AH-KAT-SKEE (the 'u' is silent) - "Aka" in Japanese can mean "Red" (赤), and "Tsuki" can mean "Moon" (月). As such, many believe Akatsuki stands for "Red Moon/Crimson Moon". However, the correct kanji for Akatsuki is 暁, which means "Dawn" or "Daybreak". Su is a natural stage general, even at 16 or so as she was here - and, at the end, one can see she's already got her Death Stare down pat! There are a few versions of this song and they're all different but equally beautiful - though this is my fave. 🦊🤘🤘🦊

I love the composition of that solo. The way the two guitars' melodies diverge with one holding notes while the other plays a faster melody, then come back together and switch it up is so well done.

Another nice suggestion to keep enjoying SuMetal's solos. The One is getting crazy recently with the new collab between Lil Uzi Vert and BM, don't rush on that thou.
While SuMetal is performing this, the other girls are taking a break to come back after this song and perform their own songs under Black Babymetal subgroup.
This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge this is.
This song got a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must.
In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a neverending love.
Akatsuki it pronounce almost with the "u" silent so it goes like "Ah - kats- ki", it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why is a homage to "Kurenai" (crimson) by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to "X" live version.
This is one out of four solo she has on the repertory, the other left are "No Rainbow No Rainbow" and "Amore", same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997.
Also you can find Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 which is a ballad version with only a piano playing behind, similar to the new Monochrome Piano Version.
The Kami Band in this Black Night are the same you saw at Rondo Of Nightmare: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Takayoshi is the one with the pink guitar (aka pink-chan) and was Mikio's pupil, he also got a golden guitar, everyone loves Taka.
There's another special version live at Budokan 2021 with a grown up and more mature SuMetal vocals and some winks to another versions.
Next suggestion to celebrate MoaMetal's birthday next July 4th:
    - Onedari Daisakusen live at Budokan 2021. This is a Black Babymetal song originally performed along with YuiMetal before she left the group in 2018 but this time she's doing this as a solo, kinda.
See you next time and don't forget to put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

After that you can watch another special version to celebrate MoaMetal's birthday next July 4th called "MoaBanger" affectionately by fans which is Headbanger!! live at Legend M 2019 MoaMetal's 20th Birthday in her hometown Nagoya, Japan.🦊🤘🔥

    Fun video as always, thanks!
This is the most common (and in my opinion best) version of headbanger for their earlier years. It takes effort to find a poor version. The concert name "Legend 1997" refers to lead singer Su-Metal birthyear, this concert is her 16th birthday, its great.
[BabyMetal - Headbanger Live Legend 1997]
It is one of the last songs they perform for this particular concert. Interestingly they also perform this song as the first song of the night, but as a more j-pop club/mix version. This is because the entire concert is designed as a rock-opera, the background story being that the fox god requires Su-Metal to leave behind her jpop idol self and be reborn as a metal goddess. The full concert is also available online, starting with jpop, ending with one of the most metal performances I've ever seen, rivaling performances by Iron Maiden / Alice Cooper.

Su said it in an interview for launching second album that "We have a band, we are a band now!"
That is how Japan do things. Initiated with a duo, trio, or whatever when they were nobody. When they grew big enough, having musicians as constant members, they were called a band.
My all time favourite Japanese band FRIPSIDE initiated as duo, 10+year later now they are already a uncle band. Every fan knows the musicians behind the duo. But, Infront of the medias, the duo always represent the whole band.

Akatsuki tends to win a lot of a the fan polls for the number one Babymetal song, so its very popular among fans. Unfortunately, like Su's other solo songs and the Black Babymetal songs, it hasn't been played live regularly since 2018.
The pink guitar that Takayoshi Ohmura plays is quite famous in its own right. It's called "Pink-chan"; it's an ESP Snapper 7 Ohmura Custom signature model.

Great reaction. Su-metal performed 3 solo songs that night, this one, 'Rondo of Nightmare' and 'No Rain, No Rainbow'.
Yui and Moa (this was 5 years before the Avengers appeared) were taking a break back stage and they came out to perform their own duets as Black BABYMETAL so Su could get a break too.
'Amore' is a sort of follow up to 'Akatsuki' on the second album - that is my own favourite of her solos (by the narrowest margin) possibly because of BOH's bass solo in the middle - live at Wembley is my own favourite performance for that one.
There is another version of 'Akatsuki' that has been mentioned in the comments - the 'Unfinished version' from the Legend 1997 concert, 3 months earlier than this. It is the same song but could be a different song altogether as the feel is so much more emotional. It is just Su-metal with piano and strings.
For 'Headbanger' I would recommend live at Legend 1997 (look for the videos posted by Gans Tomas or abr metal for that one) and follow that up with Moa's 20th birthday performance 'Moabanger' - don't do that one first, you need the context of a performance of the original to get how special Moabnager is.

Great reaction, guys! Got me all pumped up listening to one of my most favorite Babymetal songs (4 songs currently occupy my top spot!) just in time to go to bed. Akatsuki (pronounced Akatski) unfinished version from Legend 1997 needs a listen now. It is the same song but, different. Just Queen Su-metal and a piano (maybe some strings). It is dripping with emotion. Also, Headbanger from Legend 1997 is my choice. They started the show with a crazy EDM version called Night of 15 mix which has a cool Ave Maria intro. Then they brought the heat with the normal version in the Encore at the end. Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘

When you see a man who plays a glittery pink guitar in a highly technical heavy metal band, you recognize that that man has zero self confidence issues. The man's name is Takayoshi Ohmura. The guitar's name is Pink Chan.

    Akatsuki @ Nippon Budokan:-
This is one of 4 Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) solo songs. The other 3 are:-
    1. "Amore" (Wembley Arena).
    2. "No Rain No Rainbow" (Legend A Baptism XX).
    3. "Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischief Of Gods" (Budokan Black Night) same venue.
Su-Metal have a powerful peircing voice to penetrate the heavy musical instrument and still sound so clear. You should listen to X Japan "Kurenai", a legendary band from Japan 🇯🇵 which Babymetal get a lot of their inspiration from. There is a slow ballad version of "Akatsuki", the Unfinished version perform at Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert same venue as Headbanger @ the Makuhari Messe.
Akatsuki is just Crimson Moon, but the original kanji for Akatsuki is the one you see in Naruto (暁). The original meaning is the time when night fall ends, or dawn. But there is a double meaning of "The time you waited after your dreams/wishes came true" . If you listen to the lyrics both crimson moon and akatsuki play a role in the song Akatsuki.
    Benitsuki -Akatsuki
    Information:-
    Kanji Title: 紅月-アカツキ.
    Romanji Title: Benitsuki -Akatsuki
English Title : Crimson Moon -Dawn.
    Akatsuki-Benitsuki:
Akatsuki- is the couping song from BABYMETAL's 3rd single Megitsune, by SU-METAL. The song is also included in BABYMETAL's first original album BABYMETAL.
    Information:
    Artist: BABYMETAL
    Single: Megitsune
    Album: BABYMETAL
    Lyrics: NAKAMETAL & TSUBOMETAL
    Composition: TSUBOMETAL
    Arrangement: Kyoto
    KamiBand:-
The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. They wore white robes and painted corpse face to resemble the dead spirit. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL.
Current Members Who Perform At Nippon Budokan:-
•Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar, ESP SNAPPER-7/R Twinkle Pink).
•Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP ARROW 7 CUSTOM).
    •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6).
    •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature).
Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues.
A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple.
    LYRICS OVERVIEW:-
    Crimson Moon
    Going over thousands nights,
    some love shall survive.
    So, until my body perishes,
    until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Shining in the depths of the eyes,
the moon is about to cry.
    Red tears overflow
    and dye the night sky.
    In the silence,
the two damaged blades stand face to face.
    Our loneliness and our uneasiness
    slash even our hearts.
    Going over thousands nights,
    some love shall survive.
    So, until my body perishes,
    until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
    In the passage of time,
    I keep my eyes shut.
Even if the red thread flowing in my hand breaks,
I still feel we are tied.
    In the silence,
I hold the damaged blade face to face.
    My loneliness and my uneasiness,
    I slash, even my heart,
    now.
    Going over thousands nights,
    some love shall survive.
    So, until my body perishes,
    until my life disappears someday...
    Going over thousands nights,
    some love shall survive.
    So, until my body perishes,
    until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
    Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!

Nice reaction. A great solo performance. Amore is another solo song that shows off Su's voice and the band getting some during the song. At this time of year, you'll get this a lot. July 4th is Moa's birthday. Which for the One means it's time for Moabanger from the Legend M concert for her 20th birthday. A version of Headbanger. But special because well Moa. anytime Moa gets the spotlight something special is going to happen. Since you guys are musicians yourselves. You may want to check out more of their festival appearances. You'll get to see more of the Kamiband since they are positioned right behind them most of the time and they went one early so you can see the Kamiband and some of their gear clear as day. Most of the time. There was Drownload where they had to cover the gear because of the rain. Ok back to this performance. I still don't know how she didn't get dizzy. At times the spinning seemed to be going kind of fast. In some other clips from this show you can see the drummer making eye contact with Su and singing along with her. For some more Kamiband fun. Babymetal opened for the Red-Hot Chili Peppers some years ago. They did Breaking the Law by Judas Priest together. Fan cams only so far from what I found. But Seeing Boh and Flee on stage together is Bass player fun overload. The Foxhole is deep and full of surprises.

you mentioned breaking the voice on purpose. if i remember correctly su-metal asked how best to get more feeling and emotion in a song...they answered her, "su, imagine you could never see the other two girls again."...in Akatsuki (unfinished ver.) a slower very emotional version of "Akatsuki" you could hear her voice almost breaking and it seemed like she was fighting back tears...

If you guys want a real headbanger, listen / react to Dimmu Borgir's Blessings Upon the Throne of Tyranny.

The Avengers weren't a thing at this point. The Avengers were Riho Sayashi, Kano Fujihira, and Momoko Okazaki and only "joined" Babymetal after Yui in 2018 left due to undisclosed health reasons. Even then the Avengers weren't announced until halfway through 2019 and there were several women who joined Su and Moa in the interim. Momoko was announced as the new member of Babymetal on April 1, 2023.
Also, why is the pink guitar funny? I don't get it.

If you don't choose an original trio version of Headbanger it's straight up Blasphemy, Legend 97, and the 4:05 intro was 3:00 too long..

They performed the Superbowl Halftime Show back in 2016 or 1i8 i believe and done several world world tours. I could see Su Metal going on to becoming an actress in theater productions and or fulm and also judge on a damce or tv. I think if Dancing with the Stars waa smart they would try and get one of the 2 remsining founding members Moa Metal or Su to apoear on their show.

I love both in their own way, but I definitely shed a tear in the unfinished version . You could feel the emotion. That's what I love about Su. Trust her when she says don't think just feel.

@@stangcobra592 agree to disagree I guess, music video sounds waaaay better, especially the breakdown part and her vocals throughout, live shows are great tho too see the crowd or the band show off
