the pokemon boxes and sit. Overtime the value of pokemon will continue to go up and there at least a $1000+ card in each box. Just speaking for myself tho

I think the next time u got many boxes of trading cards of the same. For example u got 5 boxes do what u did in this video and open up the fifth box and sale card by card and add up the value from the salving of each card against the total value of the bulk trade

Are there underground Pokemon tourneys going on right now in the midst of the pandemic? Why are these cards so hot?! Not a Pokemon guy at all so please fill me in..
Resale value for those looking to make money on the hot item train. Some of these are selling to collectors but mostly those looking to be on the hype train. My personal opinion is people are board due to the current state of the pandemic and artificial demand is sending these cards through the roof. You have you tubers buying and opening and giving fake values on live streams, the thrill of attempting to pull a mint card out of sealed boxes/packs is driving box prices up. The bubble will pop on these by next summer and they will return to their normal trending prices. Now the items he is trading them for have already shown trend values at what he is stating so they have a better chance of staying at the values he is saying and will be a better ROI long term then the cards. Also I am not sure if this is the same with Pokémon cards but with sports cards they were shipped in cases and there where theories/processes to pick the boxes that likely contained inserts or rare cards and a lot of dealers plucked them for personal use/open them resale cards and sold the remaining boxes at value out the door knowing it would be even rarer for those to contain a good value. I wonder if this is the case with the boxes we are seeing online for sale.

I thought that everyone wanted the original base cards from years ago. Didn't know that the current cards could be worth so much...Crazy times

Those XY evolution boxes jumped in value in January 2021, $1000 a box. A lot easier to sell that than a ton of video games, feel like he lost on these trades. :/

I remember when I got $75 Evolutions booster boxes when no one at all wanted them.. I opened them up though. I thought it was weird that they went up so much in price because I thought it was a kinda shitty set.

Shafted that guy on the first trade. Said you were doing 3 and then told him there was not enough value for 3. Lol. $900 for $1900 come on. That’s enough value. Then you say you cut him a deal on the 3rd box and still got $600 or more. That karma caught up to you on that 4th box though. It’s a shame you are not going to make a $1000 on that initial $300 investment. Keep hustling and grinding. Just be somewhat fair. Good karma will come.

I personally would have opened 3 of the booster boxes and kept the others sealed for the future. Those will just go up in value.
In the long run you'll regret. The evolution booster box will continue to climb in price. Going to be worth $2k plus each booster box. Third trade was bad as well. Those gamecube games still very easy to find out in the wild cheap. Evolution booster box you wont go out in the wild or garage sale find it for cheap.
