Say what you want about this show but the fact that these mum’s are so openly supportive of their gay sons in the early 2000s is so sweet 🥺
Yeah I was thinking this... like, the show is so freaking weird and I imagine they've all been put up to exaggerating their personalities and saying/doing some of the odd shit by the producers - so I don't fully blame them for how off the wall and uncomfortable the show was... but seeing these 3 mums hyping up their gay sons and wanting them to be happy and be themselves is genuinely heartwarming 🥺. I imagine they're all much more normal in their real lives, and I do hope everyone in this is happy and doing well - and having a supportive parent while growing up gay in that era will definitely help with that!

Genuinely shocked how a trash reality show from MTV treated being gay better and more normal than prestige television and films back then.
Yah it's corny and plays up some stereotypes, but they did that with straight people too. But it never makes it like being gay is any less valid than being hetero and the moms are so supportive of their sons.

This being the same time as wife swap, there was something coming out that if they break contract or don't go with the script and staged scenarios they could be sued 5 million dollars. Lol, The Bundys were a family in the American show Married With Children from the 90s. They were brash and not your normal family. The husband and wife hated each other and they had 2 teenage kids. While they didn’t do what Ted did, they probably aren’t a family one would want to be compared to haha
