I love this song . I was listening to eat when I found out that my neighbour died . He was 50 years old . He was kind , friendly and loved sharing his home grown vegetables with his neighbours . He comes to my mind every time I listen to this amazing song !I am so happy you liked this song .

I just thought you ought to know that James is the name of the band, not the singer. His name is Tim Booth, who originally joined the band as a dancer. The only original band member remaining is bassist Jim Glennie, after whom the band is named. The face on the cover of the _Pleased to Meet You_ album represents James, as it's a computer generated composite made from photos of the individual band members. As to the song itself, the lyrics are quite sparse and appear to be about a certain lifestyle lived close to the edge in a non-sustainable way - it's all messed up, but they're getting away with it, just about. I particularly like the bass line. It starts off as simple 8th notes, two bars each of D, F, C and G, repeated over and over. But it gets more interesting as Jim introduces fills and shifts higher up the neck.
