I compare this to the West and it makes me feel embarrassed and sad about the lack of REAL culture in England. Where are the respected sacred traditions and unspoken shared common values? Nobody will say this but it's tied into the downside of the Western intelligentsia's obsession with 'globalism'; with personal freedom, individualism, entitlement and 'diversity'. It's part of the same ball of yarn. There's something to be said for a country with a long history as a monoculture, or at least one that has managed to avoid being ravaged by sudden mass immigration on the disorganised scale that has occurred here in the UK. To even bring this up is to risk being smeared as the 'r' word or just as a yokel xenophobe who is economically illiterate, psychologically toxic and intellectually lost at sea. The conversation is hard to have in public. It becomes shrill, dishonest and silly.
There are no core shared cultural values for newcomers to be subsumed into; the host nation (England) is insecure, in flux, weirdly tribal and full of self-hatred and in thrall to the United States. Pfft, so much for the great, warm embroidered quilt of our multi-cultural 'society'. There are generous (yet broken) national systems in place, all picked apart by vultures and mercenary scavengers-- that's the UK and its people, that's our unified great culture and society. On New Year's Eve I stay in as the entire country is crawling with self-absorbed obnoxious drunks who are either a danger to themselves or to total strangers. There's litter and vomit everywhere. The hospitals brace themselves for HUGE influxes of patients in A & E. Taxi driver's being harassed, train passengers menaced and too much visual ugliness, debauchery, decay and disrespect for me to deal with. It hurts. There's ribaldry, joie de vivre and gay abandon and then there's...well, the UK on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Ugly. It's never a 'New Day', it's the same old pattern urinated on the brick wall of possibilities year after year.
Thank you for this charming, uplifting video. Family, kindness, tradition, warmth and respect for environment and surroundings. Wonderful. So many of us are hungry to actually SEE in ACTION that 'better way'. This video is that 'better way'. I was so happy to see it. 🙏

If you think that is the case I have to suggest you do some readings. The entire socio-political structure of the world as well as modern political, philosophical, and social ideals and norms are all either rooted in, based on, or heavily influenced by the English. There has yet to be a nation or empire more influential than the britsh empire.

@@wh1sp3rr Hi Michael! Are we going to discuss history and theory or what's going on outside our windows in England today? Such a shame when things fall apart instead of strengthen and improve. Hope you're having a great weekend so far and that your year has started off well.
